High quality local business. His cleaning and repairs give new life to worn shoes and leather products. Reasonable prices and great value.

In true Simon fashion, he gave all of these shoes new life, and he perfectly rebuilt the ankle strap.

I stopped by The Shoe Shoppe in Tysons because I have a pair of slingback heels that I love, but…read morethe back strap constantly slips off my foot and makes them almost impossible to walk in. I really wanted to wear them to my cousins wedding and this shop came recommended. I originally thought the strap needed to be shortened, but the staff suggested a different fix. They told me that adding a pad under my foot and a non-slip band on the strap would solve the issue. It helped a little, but not completely leaving me somewhat disappointed. In addition to not receiving a complete fix, what really disappointed me was the service or lack thereof. The man working there barely looked up from what he was doing and never asked me to try on the shoe to see the problem for himself. He gave short, vague suggestions and seemed uninterested in actually helping. I had to walk back and forth to the shelves three separate times to find the products he mentioned, rather than him taking a moment to show me where they were. The whole interaction felt dismissive and rushed. The shop itself is tucked away inside Tysons Mall, so it is easy to miss unless you are looking for it. While it is convenient if you are already nearby, I would not make a special trip back. For a store that specializes in shoes, I expected more attention and care. The experience left me unimpressed and still struggling with the same pair of shoes.

Over the years I've purchased a lot of designer shoes, and anyone who invests in quality footwear…read moreknows how important it is to have the right professional handle alterations, repairs and restoration. After losing a lot of money trying multiple shops around the area I eventually found George Shoe Repair, and the difference was immediately clear. George's craftsmanship and knowledge is exceptional. He truly understands shoe construction, materials, and the proper way to restore high-end footwear. Every pair I've brought to him has been handled with precision and attention to detail that reflects real mastery of his craft. What really separates George from many other repair shops is his honesty and integrity. I once asked him to perform a specific alteration on a pair of Chanel shoes. Instead of agreeing and taking my money, he flat out told me no; NOT because he couldn't but because the alteration would damage the structure of my shoe and ruin it over time. That level of transparency is RARE. In the past, other shops just said yes, took on work they shouldn't have, and ultimately I had to throw my shoes away literally costing me thousands of dollars. Another thing worth highlighting is that his prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work. You're getting top-level craftsmanship without the inflated pricing that many places charge for far far worse results. George runs his shop with professionalism, skill, and genuine respect for the craft. If you care about your shoes and want someone who will treat them the right way, GEORGE IS EASILY THE BEST IN THE DMV HANDS DOWN!!

However, I want to flag a pricing issue for others. Before bringing in the items, I called and was quoted approximately $7-$10 per pair. At drop-off, the pricing presented was $22-$30 per pair. I raised the discrepancy immediately, but was told the prior quote was incorrect and no adjustment or accommodation was offered. I proceeded given the number of items already in hand, but followed up again afterward and was not able to reach a resolution. If you plan to use this shop, I would strongly recommend confirming pricing in writing before proceeding, particularly for multiple items. Sharing this so others can make informed decisions.

He and the woman behind the counter were trading news. Finally, they acknowledged me, took a very quick look at what I wanted done, said it would cost $200+, and indicated it likely wasn't worth me paying to have it fixed since it would cost the same as a new suitcase. I needed a complete wheel replacement and asked about them fixing the collapsible handle that had started getting stuck. The cost for just the handle, oh my! I really appreciate that they didn't waste more than five minutes of my time. I didn't feel like they wanted any of my business though.
