I already had an offer from the original piano store in Seattle but was hoping to work with a local dealer if possible. He gave me his information and at first he suggested I go with the other store as they gave me a really good deal. However later he texted me to hang tight as he tried to crunch some numbers to try to match the other store's offer. Note that none of the other stores in the area I went to were able to do this. I sold a Yamaha baby grand piano and Dennis and Lili made it so easy. They were such a pleasure to work with. They were completely up front, gave a very fair price, and followed up with everything they said they would. I used their online form and followed up with a call to the Pasadena store. The manager there made sure to pass my information to Dennis, the owner. Dennis called me back and gave me a range that he could offer, which was definitely a good price for my piano. Pick up with a flight of stairs was also included (unheard of with other piano shops). Lili drew up the contract and sent it right over. Dennis evaluated the piano a couple days after pick up and Lili followed up with the amount before their accounting department cut the check, just like she said she would. I have been searching for a used Yamaha piano with my wife for a couple months. I saw a listing on craigslist, I believe, and went to check it out at the store. They had a huge showroom of Yamaha and other types of panels, some of which were made in China. They had some really fancy ones from Germany and others from Japan such as Kawai. I insisted only on pianos from the US, Germany and Japan. The owner really took his time with us and wasn't pushy. We found a Yamaha from the 80s made of Rosewood that ended up costing us less than I expected. It was in great condition and did not originally come with the stool so the store was making one to match especially for this piano. They also threw in free delivery and free tuning and were super prompt about everything. I don't like shopping in general but I have to say it was pretty fun. The owner is pretty chatty and personable. read more

We just bought a new Yamaha from them. Michael is super helpful！Unlike some agressive and scary sales，Michael is super calm, and knowledgable as well. He doesn't force you to buy anything，instead he explains and shows you the options and differences. My daughter is very specific with her piano, so we ran into some sales from other stores who completely diminished her sensitivity and implied that kids know nothing...But sometimes they do know. Would have given 0 stars if I could have. Very nice pianos but horrible customer service. Me and a buddy of mine walked in and wanted to check out the pianos that were on display and after 15 minutes of fiddling with the keys, the owner rudely tells us to leave and that "there are practice rooms at PCC." He also said "this store is dedicated to 'shoppers'" like we weren't shopping for a piano. Little did he know, I'm in the process of looking for a baby grand for my recording studio. I've never seen such horrible customer service in my entire life. There were literally 0 people in the store and now I see why. Michael Chan Williamson the store manager was excellent in his customer service. He was very patient and explained the mechanisms of the upright versus the grand. He explained all the different lines of the Yamaha pianos including Bosendorfer. He followed up with me through emails with additional information. The two Bosendorfers at the store had excellent rich sound (better than the Steinways I thought) but my living room was too small to accommodate that particular model. I sold my old piano, a Yamaha, rather swiftly through Dennis, the store manager; the piano movers came in and out; no fuss. The Pasadena store is the closest to where I live. They have a good inventory in the showroom (Yamahas, Knabes, Bosendorfers; new or refurbished) and are more than willing to search through the warehouse database for what you are looking for if they do not carry it at the present store. They guarantee the lowest retail price and are willing to reimburse you for the difference should you find a price lower than their offer. This was not our case since we had a pretty good deal. My partner and I were helped by Leigh Moore in our search for an upright. We picked a new Knabe WMV 121 in the end, with Roslau wires. Overall I am happy. Leigh is especially helpful in imparting knowledge about the pianos and is polite and personable . So if you want to feel confident in your selection, I highly recommend asking her opinion. I have been shopping for a new piano for almost 9 years. When I began the process in 2010, I was a single mom with two kids in high school and one in middle school and I had gone back to school myself to finish my MFA in piano performance at CalArts. At the time, I decided it was too big of an expense with my responsibilities as a mom and decided to reward myself upon finishing my MFA. That happened in 2012 and the obstacles kept coming. Expense after expense for my kids kept preventing me from purchasing my long-awaited piano.
