very poor at communication. All of my info fell through the cracks. my bumper arrived to the shop, was never called to schedule to get my bumper fixed. bumper was re-ordered was never contacted again! was told if parts sit in the shop they get thrown away. I've called to get a refund. Guess what never received a call about my refund. the other lady who answered my phone call did not know about my refund. They dropped my call! My experience at Gerber Collision in Bellingham, WA was not one I ever want to relieve. I took our truck to Gerber to have a repair done on the bumper. This is where our insurance company suggested. I wanted to have our fuel door replaced as well. The fuel door wasn't part of the claim, so an out-of-pocket expense. I dropped the truck off in the middle of July while we were on vacation. I got an update every day saying the truck was done, than I would get another text saying it wasn't done. Upon returning from our vacation I called to see if the truck was finished. I was told that the bumper was finished, however the fuel door wasn't. I asked when it would be finished and was told not until the middle of August. I informed them I would come and get my truck and bring it back when the part came in. The lady on the phone told me I would need to Pay the full amount of the fuel door when I picked up the truck. I asked her why would I pay for something that wasn't done (they removed the old fuel door)? At this point she got very rude and told me I should have paid for it in full when I dropped the truck off (even though no one said anything about payment at the time), and they wouldn't return the truck until I paid in full. I told her I would be coming to pick up my truck and I was not going to pay for something that wasn't done. My husband picked the truck up and he did pay for the price of the fuel door part that they had to order. It was a few weeks, and I hadn't heard from them, so I called. They said the part had come in and scheduled me. Took time off work, went in and it was the wrong door. Attempt #2 husband took time off work, wrong door again. Attempt #3-time off work, went to our scheduled appointment and was told I didn't have an appointment. After asking for the lady that made the appointment, I was told she didn't work there anymore. Then they told me I thought you said you needed an estimate. Finally, they came back and said their manager wasn't in and I couldn't get my fuel door put on. I asked for the original door back, told them I was done and going to go somewhere else. I asked for our money back and conveniently their card reader was broke. I asked if they could just send a check and was told it would be about 2 weeks before I received the check. I said fine. Two weeks later they called and said they couldn't send me a check because I wasn't a vender and I needed to come in with the card that was used to get a refund. After a 30 minute wait in their office a refund was given. I will say that whoever did the work on the bumper itself did a decent job and the inside of my truck came back nicely detailed. read more

My boyfriend made an appointment one month ago, come to find out whoever scheduled him the appointment did so on a day they weren't even open. When he called back to figure out what had happened, he found out he wasn't even in their system. So, he was scheduled another appointment, where he clearly told the woman the current condition of his car, and she told him it was okay for it to be towed in. Fast forward to this morning, he uses his last free tow to get the car in, and immediately gets a call from the woman that was working. She was VERY rude to him, and told him they wouldn't accept his car because the tires wouldn't roll, and he should just "call his insurance company and tell them to total it out"(car is not totaled) When the tow truck driver returned, he informed my boyfriend that Gerber didn't even have any of his information or have his appointment in their system, they didn't even attempt to get his car off of the truck, and they aggressively told the driver that they weren't accepting any new cars until next year, so don't drop anymore off. Also to add on, the tires do roll as that was how the driver was able to get the car on and off of the truck. The only thing the car needed was a jumpstart, as it had been sitting. Now my boyfriend has no more free tows, and has wasted a significant amount of time waiting for this company that has now told him twice that they would work on his car. I was extremely disappointed when I found out 8 months after my car accident that my car wasn't fix correctly causing me a flat from a bad alignment. When I brought my car back to see what happened they tried to blame me for my alignment problem. They had sent my car to Midas to fix it and when they told me I could pick it up it still wasn't fixed. I took it to a different repair shop and they found that I needed a new control arm put in because the one they put in my car wasn't the right kind. read more

