Bar none, the repairs were the best I have ever had done anywhere! The quality was outstanding! Their attention to detail is not something I see anymore. On all three repairs they found extra items that needed TLC and did them without extra charges. The staff is always friendly too. I would rate them 4 & 1/2 stars on their workmanship if I could. I would give Casmera 5 stars if they were not so in demand and took longer than expected for all the jobs. That is a great problem to have. I paid $60 and waited approximately one week, only to receive my belt back looking almost exactly the same as when I dropped it off. When I brought the belt to the shop, I specifically explained that I wanted the **color of the leather to be evened out** and the leather properly reconditioned. The man assured me that he understood what I wanted and that he would take care of it. However, when I picked it up, the color was still uneven, and I could barely see any difference in the condition or appearance of the leather. This is not an ordinary $100 belt. It is a collectible belt worth more than $1,000, which is exactly why I was willing to pay $60 for professional restoration and trusted your shop with it. When I picked it up, I was told that the belt might not look different but they had applied a water repellent spray. I paid for the belt to be reconditioned and improved in appearance, not simply sprayed with water repellent. I can purchase a similar spray for around $10 at Walmart and apply it myself at home. I feel that I did not receive the service I paid for. If the shop could not even out the leather color or achieve the result I requested, I believe I should have been told that before the work was performed. I am very disappointed and honestly feel like I was scammed out of $60. I expected professional workmanship. I was disappointed when the shoe repair spot at Langston Boulevard and George Mason closed a few years ago, so I'm incredibly happy that Golden Shoe is still around and going strong. I recently brought in a few pair of older Clarks. They are my favorite comfortable work dress shoes, but they had reached a point where they weren't quite right for business anymore. However, they still had plenty of life left in them. I took them to Golden Shoe for a full shine and restoration, and the results are fantastic. They look great now for a weekend or an evening out paired with blue jeans. This wasn't my first visit, either. Previously, I brought in my Doc Martens that I've owned since the 1990s. They told me that adding a pad under my foot and a non-slip band on the strap would solve the issue. It helped a little, but not completely leaving me somewhat disappointed. In addition to not receiving a complete fix, what really disappointed me was the service or lack thereof. The man working there barely looked up from what he was doing and never asked me to try on the shoe to see the problem for himself. He gave short, vague suggestions and seemed uninterested in actually helping. I had to walk back and forth to the shelves three separate times to find the products he mentioned, rather than him taking a moment to show me where they were. The whole interaction felt dismissive and rushed. The shop itself is tucked away inside Tysons Mall, so it is easy to miss unless you are looking for it.
