My breakfast wrap with veggies was stuffed with eggs and veggies and was delicious. The home fries were perfect. I was sitting by the kitchen pass through, and kept seeing heaping plates and these HUGE pancakes being delivered from the kitchen. We were here with a group 6 for a weekend getaway and ended up having breakfast here twice. When we came on Sunday morning we had a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. I ordered the bagel sandwich with linguica (Portuguese sausage). If you are currently unacquainted with linguica please do yourself a favor and change that immediately. It is SO delicious. I've always loved George's. Lay night was a major disappointment. My sis and I had a cup of beef stew first. Honestly it wasn't too bad but reminded me of beef stew in a can. It main meal was the stir fry. I had it with grilled chicken and she had it with beef. The meat tasted fresh and good. But the rest was a disaster. Tasted like it came out of a frozen bag of vegetables. Way overcooked and so much soy sauce it overpowered everything. Rice under it all was soaked in the soy sauce. 2 meals and she had 2 drinks. $98 for the whole thing. I don't think I'll be going back. I was starving! Hangry some might say! I pretty much only order eggs Benedict when I'm out for breakfast. I'm always nervous ordering it. For some reason Eggs Benedict seems to be incredible easy to screw up.. but George's was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. I've ordered from them twice now in quarantine and they've been incredible FAST, YUMMY, HOT, and the staff was friendly and welcoming, even with everything going on. My husband and I recently returned from a trip and had no food in the house. So we ventured out, trying to think of something a little different and said let's go to George's! Breakfast is always solid and we had not yet tried dinner. We were really impressed. Note, George is at night also opened right before or during the pandemic. It was a pretty gutsy move at a time where there was a lot of uncertainty. Good for you! The layout is a small hometown restaurant with a bar. The bartender was super friendly and we engaged in conversation with people we happen to know and others that joined in. We had fun! Our meals were delicious. No plastic taken here, so make sure you bring cash (there is an ATM across the street). The dining area is ample and comfortable. George's looks tiny from the outside, yet is roomy and inviting inside. The bartenders and waitstaff are all so very kind and upbeat. We first went on a Thursday night. The American Chop Suey was amazing! My wife had a bacon cheeseburger with coleslaw, and said that it was "perfect". The service wasn't great, but we did go on a Sunday afternoon. We waited only 20-30 minutes to get a table which was about what we expected. It's really small inside, but has an "at home" feel. Despite the not so appealing interior, the food was fantastic. I got the Benedict omelet with home fries and it was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was a huge win from my perspective. I, surprisingly, didn't try the coffee though I wish I had. The serving size was huge! I couldn't finish it... I will definitely be returning to try some other favorites off the menu. read more
