Took the family to Grafton, Illinois via car ferry and was recommended 3rd Chute Bar and Grill was a favorite spot to enjoy food/drink when visiting. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and 3rd Chute was packed. They do have multiple bars and places to sit on the 3 levels and was able to find some seating. Servers were pretty busy and took a minute to get menus, are drink order and listen to the specials. 3rd Chute does have live music on weekends which was very good. 3rd Chute is a pretty cool place, Lots of great decor everywhere you look which gives the place that cool bar and grill feeling. We started with some mini corn dog appetizers and some Mac and cheese poppers, a fried blend of macaroni and pepper jack cheese fried to perfection. We also ordered a classic cheeseburger with fries, pork tenderloin sandwich, pulled pork sandwich with fries and a grilled hot dog with fries. It took a few minutes to get our food with how busy the place was. Our server did check up on us to make sure our drinks were topped off. Food was cooked to order and was a good portion for those with a hearty appetite. There are several other bar and grills in close proximity to 3rd Chute. Most other places had more seafood options, which unfortunately we had allergies to. 3rd Chute's menu had all the classic food options a great bar and grill usually has available. 3Rd Chute Bar and Grill was a cool experience and highly recommend if you're visiting Grafton and looking for some good food with reasonable prices. Had a lunch here with some amazing people this Memorial Day. The food and service was as expected and it was good. I really liked the atmosphere and it had beachy vibes. It's family friendly asIt reminded me of the restaurants in Gulf Shores. This is the Grafton location and there's another 3rd Chute in Alton as well. This location had several levels indoor and outdoor. We made it to the top where you could see the river (the treehouse). I really wish I got a photo of the view. Grafton is a very touristy and busy local gem. Expect to look for a parking spot and longer than normal waits on the weekends. Just about everywhere in Grafton is worth the wait. Went for late lunch on Labor day (Monday) for our 1st visit to Grafton. When we walked in we saw no one working the 1st floor bar and no signs to go upstairs, but we went up anyway. At the top of the stairs there were staff who told us to sit anywhere; we chose indoor booth near the kitchen. Many people who can up after us went outside. Our server brought us drinks (water & lemonade) promptly, and took our orders as soon as we were ready. The menu needs more descriptors of what's included with each order. On the Spicy Chicken sandwich there was NO mention that cheese comes on it, and it came all melted on. I don't like cheese on chicken sandwich so it would have been nice to know so that I could ask for no cheese. On the Fish tacos there was NO mention that Cole slaw would be all over the fish. My son's friend who ordered that does not like cole slaw, so she would not have ordered this if the menu had included it. The Hairy (hot) dog listing includes that it has cole slaw, but Fish tacos listing is missing this description. I could not find photos of either of these items in prior Yelp reviews. This restaurant's Facebook page does not have photos of these items, just multiples of the same photos i.e. fried chicken and pork chops. This restaurant does not have a website. My chicken sandwich & son's 1/2 lb burger were good but hard to hold due to size. It was nice that I could get Sweet potato fries instead of regular fries with my sandwich, and the fries that came with each entree were plentiful (we couldn't finish them). read more

We stopped in here while hanging out in Grafton for the day. They have a pretty cool concept - 3 floors, each with a different specialty. The first floor is a bar only vibe. We just walked through. The second floor offers a great view for people watching and they have food service. Service was quick, friendly and drinks stayed filled. We sat at the side bar looking out to the road and enjoyed the people watching. The food was TASTY and they had some unique offerings on the menu which I enjoyed. The third floor had more of a restaurant vibe, we just passed through. The fourth floor was like dance club vibe - loud music, lights, large bar, people vibing. We hung out here for awhile until they closed that floor. It was nighttime so we couldn't see too much, but I've heard you can see all the way to the river for this floor during the day. It was a very odd environment. The crowd was diverse; however, there was a group playing their own music once karaoke started and it disrupted the singers. No one greeted us when we arrived and there was a random bull to ride in the main area. This place has potential. read more

Stopped here for lunch recently. First time we had been here. Bartender was friendly. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and hubby had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. There was a pile of shredded pork on the bun and a good bit of BBQ sauce. Best part was they toasted the bun - love it! The sauce was good and the meat well seasoned and tender. Stop into the 3rd Chute for their wine slushees. They are perfect as a singular flavor, but twice as nice when you blend the flavors. I also enjoyed the ambiance of the venue. Came here tonight to drink and eat and we where drinking at the bar and told the bartender we wanted to order food and drink more but we wanted to walk around and check the place out when we came back our seats where gone. Great bar and location! The outdoor sitting areas (upstairs and downstairs) are both very nice. It is a fun spot to hang out. The wait staff was friendly and fun, and good specials and options on drinks. Quite a few canned beers for $1.50 each. Had a fun time hanging out here and talking with other during a Friday evening visit to Grafton. We ordered some appetizers only and they were just fine. I would try the food again. It took a while to get the apps, but I think the kitchen must have had a bunch of orders come in at one. Good spot and will be back. read more

I like the atmoshere. Great river view. I had the house salad with grilled chicken. It is a simple salad buy very tasty. Grilled chicken was nicely done. They forgot the candied pecans (or walnuts, I don't remember what it said). That would have it even better. The wings were good, but not great. The food took a while to bring out, they are busy, but this is a beautiful saturday, i would think they should be prepared. Our waitress was very nice and smiley. This had to be the worst dining experience I've ever had. We were in Grafton for the Fireworks and decided to give this restaurant a try (I really wanted my daughter to try frog legs and she was up to the task). However, that never happened. The restaurant was completely understaffed in both the front end and the kitchen. There were only 2 waitresses to cover 4 dining areas. It took 15 minutes just to get a menu and or initial drink order was completely wrong. Not only did it take another 20 minutes to have our order taken, after an additional 1 hr and 20 minutes without our food being delivered we had had enough and left the establishment without getting a chance to even taste the fare. Management needs to decide if the place is a bar or a restaurant. Clearly they are not capable of being both. If I had the ability to give this establishment a negative star it would would be a -5. read more

One of your employees stole my debit card information and has used it to fraudulently charge hundreds of dollars to my account. We went in for drinks yesterday afternoon, and hours after using my debit card to pay our bill, these charges started showing up. Your establishment is the only place I have used my debit card in the past few days, so I know that is where the information was stolen. I will NEVER go back. read more
