My BMW 528 began having a "Drivetrain Malfunction Alert", so I took it to German Auto Repair to do a computer diagnostic. They informed me that to diagnose the issue, it would take an hour of testing and cost $156. Although my past experience was a simple computer diagostic, I trusted their experience. After spending half the day in their shop waiting, their test showed that I need to replace a back door handle and the battery and that an additional two hours of testing for the Drivetain Malfuncation would be needed (additional $312 just for testing, not fixing). The Battery Replacement ($483.87) and Door Handle ($460). Because of the additional testing issue, I took the BMW to another shop where they immediately did the computer diagnostic (free of charge) where I watched in seconds all the various issues displayed including the Drivetrain Malfuncation, Door Handle and other minor issues. The Drivetain was fixed for $240. The battery for $220. The Door Handle for $390. German Auto Repair seemed to be good and knowledgeable guys, but they are not trustworthy. Stay away!! read more

Amazing ! our experience was first Rate ! Brought our old BMW convertible in for Diagnostic Help after many run arounds and wasted money and time at another shop in the Area.The Empathy and Care and confidence I Received after our Diagnosis was Excellent at German Auto Repair. from the initial Panicked phone call I made , Till the end of repairs , I was treated very well and immediately felt well taken care of. these Guys know High Mileage BMW autos . And have an amazing quick turn around time as well. I know BMW Autos very well have owned and maintained 5 high mileage ones over the years , and I am picky and Detail oriented and found these guys to be cut from the same cloth. Excellent work , Of course they Found more issues with vehicle than I initially thought , But they were right and gave great consult on how to proceed. Big issue for me as A Dad and paying for Sons College right now, and with this economy a big Repair Bill for an old car can really change your Good attitude. I will say this , My repair invoice was more than thought it would be Due to multiple legit issues the other shop didnt see. and After i got in that car and after The amazing , thoughtful and most Educating Talk with The Owner and the techs I can say MONEY WELL SPENT. the concern they showed for me and my Family's Safety and well- Being and our Car was above and Beyond. These Guys Showed Honor and Respect , Things that vare sadly missing alot these Days at Repair Shops we have frequented in the past. My E70 X5 50i was in this shop from August of 2018 through August of 2019 awaiting a new motor which was shipped from Germany. When the motor arrived it took the tech three weeks to assemble it, which is indicative of not knowing how to swap out the usable parts to the new motor, but I let it slide considering the duration it had already been in the shop, and waited patiently. The job was "completed" and cold start driven by the tech middle part of September at which point I was told that the vehicle would be okay to pick up. Being that I now lived in another state, I had a friend of mine pick up the vehicle to bring to a locale where it would then be shipped. A week later the vehicle arrived and at first start up there was an overwhelming smell of fuel inside the cabin and around the engine bay after shut off. I took it to the dealership, as certain items are still covered on warranty, where they told me one of the high pressure fuel rails had failed. At which point it was then taken via flatbed to a(n) BMW Only shop, where the name is specific to their duties - they only work on BMW, period. The results were alarming (now keep in mind this 'new' motor only has 16 miles on it, and German Auto Repair told me the tech cold started and tested it for 13 miles prior to the vehicle being shipped). Alternator bolts weren't even hand tightened, multiple bolts in their incorrect position that needed to be changed to their correct position and size. The best part of it is, that fuel rail that dealership said 'failed', wasn't even bolted down to torque spec, thus allowing the fuel to leak down the side of the block. Bottom line, this shop's 'technicians' are a high school shop class joke, the owner told me to ship the car back to him so he could take a look at it. I asked owner if he wanted to step up and make things right to any capacity, to which I was responded with a 'palms to the sky' response, "The vehicle is not here". I told the owner thanks for your time and to be well, but I'm not letting someone else get hosed by these opportunistic morons. If I hadn't moved out of state during the duration the vehicle was in the shop (and subsequently purchased ANOTHER car), this scenario would never have gone this way, which is even more pathetic in their disposition. This is my third BMW, I'm extremely familiar with their engineering, codes, engine specs, what to look for - point being, I could have flown to ATL to do the job in their bay myself and the job would have been done better. If whomever handles the customer feedback for the company wants to respond back in any way stating that this isn't accurate or that something else happened in the 3 whole miles I put on the car myself after it arrived, please do, but be well for warned that I have multiple photos of the damage / incomplete job that it took you a year to facilitate. My suggestion to you is to get better, wake up and if you don't know what you're doing - say something. Not everybody in that building should be embarrassed, but the owner and the 'tech' who did the job should be ashamed of themselves. Do not take any german car to this shop, especially a BMW if you are an enthusiast, let alone want your car to continue to run. The best part about this story is that the car didn't catch fire. Think about that. And just so we're crystal clear, this is I think my third post on this platform since becoming a member 10 years ago. The previous two were raving reviews, and the point to that add-in is that I don't go on the internet and post things often, if ever. Do Not Take Your Automobile Here. I called ahead and scheduled an oil change for 8:00 a.m. in the morning. When I talk to the representative he told me that I would be able to be in-and-out in 2 hours. So came and dropped it off with Robert.I had to take an Uber back home. After 3 hours of waiting I called and asked on the status of my vehicle. Robert told me that my vehicle was going to take 3 more hours until they could even look at it. This was very sad news because I had to be to work in that timeframe. This caused me to waste money on 2 ubers having to go back and get my vehicle to go to work because they could not keep their promise. 6 hours for an oil change is a bit excessive. With the high prices they charge you should be able to be in-and-out in under an hour. Robert DID NOT offer me any type of discount. They are not even open on weekends so I have to go elsewhere to get an oil change and waste more time. This is NOT good business. Don't give this place your business they will waste your time and overcharge you and not even offer you a discount for not being able to keep their promises. When I called and ask for the owner's information he denied me the owners information. They DO NOT respect their customers time. Again I wasted over $40 on Uber rides Just for them to tell me they won't be able to complete it and time. 6 hours for an oil change and no apology or discount. read more

