It seems inevitable that eventually, your vehicle's windshield will come into contact with a rock…read morethat impacts hard enough to chip, crack or shatter your windshield. And in New Orleans, the inevitable seems to happen a lot more frequently than everywhere else. Our Subaru Forester experienced a rock chip that we immediately had repaired (by a different company). Unfortunately, the repair did not work and the crack spread quickly. I called the dealer (Bryan Subaru) as my car is equipped with EyeSight (Subaru's crash avoidance system), which uses cameras to look through the windshield at the road and traffic ahead. Once a new windshield is installed, the EyeSight has to be re-calibrated. Bryan uses Glass America exclusively so I gave them a call and spoke with Peyton. Peyton very nice on the phone and was very informative. Since I wanted a factory OEM glass instead of an aftermarket glass, I needed approval from my insurance company as either glass was rather pricey. She worked directly with my insurance company and I was approved for an OEM glass. The process was fairly easy, even though it took a few calls. The only minor SNAFU involved the day of the installation. I opted to have the glass changed at the dealer, as they kept the windshield (and necessary molding) in stock. I had a 9:30 appointment so that immediately following the installation, I could have the EyeSight re-calibrated. I asked Glass America if I should be at the dealer at a certain time and they advised that the driver would contact me on the route. Low and behold, I got a call from Trey with Bryan Subaru service who advised me that Glass America was on-site looking for me. I spoke with Glass America installer Mike who advised that they report to Bryan Subaru first thing every morning and I should have been advised to be there. Nevertheless, he offered to pick up the windshield and do the installation at my house and was at my house in less than 30 minutes. Installer Mike was the consummate professional with over 26 years in the glass industry. It was immediately apparent that he was highly skilled in his trade and the job didn't take long at all (just under 1 hour). He was very informative, neat in appearance and apologized for the miscommunication. He was also very clear on how long we should wait before moving the car, washing the car by hand or washing it in an automated high-pressure car wash. Had it not been for the miscommunication regarding the correct installation time, I probably would have given them 5 stars.

Vey unprofessional. Was never told that the glass would take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to come in…read more They expect you to just sit around waiting for the glass to come in as oppose to communicating with the customer. They say they have "no way to track" their orders which is absolutely ridiculous. They are very rude, wouldn't recommend or use this place.
