Also, when I called in I was able to speak to a mechanic about my vehicle, and he estimated a cost that was reasonable. When I got to my appointment, the staff was courteous and friendly. The mechanic who worked on my vehicle did not bill me additional charges without my approval first, and was able to explain to me in layman's terms what my vehicle needed and why. Amazing place!!!!!!!!! Came to them from a different shop for a second opinion, and boy I'm glad I did. I have a 2001 Audi A6. Had it diagnosed at a different shop for diagnostics. They wanted to do, Catalytic Converters, all new Spark plug coils and spark plug. Did not trust them. When I walked into German Specialist, Eric greeted me with a smile and was very nice, I told him my problem and he understood that I wanted to confirm everything. They did a diagnostics, and found out that I only needed spark plugs. I was so relieved. While everything was being done, The owner came out and talk to me. Amazing guy and loves his cars. What a great experience! I went there for a second diagnosis because the place I went in Everett said my liptons in my 550i BMW(2010) were shot and I had to replace my engine. Adam found nothing but some small oil leaks but was not uncommon for this kind of engine. He recommended some other work that needs to be done in the far future. I came to German Car Specialist because with multiple problems to my 2008 Audi Q7. I had gone to a place locally where I live and they attempted to fix one of my problems twice and failed, fixing a pressure leak in my fuel line. Then when my MMI died I knew I had to find a better place and I was recommended by a friend to German Car Specialist. Tony and his team was able to find the leak - which appear to had been caused the summer prior when I ran over a screw driver on the freeway and it punctured my right wheel well and gave me a flat. Tony was able to fix a filter that was leaking in that corner and the car has been driving great and not throwing the error for that any more. Next was the project challenge the MMI on my car appeared to had died. Well that was only part of it and of course Audi has to make this part super complex and not resilient to spills (wasn't my spill; well maybe). Anyways he parted me out and brand new was pricey so Tony got me used parts. Of course on install it wasn't the right part cause my 2008 car was limited run before Audi changed those components and so of course they are hard to come by. So Tony deep dives and gets on the phone with Audi and sorts this out. Now they order a brand new part and there is only one in the US at NY. That part comes in gets replaced and its like - yeah just kidding I'm not the problem. One would think what do we do now is there hope. Tony and his team starts to break it all down into each component check zone - they get details from Audi as Audi was like that's not right. They figure out which zone are failing their return signals and causing the main MMI to shutdown. Come to find out its the Siri Controller and the Controls Unit (the center console dials). Tony's crew gets those parts in and gets it installed and presto we have my MMI fully functioning again. Much Thanks Tony. You and your crew did excellent work. Recently brought in my wife's 2015 Audi A3 for routine service. The dealerships wanted a TON of money for basically an oil change and inspection. Oh yeah, and to replace the cabin air filter. I had Adam and his team did a whole lot more than what the dealership was going to do, and it cost a whole lot less. We're talking break fluid flush (good to do every two years), halidex (4-wheel drive) flush, along with all the other stuff listed by Audi; including the all important cabin filter. I would never take my car back here and would advise others to stay away. These are the issues I had with them: 1. Tries to sell you for repairs you don't need. Tried to sell us on paying to dye our power steering fluid to look for leaks after already knowing it had a minor leak and after already paying for the same thing for the engine oil. 2. Overcharges. Tried to convince us to replace a turn signal lens cover for $249 when it cost me $30 for the part and 10 minutes of work to replace. 3. Owner Adam took the car home several times to "make sure everything was working." When I asked where, he said Issaquah but later admitted he had taken it to Snoqualmie. The trip odometer also always returns completely zeroed out. 4. Had to return the car several times for the same issue because they didn't do the work right (oil leaks and check engine light). To be clear, the car's check engine light did not come on before taking the car to this shop. 5. Older car had very minor oil leaks for years and after repair at this shop, the car had a major oil leak, dripping large splotches of oil over my driveway. They blamed the leak on a defective valve cover seal that they had replaced. read more

I called ahead of time (Dan) and shopped around. They gave me a reasonable and one of the lower price quotes (not cheapest but trust me, you don't want to go with the very cheapest). 2. I showed up early 7:30 and they were opened. 3. Got a free ride to and from the garage. And no I don't work close (Microsoft). 4. My extended warranty expired and took my Audi A4 to German Car for the first time last week. Customer service was great from the moment I called in to make my appointment. Kevin was good at explaining what my car needed done: regular service, other parts needing replacement, front brakes, and repair a noise my car had for a while. I paid $1600 for EVERYTHING while the dealer (Barrier in Bellevue) quoted me $1500 to repair only that noise!! $1600 is a lot of money but compared to dealer prices you save lots of money. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE I would honestly give zero stars if I could. I was treated extremely poorly when I inquired about my brother's car on the phone and nobody seemed to know what was going on or what repairs had been made/if any had been made and when the car would be ready to be picked up. My brother brought his car there after he had problems with a repair that had been made by the same shop months before. The car was not properly fixed so he brought it back in and instead of the shop fixing it for free under warranty he was billed again. When he wanted to bring his car to another shop and called Triple A for a tow truck to move it they literally told Triple A that they would not allow them to move the car because work had been already done on the car. When I then called and asked to speak to the manager he hung up on me after laughing at me on the phone and insulting me for being upset. When I threatened to call the police because my brother had wanted to move the car, he said something along the lines that this had happened before and he would not care. I was extremely upset and had never been treated this poorly anywhere else. Later on my brother was not able to pay with credit card but had to pay in cash because the manager was afraid he would try to get his money back. Go somewhere else if you want a trustworthy shop that cares about you and your car. read more