Catastrophic engine failure while in their possession. Ducking and dodging me for months. Hid the car literally from pickup had to do a ride out to repossess my modern classic Mercedes Benz. Will not do anything responsible about this matter including ignoring emails and phone calls. Had to tow the vehicle off the property after they finished with it. read more

DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!!!!! I'm writing this from the parking lot right now. These guys have no clue what they are doing whatsoever. I came in for a P0170 code and some cylinders misfires on my Mercedes my check engine light would not stop coming on after a reset. The fat technician in the garage was the one that worked on my car he told me that the breather hose were the reason for the P0170 code I told him to go ahead and fix it so after he up charged me the work not even a day later my check engine light comes right back on. I drive back immediately and he tells me it is now my intake manifold I ask him how he missed that yesterday and he give me the run around about him not wanting to turn the smoke pressure up to high. They try to charge me another thousand plus dollars to repair the new found problem he is not even certain would fix the code. I told him I would not be dumping thousands of dollars into their cash trap and he smiled smugly and gave me my car back. Long story short these guys are scam artist they don't truly know German cars just old mechanics taking guesses and trying to take more and more money until you just stop coming back. read more

Couldn't be happier with my decision to use German Auto for all of my BMW services and repairs. After going to the dealer for a couple of years I am happy to finally be at a place I trust and a place that is a little lighter on the wallet. After getting all four brakes changed for what it cost me to change two at the dealer there is no doubt German Auto is my new shop. I have also had a couple of minor repairs done here and I have never left feeling like I got screwed. I am beyond impressed with the quality of service I have received at both German Auto Repair as well as at their second shop next door GAR motor sports. Their personal service at drop off, diagnosis, and final consult makes a person feel at total ease. When I pay at the end I have no question in my mind that it is exactly the fair price I should be paying. One time while picking up my truck another customer said, "I trust you guys. In fact your the only men in my life I trust right now and that is saying something". Yeah she's got issues for sure but still the statement resonated with me and I haven't seen that proven wrong. I am a fan is the perfect review. I need a reputable shop to bring my German cars to that can handle jobs that are a little more advanced than my skill set. There are a few to choose from in the area, but I need someone with BMW AND AUDI experience. I gave them a shot. They were welcoming and asked a few questions to get a feel for what I needed. I only needed an oil change. It took most of the day which was ok since I wasn't waiting. Hopefully I never have a major problem with these cars, but I would give this shop a try if I do. My oil change was about market price ~$80 which is why I'm going to do these myself from now on, but I like that they are affiliated with CarFax and they called me to let me know what was going on. read more

I've gone to Jerry for the last few years and trust him. Early on I got a quote from a dealership that my rear breaks needed replacing. I felt like they were upselling me, so I took it to Jerry and he told me I could get another 10k miles before replacing. When they finally went out he was $210 cheaper than the dealership and there were no doubts it was done right. Another story happened to me recently with an oil leak. I let the dealer change my oil, I developed a leak, and took it back to them - to have them "fix" the problem for $1,000. When my car continued to leak they wanted me to bring it again and replace the oil pan. My estimate was $3,600, and they offered to discount it 20/25%. I didn't trust them and took it to Jerry. His team looked at it, found it wasn't sealed propertly, test drove it....AND DIDN"T CHARGE ME ANYTHING! He's got a customer for life, and I've already referred two other people to him. read more
