Safelite was able to get me in within 24 hours, I went to the site and waited until the windshield replacement was finished. Every employee was very kind and welcoming, and checked on everyone in the waiting area individually throughout the wait. They have massage chairs, water, and coffee in the waiting room. Waste of time. Call center for appointments is bad, they recorded information inaccurately. Safelite is so bad they ask you to discern if it's a repair or a replacement. Then the criteria they ask you utilize isn't accurate in making that distinction. No call no show on the house call appointment, had to follow up myself to reschedule, they did not give preferential treatment to those who have already had missed appointments. So I set up an appointment to go in and they said upon arriving that they do not have my windshield in stock. Scumbags. read more

I've been waiting for nearly a month for my windshield replacement. I had a technician come out to my house 3 different times and due to weather it couldn't get done which is understandable. I had rescheduled the appointment for this morning 3/25/23 at 1000hrs to bring it into the local shop. I came in early, as I'm very punctual and a Veteran USN, I wait for about 25 minutes as one vehicle was completed, and a gentleman was issued to bring in my 2016 RAM, he about had a temper tantrum I think his name was Dylan, all he did was complain about not wanting to my Truck. Then he took the packet out to the shop, and about 25 minutes later a young lady comes out her name is Nikki. She asks who owns the RAM? I stated "I do." she proceeded to tell me that the part wasn't in and I would have to reschedule for another day. I tried to keep my composure as she was telling me that my part was shipped back to Buffalo? Once I got home I called the store and proceeded to inquire about how I don't believe that my part was shipped back to Buffalo, in order for me to have been scheduled to come into the shop today. I work in sales and that doesn't make any sense to me. Why would you reschedule a customer to come into the shop 2 days later and not have the required part to do the job? I honestly believe that my part is there at the shop, at 1260 Scottsville Rd Rochester NY, and that this young lady sides with Dylan in his not wanting to work on my Truck. I've never ever been treated so poorly as these clowns at this store show disrespect by working for your Company, at this location. It's been a few years since we needed a windshield replacement and it was at that location and I was in and out no issues. Now this location is the worst for the child like temper tantrums and a young lady that has no training on how to diffuse an irate customer such as myself. I'm not buying that my part was shipped back to Buffalo in order to be rescheduled for an appointment today. There needs to be some serious restructuring with this store going forward. It's worth noting that Safelight came to our house, so I don't know the actual location of the particular shop - but this one is the closest to us The person who came out was personable and very nice. But, 1) Safelight came to our house three times to replace back window glass and failed each time. The first two times,the electrical connections for defrosting and the like had been broken so they aborted the repair. The third time, they worked perhaps 2 hours to make the repair, until they discovered that the hole in the glass for the wipers had been cut an inch off. One might say this is a problem with their supplier. Probably it's a systemic problem related to using the most cut-rate replacements they can find. 2) Safelight does not carry 'plastic' in each repair truck so that they can close off the vehicle, allowing it to be driven if they need to abort their repair.The first time they came out and failed, they had to drive back to the shop for the plastic and return to us (it took over a half an hour) 3) Safelight did not have a working vacuum in their repair truck. This meant that tiny shards of glass were all over the driveway and in the garage. We had to use a shop-vac to get it all up. Yes, they did have a trash can to put the stuff in, but a lot escaped the trash can 4) I suspect the time to schedule repairs was more than needed. After Safelight failed the third time, we scheduled a repair with Ray Sands Glass **for the next day**. We contacted Safelight on a Monday and they could not get to us until Friday (they returned on Saturday and on Monday to try to complete the repair. At Ray Sands glass the repair took perhaps an hour and ten minutes. 5) If you want to talk to someone at Safelight, the call will go to a virtual assisstant. At Ray Sands glass, you talk to people 6) Safelight inundates a person with emails -- thank goodness I didn't give them a mobile phone number. (With Ray Sands, you call, you make the appointment, you drive over.) 7) Safelight recommmended we the replace the wipers (at extra charge). But this did not include the broken motor and assembly. The wiper motor and assembly were broken. Safelight did not bring a new wiper motor and assembly the first time they came. They explained to me I could order it and install it myself or have someone install it. I asked if they could get the wiper motor and assembly before they came the second and third time, but they were unable to do so. Ray Sands Glass was able to get the assembly and motor for the wipers. (I may have the terminology about wiper and blade mixed up - all Safelight wants to do is charge you extra to put a new wiper on some kind of existing assembly. Insurance covered a whole new installation at Ray Sands glass) Do not listen to insurance companies that pressure you to use Safelight. The insurance company told us that we were free to use any shop but that we'd have to pay in advance and be reimbursed. This was false. There are many shops, such as Ray Sands Glass, that can get paid by the insurance company directly. The person who came out to repair was very nice. It's unfortunate, that three times he came with Glass that was defective. It's unfortunate that his vacuum was not working and that Safelight does not provide each van with plastic to make a vehicle driveable in the case of a failed repair. It's unfortunate that Safelight does not offer services such as replacing broken motor and wiper blades I only write this to help people think through glass shops they want to use. I'm giving Safelite zero stars. It makes you give one but I don't even give them one. Made an appointment wed from 12-5. At 4:30 I get a call saying they weren't coming. Set another appointment for Fri from 12-5. Get a phone call on Thurs saying it's going to rain on Fri so can I bring it into the shop. No I can't I'm working. That why I requested the windshield be replaced on a day it wasn't going to rain. The guy tells me he would try to get someone there that day. He would call me at 12. No call. At 2:30 I get a message saying my appointment is on Fri and I'm to supply a covered area for them to do the work. I already told the guy there was no place with coverage. I cancelled my appointment. I will be using another company who is reliable. Will never use Safelite ever again. Extremely unprofessional and waste people's time. read more

