I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Safelite…read more My windshield replacement for a Jaguar XF began in February 2026. I was initially told that the windshield would take approximately two months to arrive. Instead, I spent nearly five months repeatedly contacting the office myself because no one provided updates. During that time, I was given multiple explanations, including that the windshield had not arrived, the wrong windshield was received, the windshield was lost, and that it had been transferred to another location. Despite all of these explanations, there was no resolution. On June 13, 2026, I received an automated call confirming my appointment, leading me to believe that the replacement would finally be completed. When I arrived, however, I was met by a front desk employee whose demeanor was unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than assisting me with a service I had been waiting months to receive, the situation escalated, my appointment was canceled, and law enforcement was called. When the responding deputy asked whether the work could be completed at my home, the employee stated that it could not be done. This was surprising given Safelite's well-known mobile service options. The deputy provided his contact information and indicated that he could serve as a witness if I chose to pursue the matter further. Six days later, after receiving no communication from management, I contacted the store manager, Hillary, myself. Unfortunately, that conversation was no more productive than my previous interactions. What concerns me most is not just the delay, but the apparent lack of customer service, communication, and accountability. In my experience, employee behavior often reflects the standards set by management, and this location fell far short of reasonable expectations. The only reason I remained with Safelite for so long was because it was the vendor initially assigned through my USAA auto insurance policy. Fortunately, USAA has now allowed me to choose a different vendor, and I will be doing so. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Midway, FL location.

After receiving a quote of 5-7 days of shipping time for the "OEM" or Dealership glass to arrive, they informed me that the dealership has delayed the glass arrival by an additional 5-7 days! Yay! My glass has been broken for over a month and now, my glass has been extremely cracked for almost 2 weeks. This morning was likely the worst call of all. Safelite called me and informed me that they dropped my windshield after it had arrived at the facility and that it would be an additional 5-7 days before they could repair again. The man on the phone seemed sympathetic but I highly doubt that since they handled the only windshield that works for my car with such recklessness and disarray. This is officially the worst car experience ever! I wish I would've went literally anywhere else. I am in disbelief with the complete lack of care, compassion or empathy.

I called my insurance company back and asked for a listed of approved shops in my area. I called Lisa's first based on their reputation. They got me in for the estimate 2 days later and began the work the following Monday. My car was back to looking like nothing ever happened in less than 3 weeks and I am beyond pleased with the results! The two ladies I dealt with in the office were polite and professional all the way through the process and my vehicle honestly looks showroom new! Thank you for a job well done!

Ok so where do I begin. Brought my car in 10/2024 to address a defective pearl paint job by…read moreHyundai. Spoke with Lisa that day regarding an estimate and each area of the car I wanted addressed. I specifically asked her to repaint the rear passenger door and the ENTIRE top rail panel. I had applied primer to the door and approximately 6-8" on the top rail to prevent rust until I could get a professional to do the job correctly. Was quoted around $2700. Car was done in 3/4 days and looked good except some "overspray that looked like bubbling" that they needed to take a clay bar to to remove. Great job I thought. It's now 7/2026 and there is bubbling happening on the top rail and toward the rear. One of the bubbles popped exposing the primer. Made an appointment for Lisa to see it. After taking a look at it it was explained to me that they did NOT address the entire top rail as initially discussed and they only "spot" painted the area that I had primed then painted over the existing paint surrounding that area. The door looks great but I assume they stripped that down and redid the entire thing. So I paid $2700 for one door and one spot on the top rail (and some window molding and clips). She then gave me a quote of $1598.74 to paint the entire top rail hahaha. She then said but I'll do it for $1000! So tell me....why would you do that for me? A $500 discount...why? And why would I ever go back to have this done the right way when it was supposed to be done the right way the first time. I'm not speaking for everyone here, everyone's experience is different it seems with this shop but my experience wasn't the one I initially thought it was which was good. All I wanted was to give them the chance to do the right thing and that didn't happen for me. Folks before you agree to anything here make sure you're specifically addressing your needs and that they know and have it in writing that you can understand. For $2700 this should have been corrected and being told be Lisa "well this pearl paint will give you more issues down the road" isn't what anyone should hear. I paid money for that NOT to happen again instead I'm back to basically the same paint job Hyundai gave me. I can't wait for this shops response to this review "we guarantee are work, sorry you had a bad experience hopefully you were able to get it fixed elsewhere, something along those lines. I have pictures of the proof before and after. I have another body shop that confirmed this wasn't the correct process. Paint over existing bad Hyundai paint job. This is why I specifically asked them to repaint the entire top rail. Im sure they do fantastic work, everyone refers them but geez $2700 later and they want another $1500 to do it again the right way. Just cross your T's and dot your I's with this shop before signing anything. Make it perfectly clear they understand what job should be done. 2 stars because the door still looks great. Better Business Bureau next.

