Well I had an expensive pair of shoes gifted to me by my husband. He unfortunately put our daughters in charge of purchasing a pair of shoes. These shoes didn't fit. Go figure my daughter couldn't find the receipt. Long story short they've sat in the closet forever and Nordstrom no longer provide stretching service. That led me to George's. George is amazing!!!! I came in defeated because one of my favorite shoes heel was somewhat broke if that makes sense. I want to a repair shop in my town and the guy told me I might as well get rid of the shoe. Remind you this is the same issue I had with the left shoe and now the right one is acting up. So I looked online to see if I could find another shoe repair shop and see if I could get a 2nd opinion. I had a repair on some boots. I went to the manufacturer and they said it was normal wear and I must have done something to cause the damage. I took the boots to George's and he immediately identified the issue. The manufacturer cut the stitching channel too deeply. The repair was done well and George did some things that exceeded my expectations. The repair price was very reasonable, but I decided to inform the manufacturer of the issue. Because I told them of George's reputation they sent me a pair that had been returned (because the customer decided on a different size.) Thanks George! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I dropped off brand new Christian Louboutin boots to have a red protective sole placed on. I just picked up and my brand new $2,000 boots look awful. See photos attached. There is glue coming up one side there are random black marks on the heel there is a piece of the suede torn. I don't know how they were store, but they look dirty and worn now. I told George I wasn't happy with them and he tells me simply "I am not going to stand here and debate with you. This is my best work." I originally chose this place because people because reviews described George as "honest." If you want your shoes destroyed this is the place to bring them. read more

I have been coming to George's Shoe Repair for several years to repair and reheel leather boots. Located right of route 29, his shop is easily accessible with plenty of parking. I typically drop the boots off midweek and they are done by the weekend. The prices are very fair and competitive for such quality work. I'm a repeat customer because each time I've gone, the service has truly exceeded my expectations. This particular pair was in bad shape because the heel was worn to its interior, and the grommet that secured the loop on the back that helped pull the boot on and off had almost completely loosened. Luckily, George was able to fix it all, and he even did it before the time he originally quoted. He told me to call ahead if I really needed them, and if they were ready then, I could pick them up. I've been coming here for 10 years with everything from puppy chewed leather heels to re-soling. I've tried the shoe shop at the mall and another in Vienna and the quality is not as good and the prices are higher. I wouldn't go here again. First of all, George seems irritated to have to interact with customers at all. Every time I have been in there, I've been made to feel like I'm imposing. You know how when you go into a place and they're closing in 30 seconds and really would like to get you out the door? It's like that, but any time of the day. Second, his repairs aren't that great. The ones I've had have ranged from crooked seams to creating new problems. I took a favorite pair of suede platform sandals in to have the sole reattached and when I got them back, they had a long dark runner of glue dribbled down the suede platform. And, like the viewer below, I was also told once to go out and source materials for my own repair and bring it all to him when I had it together. No thanks. He's also quite slow. Count on at least a week for whatever you need. Go somewhere else, anywhere else. It might be another 10 or 15 minutes in the car, but you'll save yourself a huge headache. And probably get it back faster, too. read more
