Gyro bowl im pretty plain I just like meat and rice and sauce. The gyro is so tender and full of flavor. The rice so beautifully cooked to perfection. The sauce is rich and thick.

Semi finalist for a James Beard Award!! Need I say more.. Beef Kefta is so flavorful and moist!! Lentil soup was the best I've ever had. Sweetest owners!

Kabob was ok, but for the portion and price I think there's much better choices in the area.

AVA Bakery unfortunately fell short of expectations, and while I wanted to give a positive review, several issues with both service and food made it difficult. The venue itself is quite plain, lacking much in the way of decor or ambiance to really talk about. My main frustrations began with my order. I opted for the combination platter, expecting one skewer of beef koobideh kabob and one of chicken. However, when the lady at the counter handed me my meal, it was two chicken skewers. When I pointed out that I ordered the combo, she casually informed me, "Oh, we ran out of beef, so we gave you two chickens." I was quite perturbed by this lack of communication - I should have been informed of this change before my meal was prepared, giving me the option to choose something else. As a "compensation," she offered a bowl of lentil soup, which unfortunately tasted microwaved and was incredibly salty. Secondly, I was surprised and disappointed to receive my $20 entree on a plastic tray with plastic utensils, especially since I ordered for dine-in. All the photos I'd seen online showed meals served on proper plates, and for the price point, eating out of plastic felt cheap and unexpected. Lastly, and perhaps most perplexing, was the unsolicited addition of a garlic sauce, similar to Toom, poured directly onto the chicken. This wasn't mentioned on the menu, nor is it a traditional Iranian/Persian accompaniment, and frankly, I didn't want it on my meal. Overall, while I had hoped for a good experience, the combination of unannounced substitutions, cheap presentation for a dine-in order, and an unrequested sauce made my visit to AVA Bakery quite disappointing.

I have been eating at Mid East Eats since they opened. It is one of my favorite spots in Phoenix. Everything is fresch, authentic and delicious. My go-to has always been the Chicken shawarma wrap on the Sangak bread, it's hard to beat. But today I tried the Chicken Shwarama salad in an effort to be healthy. I didn't expect it to be as good as the wrap, but boy was I wrong! The warm, perfectly seasoned chicken over cold crisp vegetables, all topped with their homemade vinaigrette dressing exceeded my expectations. The flavors and textures were amazing together! Honestly, everything they make is top-notch and I highly recommend!

This place changed owners. But don't let that stop you. The food got even better (I thought it wasn't possible lol). Chicken kabab was so well marinated. Beef kabab was cooked to perfection. Try their hummus absolutely delicious. Of course sangak bread is a staple in this restaurant. The place was very clean. The restaurant staff was so friendly. Definitely highly recommend.

Amazing Turkish coffee and fresh everything! Yum Yum

Our go to for amazing lunch experiences as well as dinner with friends. Always leave with a happy belly and a smile on my face. Great people and great food, what else can you ask for?

Top tier service. Super friendly and all smiles. Super helpful as well. Everything is delicious! Full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Walking into MidEast Eats you feel like you're walking inside home. The staff are warm and welcoming, and so quick to offer advice for newbies like me. They offer insight, and if you're lucky, samples on certain things! Inside there is plenty of tables and chairs. Aside from the amazing service, the food is just as good! I've tried several things and it has all been delicious! Food, baked bread, and a couple treats; ALL PERFECT! This is the perfect place to go if you are new to this cuisine and want to try something new. If you are still hesitant, I'd recommend trying their burger. It's a regular cheeseburger, but with flavors! Such a great spot and I'm glad I found it.

We've been meaning to try Ava Bakery for a while. I love Mediterranean food! We ordered food to go - it was all delicious! They bake own bread and it's delicious. Ground kebob, chicken and veal stew were very flavorful. Portions are good although the veal stew didn't have a lot of meat. Tried their cakes too - chocolate, almond, carrot cake and baklava. Baklava was light and not overwhelmingly sweet. Otherwise carrot cake was our favorite. Service was very friendly and courteous.