My windshield needed to be replaced and I called Safelight to replace it at my house. They came out 4 different times and each time brought a new windshield with streaks that were unable to be rubbed out. They also never had the new moldings my windshield required. I finally brought it to the dealership where it was done correctly. I will never use safelight again! read more

This place is horrible had a crack very small and couple minutes tech came to me and said the crack got bigger when i work on it so now you have to pay 500 to get it fix. I was upset because i should not have to pay for a mistake you cause. Then he says come back tommorw long story short he did not do anything but more damage and i will never go to any safelite again. My new windshield was installed. When I tried to drive my vehicle for the first time, my windshield wipers did not work at all!! Thankfully I have a smart husband who saw the were no longer hooked up after Safelite replaced my windshield. They also never put back the molding around it correctly. My husband put it all back together. What a crappy job Safelite did. Get with it people, you should have tested my wipers before you left. read more

I had this company come out to replace my cracked windshield and the technician was there for a short time and locked my only key in my vehicle, then decided to just tell me he was leaving because he didn't know what to do about it. I called the rochester ny manager, Jeremy black, and he didn't offer to help at all and actually suggested I hire a locksmith to come open my vehicle amd pay for it out of my own pocket and I would be reimbursed for this. I sent them the invoice and they " submitted it" I called every week to get an update and they said it could take up to 4 weeks for approval. He we are 5 weeks later and they lost my invoice and decided not to reach out to me but to just let it go. I called and talked to Jeremy black about it and he told me that he is doing what he was told to do, which is nothing at all. I am out of pocket 272.16 at this point and they refuse to reimburse me. I hope this get back to asomeone higher up than this fool I have had to deal with and I hope he gets fired. This is the stupidest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life. I had two cars that needed to have the windshield replaced. They were not able to fix the cracks on either one and after they tried to fix the cracks you couldn't see that they had done anything. I then had to have my one windshield replaced and they messed up my appointment two times and they were rude and their customer service skills are not very good read more

Safelite came to my house two times and both times had the wrong glass. It took them almost 4 weeks to figure out the right glass for my vehicle. They also scheduled a visit for me to bring my car to their shop and never notified me so we missed the appointment which added more delay. Once the glass was replaced they did a sloppy job with the glue and scratched my interior of the car. I will go to the dealer next time as this was a less then desirable experience. read more

My installer (Jeff) was both confused and not trustworthy in my opinion. First he called and left a message that he would arrive between 2 and 3. At 10:30 he called and said he was on his way, denying he had called earlier until presented with his voicemail. Next he said Safelight would not offer a warranty due to rust. There was NO rust on the car and he finally dropped that denial only to say that he "suspected" delamination under the windshield so there would be no warranty. He could not explain how he arrived at that conclusion except to say "I need to cover my ass." I sent him on his way and had the work performed at another non-Safelight shop. read more