Take your car to BMW Northwest in Fife instead. They give you a full and reliable diagnostic as well as wash and detail your car. I made an appointment at German Car Specialists for 9:30 to replace some clips on my Mini Cooper and get a new oil filter. 3 hours later, the the car still wasn't ready. While I waited, they tried to sell me on over $1000 more work that needed to be done. I just had my car checked out in Fife and, except for the oil, everything had been fine. I finally picked up my car, $250+ poorer (of the 3 people I spoke to there, I was given 3 different quotes. The final total was higher than all 3) and it is running funny. Go to a real specialist if you care about your car. Not this hole in the wall. read more

They fixed what the dealer tried 3 times to fix and after spending a lot of effort and my money could not -- German Car Specialists could and did. Mercedes ML 320 1999 still going strong. They were aware of manufacturer required updates that the dealer had not performed while I was still using them. That's strange isn't it? I will NEVER take my car back to this place, and I would suggest anyone reading this to do the same. To give some background: I took my car in for a SIMPLE door repair that was supposed to take 2 hours. Here is a quick recap of my experience: - I ended up spending over $500 more than was originally quoted. Every single repair was at the very top end of the quote, and of course, they added some new projects along the way. - They claimed that I needed all kinds of additional repairs that had NOTHING to do with my original problem. Some of these are legitimate, while others are totally unnecessary (I've since verified with a independent party). - After my car was supposed to be fixed, they said I needed a brand new piece for my window. This had NOTHING to do with the original repair. My windows worked fine until this point, but when they took apart my door, it was then broken. I'm not saying they broke it, but after my experience, who knows. - They never called me to give me an update at all. I had to call them every time. And of the 5 times I called them to get a status update, not once did anyone know who I was or when my car was to be done. Every single time I was on hold for at least 5-10 minutes while they tried to figure it out. - When I got my car back there was a 6 inch gash right in the middle of the inside of the window on the door they had been working in. It was clearly a brand new gash, as you could see shavings of the window on the sides of the scratches. When I asked about this, the owner absolutely lost it on me. He was dropping f-bombs, was visibly irate, and extremely defensive. At one point, he literally said "yea, fine, we fu*king did it, what do you want me to do about it?" Just to clarify, all I did was walk back in and ask about the new gash in my window. - The owner of the shops only defense was that he had a piece of paper that shows scratches and dents on the car when it's dropped off. Note: You are NEVER made aware of this occurring, nor are you given a chance to sign off on it. If that was protocol, why wouldn't you have the car's owner sign off on this? I can come up with a piece of paper that says anything I want on it. He never showed me the alleged piece of paper either. - He claims that the cause of the scratch was likely "a piece of paper got stuck in the window." When I pointed out that a piece of paper can't cause a gash in a window so deep that you can see it through the tint on the outside, he lost is again (I mean border line catatonic). I also pointed out that if a piece of paper did indeed do this, the scratch would run the entire length of the window (not just right in the middle). That didn't go over well either. Just to clarify here: There is ZERO chance a piece of paper could magically make a 6 inch gash directly in the middle of a window. It was clear they did it and we both knew it. - After much bad noise on the owner's part, he offered to go to a junk yard and get me a new window. There was no response when I asked if it was match the tint on my window. He couldn't have cared less about making this right. - So to recap: My car was in the shop 2 days, when it was supposed to be 2 hours, no one called me once to give me an update, I spent hundreds more than expected, and I now have a large gash in my window that goes through the tint. Awful experience. Needless to say, I wouldn't trust this place with a Yugo. Caveat Emptor. read more

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!! Have used this shop for the past year to service my 2002 530i BMW and am a pleasantly happy customer. The service can sometimes be expensive but I believe you get what you pay for and have always felt good driving away after service. They will wash, wax, and vacuum cars after service and also provide a shuttle service if needed. My past service they even scrubbed my headlights back to basically new because they noticed they were foggy, great initiative. Made an appointment for an oil change on my BMW 550 and when I showed up they said they needed it until the following day. When I voiced my annoyance after "making an appointment" they said they would get it worked into the daily schedule. Four and a half hours later the oil was changed and included a big fat labor charge to replace two back bulbs of $37 (not including bulb). They didn't even reinstall trunk interior panel. Maybe that is cheaper than a dealership but I had already purchased the bulbs to replace myself and let me mention I was never called to see if I wanted to be bent over like that! If I had an unlimited budget I would have taken it to the dealership. Needless to say, I will not be back! read more

Have taken our x5 here a few times now. Eric is awesome, he explains in detail what needs to be done to the car. For instance, we recently had a check engine light come on, took our x5 in and turns out it needed a new glow plug and glow plug module. This is our first deisel vehicle and Eric took the time to explain the differences between a standard spark plug and a glow plug. I felt my car drove great before, after getting it back, it felt like it drove even better. They also vacuumed out pine needles. We will definitely be back. read more
