Love this place! You can get a growl of Manny's for $8 and they don't charge a deposit. You can even get 9 lb porter! So don't recycle them when you are done and instead bring them back. They have a nice assortment of apparel and size up to 3XL. They don't charge tax either or it's already figured in their prices. Lots of parking and away from airport way which is nice. read more

Went to Georgetown brewery on Sunday, October 25 atound 3 pm after a delightful brunch in Ballard. We were greeted by a nasty surly server. I told him I was there to get either the Sue Bird IPA or the Stewie IPA...big Storm fan here. I was told in a snotty manner its in the cooler in growlers. I asked if the do crowlers or cans of it, I am one person and no way can I drink a growler of beer. He snapped at me "the only cans we have are on the board and we don't do crowlers". I left without buying a thing...neither did my friends...being put off by the rude server. First off...even little breweries do crowlers...what the heck are you to cool? And second you are doing your business no good have nasty servers. You have lost my business...I will never even drink another Bodhizafa even if its the only IPA. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the other breweries in town.....ones that care about getting your business and their customers because Georgetown obviously doesn't. read more

All ratings are only my opinion and specific to the particular visit. Ratings are on a scale: 0 - 5 Stars. 9lb. Porter: ABV 6.4 IBU 40. Light chocolate aroma. A little creamy. Nice smooth ending. Staff is patient and willing to help educate you on the various beers as well as letting you sample them at no charge when debating between a couple options. Great merchandise at reasonable prices. Came here for the brewery tour and had so much fun. Great place to take out of town guests. They only do the tours Saturday around 5 and accommodate about 12 people per your so be sure to make a reservation. For $5 this tour is a steal. You get a pint glass and the tour guides are very generous with their tasting pours. Our tour was about 1.5 hours. We'll definitely be back! read more

Out of all the breweries in the this town (which we have sooooooo many of) I will admit right now that Georgetown's beers are not my favorite. Do I still like them? Oh hells yes. They are tasty and prolific. I know of no place in town that ~doesn't~ offer a tap of Manny's as a Seattle standard in this city. Georgetown brews are part of what Seattle is, and I have to say their brewery/tasting room is making itself one of my favorites in the city. No fuss here. No frills. Lines for growlers and kegs. Free samples of whatever you want to try. All very nice -- but man. Those growler fills. You are looking at $8 a pop on a normal day, which considering a pint of Manny's averages $5 throughout town...well. You are getting an excellent deal! Add specials like the one running this week up until the Superbowl -- 2 growler fills for $12 (12th Man! Go Hawks!), or for those of you mathematically challenged that's $6 a fill. I kind of wish I brought ALL the growlers I own this last visit just to stock my fridge full of good beer at a killer price. Service has always been great here. Efficient fills, friendly staff chatting you up about your favorite brews around town. I have no complaints there beyond a POS system that sometimes gets a little too complicated. Georgetown Brewing. I bookmarked Georgetown Brewing based on their close proximity to the airport and 5 star Yelp rating alone. I didn't bother to read the reviews until I was almost there. Classic n00b mistake. In the end it all worked out. They only offer free tasters of all their beer on tap, yet they don't sell pints or anything to drink in the taproom. It's all about filling up your kegs and growlers. The prices were excellent. About $5-8 per growler fill. $5 to buy their glass or $2 extra if you bring your own. They had several different sizes of kegs based on your needs. I know if I lived in Seattle I would need a kegerator to take advantage of this brilliant concept. As for those free tasters? There wasn't a bad tasting beer among the several I tried. The Johnny Utah Citra Pale and 9LB Porter were my favorites in particular. The Tomtoberfest was excellent as well. Everything was mighty fine tasting, especially at this price point. Great tailgate and party beers to ween folks away from The dudes manning the taps were quick to get you onto your next sampler. I swear I had 5 samples in about 15 mins. It's almost too fast but it gets folks in and out. I didn't want to be a total cheapskate and just score some free hooch. I wanted to buy a bottle, especially something barrel aged but alas, they had nothing for me. Their Georgetown schwag wasn't really my style, but I promise next time to Seattle, this will be my first stop to fill up some growlers to enjoy while in town. read more