It is a tale of two cities. I am disappointed to have to give such a bad review, but "Big Picture" logic demands it. Here's the thing: Safelite replaced my windshield and they did a great job (knock on wood!). This was back in July '13. They talked me into a new set of windshield wipers, I figured, "Why not?" One week later I turned on the wipers ('08 Nissan Versa) and the larger of the 2 wipers just went crazy and bent near the top. I had and have never heard of this happening before. It was crazy because the wiper sort of cleaned an inch or two's path across my windshield so that I could sort of see, but the wiper was all floppy and noodley. I called Safelite and said, "I don't know how to explain this, because I've never even thought about windshield wipers malfunctioning before, but the wipers you just put on my car broke after being used once." Safelite acted like they had never heard of it before either (I no longer believe this of them). Anyway, once again they were great with their customer service and scheduled a new free set of wipers to be put on. Cool beans, I wrote it off as an anomaly. 4 months later, the wipers had been doing their jobs, and yesterday I turned them on and flop flop flop again! I don't understand? The larger of the two literally bends in a 85 degree manner and makes the rubber part turn into a wet noodle. I will not be calling Safelite. Safelite has excellent customer service - I applaud them for this. At the end of the day, Safelite replaced my windshield but talked me into purchasing two sets of dangerous wipers. I thought I would live my life without thinking about the integrity of windshield wipers but Safelite has now given me a phobia about using my wipers. Worst wipers on the planet! read more

The folks at the Safelite on Scottsville Road in Rochester, NY are terrific. My windshield was replaced and the forward facing camera was recalibrated. The camera didn't seem to work right at first, but after a couple of days it got better. I took it back to Safelite, and the technician drove the car and told me the lane departure warning system doesn't work below 35 mph and it worked find going faster than 35 mpg. He asked if I wanted it recalibrated again. I said yes, and without hesitation it was done again. I'm not sure it really needed it.I checked the owner's manual and, sure enough, the technician was right. Such great customer service. read more

So went to go and get the window replaced that they didn't order the right one the first time. was told that today they would put in the second window that they ordered after a week and a half. And the stressful situation at this particular establishment last week take the car in to get the window done and that window is not the right window. So I'm thinking that you need to replace this person that says he is the owner with someone that would actually know what they're doing maybe? No discount was offered so now I still have to pay for the rap until I do get a window that will fit. The appointment was scheduled online which was convenient and I appreciated the fact the system confirms date/time and also sends an email prior to appt. date/time that everything is on schedule. Anthony was fantastic and did a thorough job. My only complaint is that I had a dark blue reflector strip on top of my original front window-shield and the replacement is not the exact same. Fast windshield replacement but poor customer service communication. (My experience is probably not typical though) Please note- if you have atypical windshield blades do not opt for replacement because they will not carry it! This is where most of my problem started! I drive a current model Honda Civic- when I setup the appt for windshield replacement they apparently were not aware of what blades this car has (which I later found out really don't need replacing as often as typical blades..and are $$$$$). The replacement blades were not the same, which blows my mind because this Honda model has been around at least 6 years now. I didn't notice the blades until the day after (on a Sat.). Wrote a message online to customer service. By 10 am MOnday no calls so I decide to call the toll-free#- the rep was ice-cold- probably because I was upset when calling. (I should add that I got worried the tech stole my original wiper arms and gave me something cheap- they only replace blades tho.) The local manager called me not long after and was friendly and worked with me to solve the problem. Apparently, there are a small # of cars w/ special blades and I won the lottery on that one! I had to go to a Honda dealership and have the manager talk to the parts dept. Safelite ate the cost of ordering new ones for me. After 2 weeks of waiting - no calls about the blades. I call the manager again and he first says he "thought" he called me. Then says there was no name on the delivery so they were not sure who it went to. I accomodated the appt on my day off so they did not have to drive 30 mins to my work and it was between 8am-12p time frame. He was very courteous like our first call. At 9am the tech calls to say he will be there 12-12:30. After hanging up I decided this just would not work for me- especially since it is my 2nd appt and I accomodated them to a closer location AND this is my day off. I got the manager and he says the tech will be calling me back. An hour goes by- I call the tech and get voice mail but with someone else's name on it- so I call the manager again and he says "he didn't call you?" A few mins later the tech calls again to say he is on his way in a few mins. They were all very friendly and courteous so it's difficult to give low points. The tech was very understanding of the situation and did a great job (I also asked him to re-center the remote starter above the rearview mirror because the last tech placed it off-center.) Again- this was probably a mostly isolated problem and most people would not have this issue. I recommend the service but you should look into the blade replacement offer if you are worried- if you are someone who buys blades on the cheap at Walmart or the like- you likely won't have any issues. read more

