Recently had my car fixed there and had a good experience. I was in an accident and the person who hit me asked if we could not go through insurance..I agreed and Gerber was one of the only places I called that accepted self pay. Most places required you to go through insurance. The estimate was very quick (I went in December 2021) but they didn't have any openings to fix the car until mid February! That's great business for them so I wasn't bothered by waiting. While the car was being repaired I got a call daily telling me what was going on with the car, which I did appreciate. Took a bit longer than I thought to repair but everything worked out in the end. Would def recommend! read more

I have had my car into Gerber three times for repairs. Every time I took it there the service was fantastic. what they said they were going to do, they did. When they said it would be done, it was. In one instance I took the car back over a year later for something I noticed and they made an appointment for the next day to adjust the hood. I showed up and they took 30 minutes to fix. Hope I never have to see a repair shop again but if I do it's going to be Gerber Collision in LaGrange. Kudos to everyone working at that facility. read more

I have taken my car to this location one time before for body work and they did a great job. I recently bought a '23 Ford Maverick and grazed a concrete pillar in a downtown parking garage with my right rear passenger door. Broke off the door handle and had some scratches below the handle. I took it in and Gerber gave me an estimate that i felt was reasonable (not turned into insurance) so i booked the appointment. They said they could probably do it in a day and they were correct! And the job they did was outstanding. They replaced the door handle but the real magic was what they did with the scratches. I brought them touch up paint and you barely can tell anything happened. Just beautiful. They even washed the car and dressed the tires! And they went around the truck with the touch up paint and touched up any dings on the front bumper, door edge, etc. without me asking for it. But the best thing is the people were so nice, from the woman at the front desk to the guy that gave the estimate and the other folks i came in contact with. Just outstanding service. I brought my car here for a front fender ding fix, and they gave it back to me with what looked like a can of clear topcoat had spilled all the way down the side, glueing the gas cap shut. So, I had to leave my car there again for another week so they could repaint it. When I went to pick it up, I was all ready to let bygones be bygones. If they had a normal manager, he would have apologized for the inconvenience or possibly thanked me for my patience. But no. This manage instead HARANGUED me and my son for half an hour about how the car looked like this when I brought it in, and they ALL noticed it and even documented it but somehow mysteriously NO one there bothered mentioning it to me by phone or text or asked me if I'd like them to repair this, too, which means not only are they stupid lying gaslighters but they missed an opportunity to make $. So his b.s. story not only doesn't hold up, but it was hugely insulting, because he was suggesting that I was the liar who blamed them for this mess, like yeah I glued my own gas cap shut with some kind of topcoat paint the likes of which you would expect to find in an auto body shop, but somehow I didn't notice that and well anyway ... I clammed up because he was like that kind of abusive personality who won't let you disagree but would rather wear you down until you get really passive and end up apologizing for somehow inconveniencing HIM. He kept saying, "Do you understand what I'm saying ..." OVER and OVER again, not liking that I wasn't being all apologetic and weepy, I guess. Yeah, I understand what you're saying. You're calling me a liar. I finally asked for my car key so I could go home, and then he just stopped talking and didn't say one more word. Not thanks for your business, nothing. My Truck was wrecked on October 15th, 2022 it took almost 4 months for the return of my vehicle. The first time I picked it up I was only able to make it 2 blocks from the place when all hell broke loose. I returned the truck because the transmission wasn't shifting. They told Statefarm that the transmission needed to be replaced. State Farm authorized the replacement of the transmission. Gerber called me and said they had to order the trans, after a week of waiting I received a text saying " your truck is at the alignment shop, it doesn't need a transmission, it needs a clutch assembly. Being an ASE-certified Technician I called Gerber to ask how can my truck need a clutch assembly it's an automatic transmission. Lynette told me the adjuster said, "Even though you have an automatic trans it still has a clutch assembly. Really !! Darn if 1day passed. Gerber called and said, " Your truck is ready". I went to pick up my truck and on the way home the person that drove me to the repair facility pulled me over to tell me that my rear wheel looked as if it was about to fall off the truck so, I got out to inspect the wheel and that's when I noticed that the rim that was on the drivers rear was rusted, upon further inspection I notice that all four of the tires were Firestone tires and in fact were bald AF. I never put firestone tires on my truck my receipt for the tires clearly shows the continental tire in a 245 50 18, and the bald tires were Firestone Firehawk's in a 245 55 18. My truck was hit on the left front door and fender damaging the wheel axle, possibly the control arm, rack&pinion, and strut assembly. Below are pictures of what was installed on my truck by this F ed up place. To think that they would place these worn rusted parts on my truck placing myself, my family, and anyone that rides in my truck's life in jeopardy. They claimed per the invoice the truck had a 4-wheel alignment, which I call b,s. cause no respectable alignment shop would ever perform an alignment of any kind on a vehicle with worn frontend parts like this. This whole ordeal has turned out to be a freaking nightmare. Take pictures and mark your stuff if you choose to deal with this place. BTW they literally drove the hell out of my truck I also found someone's lunch, potato chips, and doughnuts in the console compartment. You can't make this type of ish up !! My next stop is an attorney and a Honda Dealership. Marshal Fields them people a Gerber in countryside. I'm also going to their corporate office in Elmhurst. read more