I have had a number of interactions with Gerber through three small accidents and a windshield repair. They are always professional, good communicators, coordinate well with the insurance companies, and did a nice job on the car. Three things stood out as going above. 1. When appraising the car initially, removing a great deal of black from the side of the car that had been left there by the other vehicle's tire. 2. Detailing the inside of the car, as well as the outside. 3. Offering to replace a lost umbrella when I called looking for it, even though I wasn't exactly sure when I had last seen it. read more

Parked too close to a concrete pole, got some cracks in my bumper. Went to a number of body shops in town and Gerber was the last. They estimated the best price for the least amount of time, so I made an appointment to get my car in. They said it would take a day, and I've dealt with body shops before, so I knew that was subject to change, but they weren't kidding. Dropped it off at 9AM and it was done by 5PM the same day, and they did it for the cost they estimated, which was totally awesome. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review as I wanted to share my experience: I brought my Toyota Tundra into Gerber Collision & Glass recently on a USAA insurance claim. Thank goodness Gerber is the preferred choice of USAA. Everything about the experience was exceptional: * The quote process was smooth and easy (and extremely friendly). * Gerber worked quickly and efficiently with my insurance company regarding payment. * Gerber got my vehicle in right away and was flexible with my demanding January business travel schedule. * They finished the vehicle quickly and the work looks amazing! On top of all this, Gerber needed to keep my vehicle over the weekend for some final touches. They arranged and covered the cost of a rental truck for me so I was able to complete some important projects over the weekend. This was way above and beyond the call of duty, and sincerely appreciated. This is the type of phenomenal customer service that you rarely see these days. Last year, my wife's Toyota sedan was hit by another vehicle and received some significant damage. Her experience with Gerber was wonderful as well. I'm pretty sure this is a new shop and not Bellingham Collision Repair, if I am mistaken, sorry! This review is for Gerber Collision & Glass. My car was on the receiving end of a rear end collision which left me with a back and neck injury, and lots of paperwork. If you've been in a similar situation, you know what a headache it is, when all you want to do is rest your body. I took my car to 3 different shops for estimates. Gerber was first, and I was met by a very nice man named Kevin, who is the general manager. I asked for an estimate and he gladly did it within 10 minutes, no appointment necessary. I immediately liked his pleasant and cheerful demeanor, and he was also very kind in answering all of my girly questions (I know very little about cars!). It's always so obnoxious to be a girl and walk into a car shop and get greeted by greedy men who think you're stupid, as was my experience with the other shops I took my car to, and it was so refreshing to not have to be on edge or embarrassed about the questions I was having. His estimate was also the cheapest out of everyone I took my car too, though that didn't matter because the other persons car insurance would be paying for it anyway. He said my car would take 4-5 days to fix, but he would throw in a rental for 2 days. Sweet! Needless to say, by the end of my 3 estimates, I ended up calling Kevin and making an appointment with him for the following Monday. In the days that followed, however, I began realizing that a rental for only 2 days wouldn't be enough, and I was feeling overwhelmed with the whole insurance process since Gerber wasn't one of the companies my car insurance had a deal with. I called and left a message on Saturday to let him know that I just couldn't have it done on Monday, even though we had an appointment. On Monday, Kevin called and let me know that HE had taken care of calling my insurance company and he ALSO was going to offer me a rental car for the entire time my car was in the shop!!! So there went all my worries and I dropped my car off with him within a couple hours, got my rental, and went on my way! He and another lovely person who worked in the shop, Laurie, called every other day to update me on the progress of my vehicle. By Friday, the car was ready to be picked up, and when I got it, it was clean and sparkley, inside and out, and the work they did was superb. I should also mention, that I needed one of my tail lights replaced from something other than the accident, so I asked him what it would cost to do that, and he got a new tail light and put it in at cost. What a guy!!! All in all, the entire experience was completely stress free and I was left feeling really happy about the job Gerber did and the service I got. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get their car fixed at a reasonable cost around Bellingham. They are a small shop and you don't need an appointment for an estimate, but because it is still Gerber, there is a nationwide warranty. Kevin has his cute dog Shadow that hangs out inside too, so it's a very warm and welcoming environment. read more