I cannot believe how great these folks are, communication was insane! timely call backs, email communication all the way through the process and emailed receipt. work was done on my repair right at work and took like 1/2 an hour. they took care of all the insurance BS too. UPDATE, repair looks almost worse than the crack! I called and let them know what the problem was and like magic, they are coming out tomorrow to give me a new windshield! How fantastic, no fighting, no, can I speak with your manager. She said we want you to be 100% satisfied and you are covered with no deductible. So simple! May 28, 2018 To whom it may concern: I would like to take a moment to share my experience with your company. I have never used safelite auto glass repair but decided it would be most convenient to have your company come to my residence and have my windshield repaired. I initially made my appointment for Saturday May 19th for the morning appointment. I had to reschedule that appointment to Saturday May 26th for the morning appointment. I am self employed and had scheduled that time to be free and available for the repair and had prepared to be at my residence for the time it would take for this repair. I received all of the confirmation emails that my appointment was all set and Daniel would be my technician. I even received an email on Friday May 25th to confirm the pending appointment the following am. On Saturday May 26th, about 9:00 am I received a phone call from Daniel, letting me know my windshield had not yet been received and that we would have to reschedule. I had to ask for clarification, as my initial appointment had been made over 2 weeks ago, and the rescheduled appointment well over 10 days in advance of this appointment. I also informed Daniel that my family has been in the automotive industry my entire life and I am well aware of how parts are ordered and received, I was well aware that there was no chance on a holiday weekend that my windshield would be delivered on that Saturday, which meant; Daniel and Safelite while sending me confirmation emails were well aware that my part had not been received and my appointment would have to be rescheduled on that Friday May 25th well over 12 hours before my scheduled appointment. I am disappointed in how this has been handled by safelite, I informed Daniel that I would find another company, but that I would also be making sure that my experience would be sent to every review page available. In today's day and age time is money, especially for a self-employed person such as myself. The inability of your company to manage to order and have available a windshield well in advance ( 15 days or more) while still communicating and confirming an appointment is unacceptable. I will not recommend your company to anyone. I will let everyone know how easily my time was dismissed as insignificant/unimportant. In closing, I hope you will review this letter with your staff, work to find better systems, possibly a suggestion to use up to date emails instead of template, automated ones, as well as take the time to be considerate of other people's time and money. I have had 2 cars in the past 2 years one for 10 years and had to trade it in but before I did the windshield cracked and they fixed it where I work at, I didn't have to go to them and they did a fantastic job such a fantastic job that when I bought a new car and the windshield cracked on that I called them and they handled the crapping insurance company that I have. We had a air leak problem with one of them, and they came back out and fixed the problem by replacing the windshield again and it was smooth sailing from there, I would use this company for future repairs without a doubt. This has been the worst business experience ive ever had. I never write reviews, but i had to with just how awful everything has gone. i noticed a crack on 11/8 on my brand new 2019 altima windshield and called my insurance(geico) who recommended the jefferson rd safelite shop. Appointment is setup for following monday 11/11. An hour into the appointment and i get a call from tech saying the replacement glass they had ordered had a defect and it caused the glass to stress crack and they were going to have to reschedule for thursday. mildly annoying but i understand mistakes happen. I come out to henrietta again on thursday to be told a half hour into the appointment that the original guy who was replacing my windshield failed to mention there was missing brackets and screws(obviously his fault since the car is brand new with 1000 miles on it) and there wasnt anything they could do so i had to be rescheduled for saturday. well saturday rolls around and they replace the glass with no cracks or visual errors i can see. as soon as i accelerate onto the highway i hear a wooshing noise coming from right side of glass. I was steaming at this point. the manager at this jefferson rd shop said they wanted to make it right and offered me new wiper blades LOL. Every single person at this shop needs to be terminated, nobody is capable of doing their job.AVOID JEFFERSON RD SHOP AT ALL COSTS!! read more
