I'll be honest I was f really feeling it when I pulled up because the area is less than great. Quite a homeless population going on, but we opted to go inside and I was pleasantly surprised at what they had to offer. The place is definitely old and could use some improvements, but was pretty clean and service was great. I was surprised to see Mexican food on the menu along with burgers, Chicago dogs etc, but I think it works especially if you have someone he hates one of the other. I chose the Chicago dogs and fries, but we also decided to try the rolled tacos, and a Philly cheesesteak. Everything came out pretty quick and looked good, the cheesesteak was tiny and felt it lacked meat etc. but it was ok. The hotdog was delicious and topping great. Fries were crispy. The rolled tacos had melted cheese on top and they gave Musca side of guacamole. Also good. They offer fountain drinks, bottles and cans of soda as well. I also saw small bottles of alcohol like you'd find at the grove store near checkout. There is a drive thru of toys like to take it to go as well. I'd come back and get other things. Drove thru for a burger a couple weeks ago and had to come back. This time made it a double burger to go even harder. Delivered thru the window in a brown paper bag with a couple grease spots coming thru. Fries are thick and crispy and tasty. New favorite sport for lunch. This place has delicious onion rings like the best ones I have ever had. My children do not like onion rings normally and they eat them up like their french fries. I like to try to go there at least once a month just because there are other places that I love going. My husband loves their hamburgers. I've been here before with no issues. However, this past visit was disappointing. The menu had a 2 x ground beef taco plate with rice and beans advertised. So, I had this idea in mind of what I thought I was getting. I got 2 chorizo tacos. I don't like chorizo. The rice was the yellow mediterranean rice instead of the red spanish/mexican rice. The beans were refried and tasted decent. However, the rest of the plate disappointed so bad that I ended up eating the tortilla shell without the filling plus the lettuce and tomato. Finally tried this establishment as I rolled into the drive-through. Went with the Mania Burger combo for $12.50. It had a big slice of onion and thousand island dressing as the main features on a sesame bun. The burger was good. It was an old school experience, but better than a chains. Got the food pretty fast. Been meaning to check this place out because of all the reviews I read. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and an order of Buffalo boneless wings and was dissapointed with both. The Philly was dry there was no mayo on it just the veggies meat and cheese and as I got to the end of the sandwich there was no meat at all and I'm talking like an inch of just bread no meat. We've passed this place countless times over the years, but this was the first time we ever stopped & went in. We had time to kill while waiting for our car to be serviced at a dealership (so many car dealerships nearby & it's much better here than the waiting rooms). The food was really very good, the service was so welcoming & friendly (from the owner, I presume). He was telling us how he's had this place since the 70s & the menu has both breakfast & lunch/dinner type items. Both were delicious & reminded me a lot of establishments back east where you know you're getting good quality food . Stop by for dinner and had two very plump and juicy hot dogs with mustard and sauerkraut. You got to be some of the most plump hot dogs I've ever had and they were so good and grilled. I also had what I think are some of the best onion rings in the valley. These were battered and not crumbs and the batter and the sweetness of the onion came together to make an outstanding side dish. I also had Coke Zero bottles which are in their freezer and just topped off a really awesome dinner. I think I said in another review that their menu was vast and had breakfast lunch and dinner items on it when they're open. They have a lot of choices. I tried their polish Chicago dog. It was pretty good. I liked their mozzarella sticks. Their chicken sandwich is not that great, maybe if they had shredded lettuce on it. The food is made to order and good quality. It's a little pricey but at least the food is worth it! Fries are nice and crispy and it's a large portion. I must note this is the only restaurant I've ever come across that sells over 70 types of mini liqueur bottles! So much selection! I do think the outdated building and signage may deter new business. Place is pretty clean from what I've witnessed but the food was alright. Thin 1/4 lbs patty didn't balance out with the thick onions, I had to discard the onion because it was just too much. My BF had the bacon burger and he said the bacon tasted like pastrami, they probably don't clean off the grill much. Fries and onion rings were good but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Ok, I'll start this by clarifying that if Yelp had the option for 3.5 stars, that's what I would rate it. But I'm not going to demote them based on Yelps lack of a broader review system. I yelped this place myself before trying and was so confused on what to expect because these reviews were all over the place. So I'm going to explain the pros and cons because I kind of wish someone else here had. Firstly, if you're from Los Angeles (born and raised, in Boyle Heights is where I spent most of my days), and you're looking for that Jim's;Tams; Ricks;Troy's; (insert random white guy name with a kitchen run by Hispanic people), this isn't it. I've been living here for 7+ years now and have narrowed the closest places to Haven Burgers is Mesa, AZ and Burger Shoppe on Thomas and 32nd Ave. They're still like an 8/10 to the best LA places but they will do. Now, if you live in the neighborhood, this is your spot. If you're hungry and have some $$$ to burn and don't want general fast food, this is your spot. If you are nearby and have the type of family who likes variety and aren't made up of foodies, this is your spot. If you, like me is an avid LA style Chili Cheese fries and pastrami aficionado, this is definitely NOT it. They weren't awful but they weren't even close to that wonderful thick, liquidy but somehow meaty chili we desire. Would I eat them again? If I'm in the area and am not paying, sure but I would not go out of my way for them. The pastrami was not good. They use the wrong type of pastrami cut and then grill it. It's missing the 'thick cut with a bit too much fat' that LA pastrami gives you. If you're not from LA and your standards are lower, I'd still go to Firehouse subs. Same price, better deli meat and more of it. The pastrami was honestly the more disappointing part of the meal. If someone brought me this as a treat, I'd eat it because I'm not an ungrateful monster but I wouldn't order it if I came back. Now that we got the cons out of the way, let's throw you some pros. The service was really friendly, the fries were perfectly golden and delicious (best part of the chili fries but mind you we did ask for the extra crispy), and they give you the yellow peppers for free (which should be a give in but Burger Shoppe charges). I haven't tried anything else but those are usually my first orders at these places and can tell me if I'd enjoy anything else on the menu. If you do go, maybe just stick to a burger and fries or one of their many random as hell items. Lastly, their prices are slightly higher than the average but nothing too crazy. Also if you're an Arizona native and you love this place, it's ok. You don't know any better. Keep on enjoying it! But maybe blow your mind with the other two places I listed earlier. It's ok to grow your expectations. read more

Just stopped in today and holy kamoly, the food was great! We ordered a pair of Mania Burgers with cheese and two small fries. The portions were very generous and still piping hot when we got home with it a few minutes later. Fries were soft on the inside and perfectly golden and crunchy on the outside. Burgers were large and featured a large piece of onion, plenty of tomato, lettuce, pickles and sauce. If you're not eating here you guys are missing out. Forget that California drive-in with its long lines and short menu; Burger Mania on Bell is our new favorite place for fast food burgers. Next up to try: the Chicago-style hot dogs! read more
