Everything was great from the beginning to the end. Todd and his team are one of the best shops in the valley. Had my truck at caliber collision originally and They messed up my electronics, took it to a second shop Guy didn't keep his word and never worked on the truck said he was too busy, found Gerber off of Dinah shore and took the truck over to Todd and they were happy to help me out. The manager Todd said truck would take a month to dis assemble, be completely painted and re assembled. They had it taken apart completely painted and re assembled in 2 weeks. The finish was better than factory OEM paint. Their buffer Nathan did a great job paint looks like glossy glass no orange peel. Adrain kept in contact through out the disassemble process along with Todd. The front office staff was great as-well. Kind and respectful. I wouldn't take my car to any other shop. read more

Gerber took care of all damages to our car, after a semi truck's tire tread blew onto the freeway in the front/side/underside of our car, causing over $3000 in damages. Gerber took care of the car, Lee was awesome, going out of his way to ensure that the car was ready earlier than promised, (our insurance covered all but the $100 deductible) and we were pleasantly surprised by the attitude of all the employees here! Super friendly but really professional. Update: About a month later, the rear window on the passenger's side of the car retracted into the door and although I could hear the motor working, the window was not able to close. (Of course, it was raining and blowing - and shiver me timbers! There's me, on the freeway going 70 mph, feeling like I'm on a motorcycle! Wind-blown hair, rain on the upper half of my body). Well, Gerber to the rescue AGAIN!!! Went in to see them - they were able to raise the window (how dry I am!!!) and they ordered a replacement track system (?) Called me a few days later to come on back - took 30 minutes, and in the unbelievable act of outstanding customer service, the manager, Todd, informed me that our insurance would NOT be billed. We would NOT be billed. They were doing this as a courtesy to us!!! Could not believe it! These people ARE what customer service means. They do awesome work, with an awesome attitude. My first clue should have been When I dropped off my car and the service lady and the guy she was walking in with look at my car and started laughing. My bumper was hit and ripped off by a truck so AAA told me to take it there. After 4 or 5 days I was told by one person they can't warranty the repairs and can't do the work cause they can't match my paint. I ask them at drop off will matching paint be an issue and I was told it wouldn't. Then I got another call telling me they can't warranty the work because my radiator support is damaged. The support was damaged over 12 years ago and does not touch my bumper. I've been a mechanic for over 20 years. They could have replaced my radiator support or reshaped it, and fixed the bumper but instead they told me to they declined to work on it. I would have paid for it. My bumper was hit in the corner no where near my radiator support. I had to get it towed to Matthew's Auto body whom was highly recommended. Matthew exact word is " why would I care about your radiator support when I'm fixing your bumper." My goal was to repaint the whole car. Gerber never asked anything, just declined to work on it because previous damage to my support. It's amazing how Matthew's had no issue and Warrantied the work he did for life. Also I decided to repaint the whole car and get new lights, new trim pieces and more. I restored the whole car and Love Matthew's Autobody. I would have had Gerber restore it, but they never asked. read more

Best place ever for collision repair. After some jerk did a hit and run on our parked car, the insurance company directed us to Gerber. I did a quick search and was reassured by the reviews that they'd be good. Turns out they were better than good. The repair was great including the repainting. You'd never know there was a problem. They also cleaned the car, which we hadn't expected, fixed a burned-out tail light they noticed when we were about to drive away, and even picked us up to get the car when Enterprise didn't have a driver for us. They finished the work in two days, unheard of in my experience. They were also super personable, funny, and nice. I can't say enough about Lee, Rita, and Todd. They went beyond the call of duty. If you are looking for quality work done right the 1st, on time, at a fair price, go somewhere else. After being quoted 9k for my sand damage claim for basically 1 side of my veh, first they said I'll prob need to submit a 2nd claim. Then they said we'll look closer once it's in the back. Then about a month later they said it was finished, but new total billed to my insurance, AllState was over 14k. Problem is, not one additional part or work from the initial estimate was done on the passenger side. I know insurance fraud when I see it, I know inflated labor hours to justify the higher final bill. Gerber tried to use badly refurbished parts, installed parts as new that clearly were not new, and provided excuse after excuse. Even tried to say the pits in the "New" windshield must have occurred during the 1.5hr it was parked out front waiting to be picked up. After one call to AllState regarding their authorized repair shop, my vehicle was back in the shop for another almost 2 weeks. So about 6.5 weeks later only after complaining to AllState about the poor service and lies at Gerber, did we get our vehicle back almost right. I will say as a sorry to us, Gerber did have several small door dings around the vehicle repaired even though they initially asked for and additional $300 out of pocket. Shoulda billed that into the other 5k worth of work they didn't do. As a over 20 year customer of AllState, due to their relationship with Gerber, I will never use this company again. I still have loud wind noise that we didn't have before, but I would rather deal with that than deal with Gerber Collision and Glass again. I don't normally Yelp, but you guys at Gerber deserve this one. read more

I was the proverbial lady in distress last week when Todd (I believe that's his name) at Gerber Collision and Glass in Palm Desert came to the rescue. I left my car at a car wash for cleaning and when I returned for it my rear view mirror was just dangling there. None of the guys at the car wash could install it back into its base on the windshield. So I took the car, with the mirror bouncing off the windshield to the nearest auto shop to see if they could easily and quickly put it back in place as I had a two hour drive back home ahead of me. They couldn't stop what they were doing to help me, but they did give me a tool I needed to unscrew the metal part off the mirror base, which then hooks into the base on the windshield. I was told that's what I needed to do first. I unscrewed the metal backing, but there was no way to keep it from falling out of the windshield base (it's suppose to click in). I didn't know if there was a part missing or what since I'm not familiar with how rearview mirrors stick to the windshield. One Mechanic did eventually come out to try to help, but he only made the problem worse by bending the metal piece. After about an hour of fruitless results, he did help by recommending I go to Gerber Collision and Glass down the street. When I got there, the people behind the counter were immediately sympathetic just from the expression of frustration on my face. Todd came out to my car and assessed there was a problem with the metal part of the windshield base being bent. I could only imagine the guy at the car wash doing chin-ups on my rear view mirror! Todd McGivered it back into place recommending I get a new base on the windshield sooner than later (already ordered!), and without charging me for his time and know-how sent me on my way for the long ride ahead WITHOUT the rear view mirror annoyingly and constantly swinging into the windshield. You don't realize just how much you rely on your mirror while driving until you don't have it. So thank you Gerber Collision and Glass and Todd for saving my ass that day and allowing me to have a pleasant and safe drive home. It's a long review for a relatively quick experience but it's too easy to leave bad reviews so a good experience with a business (in my case, their willingness to help someone in immediate need...for no payment to boot) merits the "customer" taking the time to have it be recognized. read more

I brought my vehicle here after having another State Farm authorized shop(see other review) do a horrible job of painting/repairing dent. There were scratches/massive swirl marks in the paint, and the factory texture was not matched, leaving my car looking like two different vehicles. Gerber was FANTASTIC from start to finish.
