Funny story about this place. So in the 90's there was a barn sales lot on RT112 in Medford. Your probably asking yourself, What the heck is a barn anyway? One doesn't "Need" a barn and what does one even put in a barn?? Is it like a Silo? Does one store corn or grain?? Man, you are just filled with questions! I live in Long Island and work in NYC. In the 90's I built a house. Wait, I more like GC's my house. I hired a plumber, a painter, a sheet rock guy and we all built this thing together. Kinda like a collaboration, where all I did was swing a hammer and paid everyone. Well, I need a place for my car. My house is on a hill so I want a detected garage. I call my builder and there is a structure that was built probably in 1930. Well to tear it down and build a one car garage, 30K. 30K?? What that hell man! So I drive by this place on 112 and I see a huge barn! I mean this sucka has a loft!! Car on the bottom and a man cave loft on top to play cards with my buddies and smoke stogies, yes!!! I walk into the place and the salesperson is Amish. I tell him I want the barn with the loft! He says, well you have to have a permit from the Stony Brook historic center before I can come. Oh, Hogwash. Here is cash. I'll have the area cleared for this sucka. Here you go. Sir, I can not sell you the most expensive barn on my lot without a permit. Are we in New York????? I'm all bummed and I drive by "Gera Gardens" . They sell sheds, swing sets and barns! I find a nice single car barn with double doors (No loft) I'm thinking I'll be like Batman and bash thru the doors when I want to drive my car. haha Very reasonably priced, I had the old structure torn down. I bought some gravel and had it all graded for my new garage/barn. The truck driver comes down my block. They put down some platform for the barn to rest on, then it was the coolest thing ever, the barn was on this huge "swing arm" and was rested on the platform. I payed a lot of money for a pavillion. They built it crooked and left LARGE METAL STAPLES all over my yard. They also left cigarette butts on in my yard among other literal TRASH. Avoid this place. read more

Gera Gardens - DANGEROUS AVOID BUSINESS!!! - Sheds & Outdoor Storage Near Me - Mount Sinai, New York

Last year I got a 1/2 cord of wood from this business. The wood was great, it burned cleanly and helped to warm the house. I went back this year and what a big disappointment. I paid for the 1/2 cord again, a pallet. When I started to stack the wood, it was wet, dirty and had mold on most of the pieces. The cuts were big and this wood is much different than what I had before. I though maybe just the top layer was wet, but it was most of the pallet. I am now stuck with this wood for the entire winter season. My fires are hard to manage and i am buying Dura flame logs to help keep the fire hot. I was going to purchase a Christmas-tree from them To support this business, but now I am thinking otherwise. I will not purchase from them again. Very disappointed read more

Used Lived In Sheds with New Shed Prices: * After much research, the best value was to buy a shed from the PA Amish and have it built onsite. My wife convinced me to buy local - what a mistake. * Many of the sheds on the lot are used for their business storage. ATV's. Truck Parts. Paint. Etc... * Now that I can see the unit in the day light, the outside shed is dirty and multiple penetrations and damaged wood. * The inside of the shed has grease and paint on the floor and several points of damaged wood. * It looks like I just bought a used shed. Homeless People Living in the Sheds: * The owner shared that the sheds are locked each night because of a local homeless issue. * People seeking shelter find nightly accommodations in Gera Gardens sheds. * The police are frequently called to evict the families living in the sheds but they find a way back into the sheds. * My shed smells like urine inside. Questionable Accounting Methods: * The owners offered a 3% discount if I didn't use my credit card to pay for the shed. The owner shared that they do this to eliminate the credit card fees. * The invoice says that I can pay by "cash or bank check". Upon delivery, I handed the driver a bank check from Chase Bank written out to Gera Gardens for the exact amount. * A very irate owner phoned, called me a liar, accused me of trying to rip him off for the 3% and demanded that I pay cash or he was going to take me to court. * One has to wonder his motivation for such an aggressive position. Having a bad day? Sales Tax evasion? Prior customer misfortunes? In the end, I made the effort to go to the bank to get the requested bank check and ultimately was forced to return to Gera Gardens to pay the additional 3% to cover the credit card fees even though I paid with a bank check which requires no credit card fees. What a scam!!! * According to prior on-line reviews, my experience is not isolated....I wish that I has done some more research. Poor Customer Service: * The guys in the yard were very helpful. The same guy in the yard was the one who delivered the shed. I made them coffee and tipped them well. * The owner is a customer service disaster. * I hesitate to call and have them fix the issues above for his response might be a summons to attend small claims court. * Never again will I buy anything from Gera Gardens. I want nothing from the vendor. I have paid in full (+3%) and have closed this chapter. My goal is educate the yelp community and future customers about the Gera Gardens experience. I had a shed installed last Fall and at that time, the two men installing it did not have the right color paint to complete a touch up. They told me to go back to the office in the spring and ask for them to come back to finish. By the springtime, one side of the shed had sunken and it was uneven on the blocks and scraps of shims that they had used to support it. This past Spring, I went into the office to ask for them to touch up the paint as I had been directed and I spoke to the actual owner ...Andre Gera....who said that they would call me within the week. I never heard from them. The entire summer went by and I returned in September with pictures of how the shed was now uneven due to a sinking corner. Again Mr Gera himself was present...kept us waiting for quite a while while he sealed a deal on the phone and then wrote up a work order ( just like he did in the Spring) and said we would get a call in the coming week. That was 6 weeks ago. I strongly advise avoiding working with this outfit - they could care less about their customers. read more

