Stopped at Georges for a sandwich and extremely impressed by the restraint. The lobby - ordering area is spacious as is the dining room. The Italian aroma from pizza and I am assuming other traditional Italian dishes like spaghetti with meatballs is spectacular and reminds me of my favorite Italian restaurant of all time, The Village Cafe, in Portland (which unfortunately is closed). The sandwich was delicious and really hit the spot. I am thinking the next time I stop by when I have more time I'll order an Italian dish. I have been going to George's for 35 years and always had a pizza cooked the same and perfect the past two times it's been over cooked. I finally said something and the manager put me down and laughed in my face and was very unprofessinal. I miss seeing George there. No one is friendly anymore there and pizza is not the same. Just a "3" for now (until I can get back to try something else off the Menu) Pizza was pretty good (and I'm picky about pizza) Generally my first try at any pizza joint is with Pepperoni. Something unique about this place is their pepperonis! They are these small little round bits of love & they don't skimp on them! For some reason though these little roni's seemed to be 10X greasier than regular pepperoni. (Hence the 3 stars) I used at least 3 napkins per slice to do "The Pizza Pat" Their crust has a good balance, not thick, not thin - right in the middle. The amount of cheese is just right and the sauce seemed a little sweet but was hard to really tell with the spice of the pepperoni. Staff was very friendly and the establishment was clean in appearance. We went on a pretty busy Friday night and staff was constantly checking the dining room to clean tables etc. I will definitely come back to try something else other than pizza, which will hopefully bump my rating up a star or two. I would say give this place a shot for sure. You could go to Dominos or Pizza Hut sure but that's just gross. read more

First time here and the family got the Appetizer Combo to start. It was quite a bit of food for an appetizer, for the money! My husband got a Turkey Sub and he said it was good. The kiddos got a Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza and loved it. I had a craving for an Hawaiian Pizza and I loved it. The crust was perfect, the sauce was not overpowering my pizza, cheese was perfect, thr ham was not burnt, again cooked just right and they use pineapple tidbits, not chunks and they added just enough sweetness to the pizza. I was also thrilled that it wasn't soggy.. I was very pleased. PLUS, my husband ate two pieces of my pizza and he doesn't like Hawaiian Pizza, so that says allot!! The staff is very friendly and the place was clean. I think most people may pass this place by, because outside looks outdated, but trust me people, it's a place worth stopping at!!! read more

George's has always been my families favorite choice to get a bite to eat if we are on the run or just really need some pizza (because who doesn't really need pizza sometimes!) Georges has fantastic pizza; the crust is cooked perfectly and frankly seems to be the best part coming from the opinion of my family. The service when sitting in the restaurant, nothing special. We usually order a cheese pizza and a pepperoni and other meat pizza for all of us. They have the cutest little pepperonis that you'll never forget after you visit. The restaraunt is large enough to support a large group both in seating and parking. The service is fast enough that you won't be sitting forever. Overall I would recommend Georges to anyone interested in come good pizza. The taste is perfect, and the price is doable! read more

The pepperoni pizza is the best I have ever had. I wish it was not so good so I could try some other things on the menu. But every time I go I have to get the pepperoni pizza. My wife always gets the chicken finger dinner so when she doesn't finish, I get some of it. It is also great. I grew up eating pizza and italians from George's. As far as I'm concerned, they define what pizza and italians are for everyone in the Lewiston/Auburn area. I moved away permanently in 1995, but would still go back there any chance I got when I was in the area. Unfortunately, those chances are more rare now that my parents have also moved away. However, every so often, I still find myself with a deep craving for a ham and cheese italian or a pepperoni pizza from George's Pizza. Nothing else can satisfy. read more

Salads are fresh and pizza's are solid. The crust is nice, Greek style. He sauce is as I like, not a lot and not chucky and a little bit of spice. The cheese is fair as well. I agree with Patrick D., this is the way pizza should be. read more