I do have a couple of critiques but it's still 5-stars and I'll still keep going back. - Something seems to have changed with the Iraqi Salad from the first time we had it... it's still good, but it was BETTER the first time, and I can't quite place what changed. - They do not have tap water. They say their water isn't good. They sell 16.9oz bottled water from Fry's or Walmart or wherever they get it that day for $1. This is not priced on the menu, which is a problem. And, if the water isn't good, are they also using bottled water for the rice, the coffee, and other cooking? This is just strange to me and not great. - Speaking of the rice, I do wish there were more options for sides with the meals. The rice is good, but sometimes I want something else, and there isn't any other choice. - The robot servers are weird... not the worst, but this is the only place I've ever been that has them, and they still want a full tip despite using these. - Service overall isn't the most attentive. Not horrible, but again, see above. Like I said though, we'll keep going back!

We had the Chicago gyros, chicken schwarma, beef kofta, lemon rice soup, tabbouleh salad and fries. All were great, but the fries were outstanding! I've eaten a lot of fried potatoes in my life, and really none better. They rounded out the meal-hot, fresh, crunchy and soft. Perfect! If I had to have a "complaint," the lemon garlic aioli on the schwarma was a bit too much, get that "on the side" so you can manage that. Otherwise a great meal. OPA!

We're in trouble…read more The second I tasted the garlic sauce, I had an immediate realization, this is the kind of place that accidentally ends up on my weekly rotation. I would legitimately come back just for pita and that garlic sauce. No shame. I ordered online and, because I have no self-control, kept adding things to my cart. Ended up with a falafel wrap, a side beef kebab, a side of rice, and a garlic sauce. I had no idea the wrap came with a generous serving of steak fries, so that was a nice surprise. Now... I may have ruined my own ability to objectively review the falafel because the first thing I did was absolutely smother it in that garlic sauce. Underneath my terrible scientific methods, the falafel was crispy, flavorful, and every bite had a nice little crunch of freshness (pickle, onion, maybe tomato? I mentioned, smoothered in garlic sauce). The pita itself deserves a mention, too. It was soft, fresh, and held everything together without falling apart. Nothing over-the-top or fancy, just a really good pita and a wrap that felt like a fair portion for the price. The beef? I only stole one bite because I'm saving it for later, but it was tender, flavorful, and paired with some seriously delicious crunchy onions. The rice is also waiting for Future Me, who's going to have a pretty great evening. The woman working there was incredibly kind. I showed up a little early after ordering online, let her know I was probably ahead of schedule, and she came out to greet me, chatted for a moment about the storm rolling in, and brought my food right out. One thing that surprised me was the size of the place. I'd seen people describe it as a "hole in the wall," but... I don't know what kind of walls they're used to. This place is much bigger than a hole. I'll definitely be back. Mostly because that garlic sauce has already made itself a problem. Future Jess checking in: I originally hadn't tried the rice, but now I'm standing in front of my refrigerator eating it cold with a spoon, and I have zero regrets. It's beautifully cooked, and there's this subtle cardamom flavor that somehow makes plain rice ridiculously addictive. I kept wondering what I'd eat it with. Turns out... nothing. It doesn't need anything. I also demolished the beef kebab straight out of the fridge, and it was just as delicious cold as it was fresh.

The gentleman working noticed us studying the menu and was extremely helpful, even offering a few sample bites before we decided. We ended up getting a chicken wrap, a falafel wrap, hummus and baklava. Hands down, the falafel was my favorite. I asked for the orange hot sauce on the side and it was fantastic. Definitely spicy though so be careful if that isn't your thing. The falafel was flavorful and moist. The wrap came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, cucumber and sauce inside a tortilla, then grilled. Absolutely perfect. Fresh and delicious. My partner's chicken was also great. Fewer vegetables than on the falafel wrap. The chicken meat was super juicy and perfectly seasoned. Both meals came with a soup that was a nice addition. But people... hear me out.... The baklava. SO. FREAKING GOOD. Perfectly flaky and the right amount of sweetness.