I will never purchase anything from this company again. I purchased a mailbox that costs nearly $500. The knob for the mailbox has come off twice in a week. The first time they were very nice but it took about 3 days to get anyone to come out and fix it. It happened again today and the woman was very rude. She told me someone must be tampering with my mailbox and this is the last time they will fix it. That is ludicrious! The screw is inside the mailbox. No one would open it and unscrew it and then close it. The mailbox is clearly defective. I also bought a $4000 playhouse and now am concerned it will fall apart. STOP! Do not do business with this place. They appear friendly and normal when selling to you but when it comes time to deliver they are absolute madmen. Andre the manager cannot be trusted in his words and is an absolute loose cannon. I bought a $6,000 shed to keep my business local. What a disaster! Now the fight is on to get my money back He has cursed me out out and hung up on me twice and took my shed back. Oh, my bad act? I left my sprinklers on the day before. There were a list of hidden fees as well. Even though I paid $800 for assembly, I was advised if it took longer than 45 minutes there were more charges. Also since delivery from curb to spot was greater than 50', additional charge! When I called Andre told me to "F" off. He Took the shed back and said he would refund my money. Guess what, they won't refund my money. My bank and New York State Consumer Protection now involved. Home Depot has the same sheds, what a mistake I made going local. These people have no clue how to do business, my wife and I wanted to buy a shed, we told them what we wanted, they said we would have to order them and it would take 3 weeks. We told them we wanted the shed with the carriage doors. Now we are dealing with the owners with this purchase. Tara writes up the order and has me sign it. Keep in mind we told her specifically that we wanted the shed with the carriage doors. So we wait for the shed, it comes on Saturday and no carriage doors on the shed. I called Andre and he said we got what we ordered (wrong). He didn't even take responsibility for making a mistake, instead he told me it would cost an additional $319.00. I already paid over $4,000.00 for this shed. I told him this is not what we wanted. It didn't matter to him that we were unsatisfied. They sold a shed and lost a future customer. I have three friends that needs sheds and they asked me about Gera Gardens, I explained to them what happened to me and they will not be going to Gera Gardens for there shed. We went to Gera gardens this past week to get our Christmas tree, we bring it in our house 2 days later and it's already dried out! We had to bring the tree back and they refused to give us our $ back, only store credit!! How is this good business?? It's AWEFUL!!! It's Christmas and this is how they choose to do business!!! I've been meaning to write a review for a while. A few months ago we walked into Gera Gardens for a shed for our yard. We met with the owner and later his wife who were both very pleasant and knowledgeable. They were really friendly and even entertained our 2 year old daughter. We picked out our shed with no issues or concerns. Then, on a whim, I stumbled on all these bad reviews on them. I started freaking out, because we had paid half of the price as a deposit. I can tell you that my husband and I had a fantastic experience with Gera Gardens, and did not experience one issue with the owners or people who delivered and built the shed on our property. Sometimes things do come up, for us, it was that the window we requested didn't come, and needed to be cut out. They took care of it right away, same day with no issues or attitude from anyone. That being said, we prepared our shed site, as it said to do on the invoice. You need to research what you may need to do to prepare the site for the shed. Don't let the bad reviews deter you. What a wonderful experience! After shopping around for months and pricing out exactly what I wanted I landed at Gera Gardens! The staff was friendly, NOT pushy, and very helpful with answering all of my questions and concerns. Originally I was in the market for a gazebo but ended up buying a 14x14 Vinyl Deluxe Pavilion with a double roof and cupola. WOW!!!!!!!!! the delivery staff was fantastic, very polite and professional. They were at my property for 2 days working and they didn't leave anything behind. I am overjoyed every time I look out my back window, and especially when I get to entertain outside. I receive so many compliments on the structure and I ALWAYS recommend Gera Gardens! Beware of buying from this company. Their structures do not hold up over time. When repairs are needed, they do not honor their warranty!
