Saw Deathtrap at the Georgetown Palace Playhouse 809 S. Austin Avenue directly behind the Georgetown Palace Theatre, Georgetown, TX, 78626. Love the venue. It is a quaint little theater that seats a much smaller audience. So happy to see they are requiring masks since there is no way to social distance. The actors did a great job and set changes in between scenes were done via black light. Went with a friend and we had front row seats. Not a bad seat in the theater. Concessions were available for $2 each. Mostly candy and chips. Can't wait to see the next production here.

Really excited to see the play "Almost Maine." Was disappointed though that they only offer digital playbills--not sure why physical playbills were removed due to covid? It removes a romantic aspect of attending the theater & makes us all long for nostalgic times again.

Have never seen a bad play or musical at this homegrown theater. It is the best among Central Texas gems.

Our experience with Arts Avenue was frustrating and unprofessional…read more We paid recital and costume fees months in advance, with the understanding that key details would be provided later in the season. Those details--rehearsal schedules, dates, and location--were never communicated. When we asked for clarification, we were told the studio was still working through the details, which is unacceptable given that families had already paid. To make matters worse, the studio attempted to attribute the confusion to my child rather than taking accountability for their lack of communication. It also became clear that the studio prioritizes its competition team, while other students receive significantly less organization and preparation--despite paying for recital participation and costumes. We expected a much higher level of professionalism and transparency.

There were many cancelled…read moreclasses, teachers changed, there was a lack of communication with parents, the coaching my child received was minimal. I emailed at least five times with concerns and never got a response. The production itself was also really disappointing, and I felt it made my child hesitant to be involved in productions moving forward. They preformed scenes they NEVER rehearsed. What should have been a 50 min show was 1.5 hours, largely because the teacher was feeding them all their lines. My child has been in four different productions, some for much younger kids. This production was by far the least developed and "roughest" to get through. These concerns seem to be tied to larger business issues. Although I know some folks who have had god experience with the dance side of things, the theater program is underserved and it was incredibly frustrating.

Parking is plentiful, which is always a win. The guac was a standout, and everyone loved the crispy gochujang cauliflower, it was basically fried veggies drenched in a flavorful sweet sauce with a nice little kick. What's not to love. Pita came warm and on point. The white bean hummus was recommended, but I couldn't get past the texture and look (reminded me of raw chicken breast paste). It tasted fine, but the appearance was tough to overlook. Alcoholic drinks were solid, a plus thar they're served in nice glasses with beautiful presentation. Look forward to coming back to try the main courses and do a game of bowling.

I really would rate this 3.5 stars…read more It's a pretty cool place. Entertainment was great (band=Suede), food was good, drinks were good. Service was fair, at best. We were a table of 12, but that wasn't really the problem. One person who ordered, her food was given to someone else. When she inquired, she ordered again and it took over an hour to get her food. Her second beer never arrived. Unfortunately, she said this is the norm here. She comes here often, mainly for the entertainment. The server was quick to take our original orders, but follow up was zero. No attempts to get second drinks, any other food, nothing. It wasn't that busy, so I'm not sure why the service was so bad. I flagged him down for my second drink after waiting over an hour, and my friend was still waiting for her beer. It was like our table was in the ignore zone. I would come back again, but would probably order from the bar for drinks. 20% tip was included in the bill because of large party. I'm sure my friend was pissed about that considering her service was terrible. Mine was meh. Overall it was a great evening with friends. The good outweighed the bad, but don't expect great service. Enjoy the entertainment value here - Thats what makes this place special.
