Did you hear the one about the guy that paid several hundred dollars at an auto repair shop and drove away with a smile on his face? Well it's no joke! It's true. That's what happened to me when I recently picked up my Honda Civic from Cabena's Japanese Auto Care in Acworth, GA. Happy about spending money you say? Yes and in the last few years I've been on a search for an auto repair shop that would not leave me feeling unsettled after I paid my money and drove away. There was always something that just wasn't right. From the parts that were used to the long list of things they said I "had" to get done for my car to work. I was frustrated. I know parts aren't cheap and a labor charge is worthy of a good technician so if you have to spend your money why not be satisfied when you do. I've tried the "cheap" route and never realized just how expensive "cheap" could be. Cabena's has fair and honest pricing and the job gets done right! As you can tell, I could write a book but after finding Cabena's, gone are the days when I drive away from a shop feeling nickel and dimed. Chuck's team actually drove 100 miles round trip to get me Honda parts that became available. The job was done while I waited and yes Chuck really called me a week or two later to ask how the car was handling and if everything was working well. Although I believe Mr Cabena may have meant well he misdiagnosed what was troubling my car because I don't think he is as experienced as he thinks he is. I have a good bit of knowledge when it comes to cars but I'm in sales so I don't have the time to work on my own car as much as I may like. Something sales has taught me is I can spot someone who seems dishonest and a few comments rubbed me the wrong way so I took my car elsewhere to avoid paying the $2500 I was quoted to have it fixed at Cabena's and managed to get my other mechanic to repair all the troubles I had for under $1k. Wish I had not wasted my time trying Cabena's only because they were a bit closer to my house. I can see why Mr Cabena may be successful to a point because he did seem knowledgeable and if I did not have the background I have I very well may have believed him however I don't base my success on being dishonest, I pride myself on doing the right thing and wish I didn't feel as if I had to write this review but thought it was only fair given the circumstances. read more

I've recently began using Cabena's for maintenance and repair of our Subaru and Honda's. Nothing but great experiences to date. Most recently had an extensive, much needed brake repair to my daughters used Honda. This is her primary means of transportation to class and work at UGA in Athens. She had noticed a weird sound with normal braking after the repairs were done. In a spontaneous return home this weekend I swung by Cabena's to ask if they could take a quick peak. ( If necessary we would leave it a few days and figure out and play musical cars. ) Chuck was away from the shop but contacted me at 6 PM Friday and asked I swing it by, his concern was to prevent any safety issue. He did a quick assessment and was able to narrow it down to a very minor issue common with new brakes. Fixed it on the spot. Like making other choices for service providers, choosing an auto repair service is never easy. I was a customer of another shop in Acworth for many years. When it was time to make a change, I did some research and found Cabena's Japanese Auto Care. I have been a customer (3 older vehicles) for about a year and I am extremely pleased with the repair service I have received. Chuck, Nick, Susan and Corey are all very professional and I trust them to give me the right advice to take care of my cars. Money is tight and I appreciate it when Chuck advises me that I do not need a certain repair for now. While he does focus on vehicle safety, I have never felt he has tried to take advantage of me and my specific lack of vehicle knowledge by suggesting unnecessary repairs. I can't say that about all service shops. I will continue to rely on Cabena's Auto Service for all of my vehicle repairs. Thank you Chuck and staff!. My family owns three Honda Civics and a Honda Odyssey Van, the oldest being a year 2000 model. Since 2000, we've had service and repairs done by various dealerships and mechanics in the Kennesaw/Acworth area, with various levels of unsatisfaction with price, performance, or both. For the last 2 1/2 years however we've been taking all four cars to Cabenas, and we've been very satisfied with their honesty, high level of service and their prices. Knowing that we have a good, honest mechanic we can go to is one less thing to worry about. Beyond oil changes and the owner's manual recommended services, we've had various other repairs done. The most serious repair involved replacing the engine in our high mileage 2002 Civic, more than a year ago. Wow! I live an hour away from Cabena's, so when my AC died the week we had 90 degree weather in April, I took it to a local shop who wanted to replace my entire compressor for $700 after charging me nearly $200 just to diagnose. I took it to Cabena's before I let them touch my car again. Cabena's took one look at my car,a Toyota, and then looked for any announcements Toyota had put out about their AC systems recently. Turns out, Toyota had to redesign their AC relay and these were what was going bad in the cars like mine, not the compressors. By going the extra mile and actually looking for the problem rather than pushing the most expensive fix onto me, Cabena's had my AC running better than it has ever run for less than $100! Cabena's has been a life saver and a car saver for me! I used to go to the dealer to get oil changes and left stressed not knowing what to do every time. Then I discovered Cabena's. I have only been in three times and feel like I have been going for years. They looked over my car and told me really what needed to be done an explained it to me. There was no hidden agenda and the things that needed to be fixed really needed to be fixed. I left there happy and content. I was called a week later just to make sure everything was running right. Cabena's Japanese Auto is the best Japanese mechanic shop in the Cherokee county area. Take your car here. I'm not sure if they even look at non-Japanese cars, but they'd do a great job. Cabena's is a family-run business and is honest, trustworthy, and fairly priced. For a small operation, they still provide shuttle service and a small waiting room with light snacks, TV, and wi-fi. Discounts, coupons, and promotions are not rare either. These people place customer satisfaction as a top priority! We have owned 2 Hondas for a long time and the customer service is the best at Cabena's. Although we only see Chuck and his team every couple of months, we feel like he remembers our names, our faces, and most importantly, the health/history of our vehicles. read more

I've been getting my vehicles serviced by Cabena's for at least 5 years now after seeing the positive experience my girlfriend was having with them. I have always been treated fairly and honestly about any work needed on my car. I appreciate being told what services need to be performed right away and what things can wait. Cabena's Auto Care was a godsend. Just when my husband and I thought we were going to have to park our Xterra until we could figure out what was wrong with it, some friends referred us to Cabena's. We were so scared to take it anywhere because we didn't know anyone we could trust to tell us the truth about what was going on with our vehicle. Chuck and his staff were amazing! I have had nothing short of an excellent experience every visit to Cabena's. All the work has been top notch. Their prices are very fair and competitive and they tell you what to expect before they start the work so you aren't surprised with a hidden or unknown cost. I don't give 5 stars to anybody, but Cabena's earned it. I took my '05 TL to them based on a recommendation. My TL is my "baby" and has never been wrecked and never wrenched on. In fact, had never been towed until a recent incident. They had to do some major surgery - and it was like they never lifted the hood when I got it back. They MORE than lifted the hood. The hood was completely off when I went by at one point. Very professional - treated my car as if it was their own. No shortcuts, no games. Provided options and openly discussed pros/cons/cost. Service as good as it gets. I recommend everyone I know to these guys. Chuck runs a great shop and does it right. Let them check out that used car before you buy it as well. I've done that twice with my 2003 4Runner and my wife's 2006 Sienna. I knew exactly was i was getting into and any work that needed to be done I got taken off the price at the dealership when negotiating. After too many frustrating experiences with the Nissan dealership I went to Cabenas because my brother-in-law suggested it and he knows cars. Even though it was a good distance from Vinings I went up there. I have not gone to another repair shop since. These guys know their stuff and shoot straight. I have never felt like they were hiding anything, and they give good advice then let you decide how you want to handle the repairs. Just wish they would open closer to town. read more