In all fairness, I have never actually BEEN to Georgetown Brewing Company, but I feel completely justified in giving them five stars, as my husband often comes home with $5 growlers filled with Manny's and Chopper's, and subsequently, good times are definitely had by all, if you know what I mean. And I think you do. Seriously, though, we heart Georgetown. When the father-in-law is in town, he stocks up on Manny's gear, because he loves beer AND his name is Manny! And we recently procured a pony keg for a party, which provided more than enough beer for days and days to follow as well. Even if I wanted to go to Georgetown myself, my husband says I would never, ever make it there, as it's pretty hard to find the first time, and I still get lost on the way to ... pretty much anywhere. You would have to be a real asshole not to enjoy yourself here. Free beer! Free beer! Free beer! They keep the tasting room simple and do it right. There are no tables, no food, and no tours. There is just one bench. The floor is concrete. While you drink your free samples, you can watch the magical brewing through a huge glass window. After the free beer, fill your growler and take the bus home because 6 samples, of 6-10% ABV brew can make you a little tipsy and a little happy. read more

This place is no frills and I love it! I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the place and the employees. They offer free flights of beer. That's right, 10 beers for FREE! What's better than free?! The employes are also very knowledgable about their beers, they were able to answer all of our quirky questions. Everyone working behind the counter had huge personalities. You could tell that they all enjoyed their work and customers. You don't find that too often anymore. Growlers are $5 and $7 to fill. They also have a merchandise section, prices were average. Beer glasses were $2. Hoodies were a little expensive at $35-$50 a pop. The most important thing was the beer and their beer is out if this world!!!! By far my favorite brewery we have visited. Lucille and Eddie are two of my favorite beers in Seattle! One thing to note is the brewery only does tasters and sells growlers so you can't go here to sit with friends over a beer. I so hope some day they make a tasting room where you can buy full pints and ride your bikes too but the very reasonably priced growlers will have to do for now. If you are a beer drinker it is a crime to visit Seattle without tasting at least one made from Georgetown. read more

Not only is the beer great, but these are some the nicest people in all the Seattle beer scene. Mannys is a staple at pretty much every pub worth a damn and for good reason, quality, consistency, flavor, balance, just an all around awesome beer. Rogers Pilsner is one of my favorite beers ever, EVER. It seems like no matter the season, what I'm eating, what time of day it is, Rogers just goes well with everything. Great deals on growlers, kegs to go, glasses, t-shirts, whatever you need all served up with a smile. Last but not least, these guys give back to the community that has given to them. How can you not be intrigued by a brewery whose directions on their web site read: "Drive down the alley and look for our sign above the loading dock."? Even though you've probably never heard of Roger's Pilsner or Chopper's Red Ale, you've encountered Manny's Pale Ale if you've been to any bar in Seattle in the past two years. Georgetown Brewery is where they brew the stuff. There is no bar, "tasting room", or tours, but there are t-shirts, glasses and growlers to purchase, and, if you're nice, they might just offer you a taste of their beer. In fact, it was Roger (of Roger's Pilsner's fame) that served me mine. Their beer is fresh and exciting and it's worth a stop if you've got time to kill and/or you're in the area. read more

I love that you are interacting with the brewers themselves. I love that it is a laid back a relaxed atmosphere. It's like I said, there is nothing to NOT love about this place! You can also buy a growler and get really inexpensive fills. Only 6 bucks for Manny's and just a couple dollars more for their seasonals. I frequently went out of my way to pick up growlers of Georgetown beers whenever hosting friends, especially ones from out of town to introduce them a standard local brewery. I When bicycling through Georgetown with my girlfriend last fall, we stopped by to grab a some free tastes. It was empty in there, so we figured we weren't intruding, though we had no intention to buy anything that particular time. By the time we were wrapping up, the taste room filled in and she was getting her last sample. At that moment (which came after I laid a pretty generous tip on the bar), she received a very snide, condescending, and unfriendly remark from one of their staff - indicating that she was an ungrateful freeloader. I understand that many folks who stop by have no intention of supporting your business, but if you're going to offer the samples, there's no need to be rude to someone partaking in it. I will no longer purchase beer from Georgetown Brewery, or any Georgetown brewed beer. There's much better beer nearby anyway: I'd recommend Two Beers or Schooner Exact. read more