Most people know it's a Cut throat business similar to Car Sales/Salesman approach to making top dollar on sales & service. Gerber collision left a very bad taste in my mouth not only with their arrogant approach to estimating a cars damage , yet their unwillingness to offer other options . Oh BTW If you and Corporate office are (mostly likely you're only interested to Sponge Insurance companies to Max as well as the Customer ) truly concerned about your potential customers pleasant experience and good service ; young would Staff a completely Honest fair priced Estimator team of individuals who could give a more affordable option with repairing their vehicles! P.S. I bought & found the exact match Tailgate/Liftgate for my 2005 Honda Odyssey at a Salvage yard 2 hrs away for $90 but only paid $45 ! On 50% day on Wednesday's!:-) I put some touch up paint on the scratches on bumper and my car looks 100% better for YES only $45! That beats by a Longshot GERBER COLLISIONS ESTIMATE OF $2,082! Ha! I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Of course, anyone who comes here has had something bad happen to their car so it's never a place you love to visit, but everyone was super friendly and accommodating. My car was done on time (4 days) and they even sent me text messages every day to tell me what was going on with my car. I loved that! I hate when you take your car in somewhere and you are frustrated because no one tells you the status of what's going on with your car. They washed and vacuumed my car before giving it back to me and it looked brand new when I went to pick it up. They were fast, friendly and i really loved the little text messages I would get! State farm recommended Gerber. They tried to use an aftermarket glass to replace mine. Then said they would order factory glass. Two weeks later, still no glass. They said they ordered glass, but did not. A bunch of nonsense and excuses. Finally went with someone else after trying with 4 phone calls to get a resolution. I would give one star, but past performance before the Gerber takeover was decent. Matt from customer service did call to apologize. I was very impressed with the communication and turnover of this place. I dropped my car off after hours on a Monday night (easy system to leave your car key in a safe place) and my car was ready to be picked up Thursday night. No one likes to have an accident. I am no exception to the rule, and have found myself being a repeat customer for Gerber Collision and Glass. Let's just say they made the process pain free. First of all, the staff could not have been nicer. As a woman, I sometimes feel intimidated going to a mechanic. This was not the case with Gerber. Chris took care of me, and was great about updating the progress on my vehicle. They even finished 2 days early! When it was time to pick up my car, I told Chris I was not sure if I would make it by closing time. Without skipping a beat, Chris offered to stay after the place closed to wait for me Love that!!! Many thanks to Gerber Collision and Glass. This is the second time I've used them for collision repairs. Just got my goldmist Metallic Malibu back today. perfect color match. The staff is in constant communication as to the progress of the work. Super accommodating for getting my rental car returned. Of course, the work speaks for itself. Flawless. i just had a rear bumper refinished, but it took about 48 hours. Very speedy, and a small project in the whole scheme of things, but my last car had several thousand dollars damage to it, and a very tough color to match. Gerber made it look stunning. They vacuumed out all the broken glass inside of my car (my car had been broken into) as well as all the dog hair in my backseat that takes forever to get out! Usually this location does great work. I have been there several times while it was cars collision before they were bought out. Went in for a simple fix on my vehicle and when they were finished I noticed that my bumper , the repair that was to just straighten a brand new bumper out, was still crooked. They took it back in and tried again and the end result was that's the best we can get it. They said they are never the same once they are in an accident. I have had it repaired twice before when it was cars collision and they got it perfect. Then after I got home I noticed they had scratched up my brand new bumper they were trying to straighten that cost me $300. They were very nice and they didn't charge much though read more

i had came to gerber to see if they can remove some badges off the trunk of my car. a soon as i walked though the door i was generously greeted by a gentleman named John. i explained to him what i was trying to get done. he took my keys and pulled my car into their shop. i waited no more then 30 min and the quality of work exceed my expectation. i expected some kinda left over residue or fad on the paint from the old badges but none of that was present as if the car never had them from the factory. i am clearly satisfied with the professionalism and quality of work at this location.i will definitely do business with them in the future read more
