This place personifies greasy spoon! The menu is big but not too big. The portions are HUGE and the food is delicious! Food: Solid 4 stars! Ambiance: 2.5 stars! Service: 5 stars!! Place is a Greek diner, but doesn't serve much Greek food. They had a Greek omlette, but that had feta cheese only. The veggie omelette had Swiss, but it cost $1.99 to switch to feta. Omelette was very good and well cooked. The home fried potatoes were a tad too overcooked and needed some onions and peppers. About $14 including toast. Nice staff and clean place. read more

Due to dietary restrictions, I asked for a special order ala carte style and expected to pay for such. Carol was amazing and made the order work for me at a reasonable price. I worked a half day and stopped here on my way home. Food is still tasty and served fast. I had the BLT with fries. However, there is still a funky smell right as you walk in. I think it's the carpet that needs replacing. The tables, bar & booths are pretty clean. The restroom also clean. My waitress was friendly and on top of my drink refills. If you read any of my reviews, I drink a lot and use the unsolicited refill factor as one of my gauges for service. I would eat their food again, but would get it to go or through some delivery service. read more

Nice server awful food display. Open faced turkey sandwich with yellow gravy covering the whole plate cold mash potatoes. My friend had chicken tenders that look and taste like Tyson frozen tenders. I went to Alexi's at the corner of 19th Ave and Union Hills for lunch. I ordered chicken parmesan with spaghetti that came with a cup of soup. When I started eating my cup of soup, a cockroach crawled out from under the crackers on my plate and onto the table. I killed the cockroach and let the server know. I lost my appetite so I couldn't eat any more of the food. The server told me he talked to the owner and that the owner said exterminators came to spray two days ago. They then still charged me full price for my food. I loved eating at Alexi's and would come here with my grown children when I could, but not anymore. I have been a server/hostess in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. I am very disappointed in how this situation was handled. read more

I had lunch here for the first time today. Very clean old fashioned diner. I had a grilled cheese and adding a tomato was no big deal. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and we were able to sit at our table for an extended time without anyone trying to get us to leave. I definitely recommend this home style diner! Service was nice, tasted good but outrageously priced. Two 5 in skillets, half order of packet made biscuits and gravy, iced tea and a coffee was $50. If the prices matched what you got I would definitely come back but at this price I'll be going someplace else. I also agree with other posters that it is dingy and old. They have hot roast beef sandwiches with gravy and smashed potatoes that is very good also they are serving a turkey open-faced sandwich with a gravy and the potatoes. We had our work Christmas party here last night, and Alexi's hosted such a great event for us. We started on a covered (and heated!) patio with little bites and drinks, before heading inside for dinner. We had an entire space that was towards the back and somewhat cornered off for privacy. The service was excellent and we were given a handful of entree options. I chose the halibut and my husband had the NY strip steak. Everyone received a huge and delicious Greek salad before our entrees were delivered. My fish was delicious. It had feta (never had it like this but highly recommend) on top along with tomato and a delicious sauce. It was so light and yummy. There were also potatoes, sweet potatoes (my favorite part of the entire dinner- they were so good!) and broccoli. My husband's steak wasn't too bad, I snuck a few bites! We closed with a large selection of desserts to choose from. I had the limoncello and my husband had the cheesecake. I definitely preferred the cheesecake. Would love to try the regular menu sometime but really enjoyed the event! read more

The food is decent but when you pay over $11 for a two Egg omelette with potatoes and toast. And they inform you that if you would like cheese there is an up charge of $.90 that left me very unhappy, especially since the only cheese they seem to have in the restaurant is American. The restaurant is filthy they only clean the walkways and they don't do a very good job at that I've added pictures of the bus trays that have the clean glasses in them and the front door the intake vent etc. I think it's time for the owners to clean the restaurant every pair the ribs and the booths and scrub the dirt off the front door from everybody's hands Not to mention cleaning under the equipment that you can clearly see from the booth I was in. rather disgusting!!! read more

The food was very good. The food was plentiful and was served quickly. I had the Philly cheesesteak and curly fries. My friend had the French dip. We each ended up taking half of our meal home. My daughter and I stopped in here for a quick meal while we were shopping in the area. My tea was stale tasting. My daughter asked for Pepsi...they brought tea first then coffee with ice, then finally the Pepsi. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon sandwich. I've never seen anything like this in all my 70+ years. The little bit of cheese on the sandwich tasted like that stuff you get in plastic wrappers. My daughters chorizo and eggs were ok. I can't seem to load a picture so I'll describe the sandwich. The cheese was very sparce (maybe one slice?) ...about an inch from the sides of the bread. Needing a breakfast joint for Father's Day that wasn't going to be packed. Alexi's it was. Arrived about 8:30 with a party of 10. Was greeted by several wait staff and seated right away. At glance restaurant was clean. I ordered from the breakfast special menu. #1 for me. Half a waffle, 2 eggs, choice of breakfast meat. A bargain at $6.99 on a Sunday morning. Food arrived quickly. Hot and fresh! My waffle crispy with a big scoop of butter, eggs perfectly over easy, bacon cooked nicely. Other specials include pancakes, French toast or home fries and toast. Our service was fantastic even though we were a large party coffee and iced beverages always full. Alexi's is going to be our new go to breakfast joint. Home cooking with a hometown feel and for a party of 10 our bill was only $100 bucks. We all had beverages and not everyone ordered off the special menu. read more