Over the next few days, I also got quotes from Maaco, Advantage Auto Body, Competitive Auto Body, and Gerber. The prices ranged from $4,900 to $3,400. Capital City Collision gave me the lowest quote ($3,400) while also treating me with the most respect and understanding. I dropped off my car on Monday of that week. By Tuesday/Wednesday, they had already disassembled what was needed. They were upfront that there was some visible internal damage and that they wouldn't know the full picture until everything was apart. Unlike other shops that wanted to replace everything, they explained where repairs were possible (like reshaping my radiator rather than automatically replacing it). This saved me significant money. They were also flexible in ways other shops weren't: their aftermarket parts prices matched what I found myself, and they had no problem with me sourcing parts if needed. Several shops refused this outright or insisted on OEM only. Their labor was $55/hour and very fairly priced. I called them a week later for an update, they were still waiting on parts. The following week, they let me know the part they first ordered was broken, so they ordered a new one but they expected the car to be ready the next day. The only hiccup was with one headlight: the part was originally quoted at $600, but since it wasn't available at that price, they adjusted the labor so the difference was only $200 instead of the full increase. That kind of effort to keep the price as close to the original quote as possible is rare in this industry. On September 26th, they called me to say the car was basically ready but had two issues: (1) the PCS light was on (a sensor that helps with braking safety) and (2) the battery had died while they were test driving. Here's where I really appreciated their transparency, they could have easily claimed I needed a new PCS sensor (a very expensive part) or a new battery. Instead, they explained exactly what they were seeing, test-drove the car four times, and told me it might just be a calibration or placement issue. Within an hour, they found the sensor was simply out of place, and the battery worked fine after a jump. They even suggested I go to AutoZone (where I originally bought the battery) to test it, and AutoZone confirmed the battery was perfectly healthy. They could have charged me thousands more, but they didn't. That honesty means everything. The finished work looks fantastic. The hood was completely destroyed in the accident, and part of the side body wasn't great, but I chose not to replace that panel to save money. Because of that, the hood alignment is a little wider on one side, but they respected my choice and explained the tradeoff. It's not noticeable unless you're looking for it. The car looks great, drives great, and was finished efficiently. For comparison: at Advantage Auto Body, they insisted on sawing off my hood just to give me a quote, then left the saw inside my car until Maaco found it and removed it. Other shops were hundreds to over a thousand dollars more expensive without offering more transparency. As a young woman handling this process on my own, it was discouraging at times to see the price differences, but Capital City Collision never made me feel taken advantage of. Overall, they were professional, fair, and incredibly honest. I wish I could tip them on top of what I paid. I'll attach before/after photos to show the difference, but I can say with confidence: this is the shop I would recommend to anyone. Lessons learned: If you're in this situation, I recommend going to multiple shops for quotes and seeing where they overlap on what really needs to be replaced. After that, check aftermarket prices for those parts so you know whether the quote is fair. It takes extra time, but it gives you a solid baseline, and for me, Capital City Collision matched those fair prices while giving me honest, quality work. Pictures with information blacked out