Georgetown is always the first stop I make whenever I take a trip to Seattle. Nestled in the Georgetown/SoDo area, it makes for a fun stop wherever you're coming from. The first Georgetown brewed beer I had was the Lucille, poured just down the street at the 9lb. Mmmm, so good! And local! On the way from the 9lb to the brewery, you'll actually pass by Lucille street which served as inspiration for the name. Definitely one of my favorite IPA's, with its citrusy maltish taste and perfect bitter finish. After that glass, I had to check out the"tasting room" for their signature flavors (Manny's) and seasonal pours. I put tasting room in quotations because Georgetown doesn't serve food or pints - but they do offer unlimited tastings to help you decide what to fill that growler or keg with. You can even borrow a growler. Local feel, friendly vibes, and great tasting beer. You now know why it's always my first stop. p.s. Gusto Crema Coffee Ale was one of my favorite seasonal pours. I was dubious about a coffee blonde ale at first, now I crave it. Cold brewed coffee in a beer? YES PLEASE. Last time I was in Seattle, the employee told me I can pick up a bottle at Caffe Umbria (Pioneer Square) where they acquired the eponymous bean. read more

This brewery definitely deserves its 5 stars. I'm so glad that my boyfriend and I took a 40 min bus ride to the middle of no where to try this place out. However, I don't recommend taking a bus if you're visiting Seattle, uber or lyft it! What I love most about this brewery is the concept - they don't sell pints here, only free tastings and growlers/bottles to go. The goal of this concept is to give all their guests an opportunity to be educated on their beers and if one likes any of the beer, they can either 1) buy a growler to go (or bottle) or 2) go to a local restaurant/pub/bar that serves their beer. I love how generous they are with their free tastings, you can honestly taste all the beers and i recommend you to do so, because they are all great! They have a unique selection of beers. Our favorites were the dubbel and the saison. This place has a raw, industrial feel to it, so don't expect any chairs or TVs when you come in, but be prepared for a great and pretty big selection of beer. Bring your own growler, but it will cost you an additional $2 to fill up your own growler or buy one for $5. Also, the growler fills are sooo cheap for their quality! read more

Can you smell that? That sweet, sweet smell of hops. Oh sweet Jesus. The roommate and I ventured into Georgetown just to come here and are so glad we did. He left with two gorgeous t-shirts for twenty bucks. Nice t-shirts! We also left with a growler of Manny's. (Insert more ohs here.) We sampled the beers and had some great conversation with the girl working. We also looked into doing a tour. They only do it on the last Monday of each month and you need to have a reservation. The next open date was in May and sadly we will be on a road trip. However, there is a new brewery to be opening and we were promised more tours to be opened in the future. Situated in the old Rainier brewery in Georgetown, Georgetown Brewing makes some of the tastiest beers in the biz. I was there to pick up a keg of Manny's (their bitchin unfiltered pale) and after several "samples", left with an extra three growlers of Chopper Red, Superchopper, and 9lb Porter. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and all about the beer. My only complaint is that they do not bottle. I guess I am coming back to Georgetown to refill. Cest la Vie. read more

AMAZING! I am in love with the Superchop. Their growlers are cheap and they exchange them with clean/gased growlers, which is not too common. Difficult to find but once you are in, everyone offers something to sample and the staff are great. Outstanding. I'm not the biggest beer drinker despite the German blood but I can definitely appreciate the care this team takes in crafting their brews. A fine gentleman at Georgetown Liquor Company recommended we come as soon as we swooned over the Manny's he served with our (eye-rollingly delicious) lunch. Lisa (what a fabulous name...) shared with us 5 other tastings of their beer and we were hooked. Chopper's Red Ale was hands down my favorite -- "what is going on in my mouth oh my god?!!!" I believe was my response. It was complex, tasty, and refreshing without any of the bitterness I tend to associate with darker beers. All the other varieties were really close seconds-- FOR THE OUT-OF-TOWNER: Their beer only comes in growlers (refillable glass jars) and their beer is unpasteurized so if your leaving by plane it is extremely not recommended to take any with you. This was a hard pill to swallow so we drank all we could the days we were there and bought a ton of swag to remind us that we should go back soon. If we were to live there, one can purchase a growler for like $7-ish and then keep bringing it up their to refill for about the same price-- beer heaven. Can't say anything better, this place will dazzle connoisseurs and convert naysayers-- enjoy! read more

It's in a sort of rough location, but Georgetown Brewing stands as a gleaming oasis for fresh, local beer. Best part are the free tasters they offer (although you cannot get pints.) I also like how they have a separate line for growler fills and keg orders. Usual suspects (Manny's, Lucile, Bodhi) are available year round and seasonal/specials rotate fairly often.
