10/10 service -- both in workmanship and customer service. I won't name drop, but I originally took my E46 to a shop in Rancho that held onto my car for three weeks with no real service done. The only thing they managed to do was tighten caliper bolts, yet they still couldn't diagnose the issue. I told them I believed it was a wheel bearing going out based on the noise, and I literally had the part in hand already, but they insisted it wasn't the bearing. Not to mention, in their care my check engine light popped up as well... I decided to bring my car over to German Star Motors, which is conveniently just down the road from me, and I'm so glad I did. They properly diagnosed the issue (surprise -- it was the bearing), completed all the work in under three days, and charged a very reasonable price. The communication was clear, the turnaround time was fast, and they actually listened. Overall, this is a great shop that clearly knows BMWs. I'll absolutely be returning and would recommend German Star Motors to anyone looking for honest, efficient, and knowledgeable service on European cars.

Some smell good for the whip once a job is done right.

Brought my "baby" here after some bogus work from another shop, Constantin and his guys took care of it, no more check engine light, it wasn't a small job either, it was a bad high pressure fuel pump. I now love this shop and will keep coming back.

I am a new Mercedes owner and a first time customer of German Star Motors. I did my research and called them on a Thursday morning to have a Aux. battery checked/changed. I was given an exact estimate on the phone and told to "Come On Down"! I dropped my 2016 S550 there at about 11:00am and it was finished at 4:30pm the same day. Service Was Excellent, Pricing was definitely Fair and Reasonable. I will continue to go back to German Star Motors for years to come. Thank you German Star Motors for a pleasant experience.

Great work done by these fellas got my car running really great was pretty fast and proficient. I was giving a really great deal for the kind of car that I have definitely is a happy camper with the results that Ive been receiving.

Also missing the other rear engine cover screw.

I wouldn't recommend taking your BMW here or buying a vehicle from these folks. I normally use another shop but used these guys for a extended warranty alternator replacement on my BMW. 5 months later, I had not been driving the car much do to Covid(mileage reflects this)but took a trip to Tahoe where the engine began to smoke from the engine at the top of Echo summit. Upon first inspection it appeared there was a leak from the rear of the valve cover. I had the vehicle towed to my family's place in Tahoe and went to remove the engine covers to take a closer look - and this is where things get interesting. I found the rear two engine cover screws missing, and once I removed the cover I found a thumb sized hole in my valve cover- guess where? The n54 valve cover has two screw holes in the rear, and mine was missing one leaving the hole in the valve cover! The last shop or anyone to touch my vehicle was German star motors. There is no possible way to re-install this cover without realizing the screw could not be installed because the hole for it and the plastic around it was missing I spoke with the shop manager who denied them having damaged it, emphasizing they haven't seen the vehicle in 5 months ago(I've been working from home, again mileage reflects this). I let him know I would be replacing the valve cover in Tahoe and could not bring him the vehicle for him to inspect it. I offered to bring in the parts, photos, and video I've collected as I meticulously combed through their past work. I found more bad work, including missing screws, clips, and engine wiring not routed correctly. I told him I would be towing the car to my preferred shop in Sacramento for further inspection as I was concerned plastic had entered the valve train and could cause issues. I told him it wasn't possible to bring him the vehicle at which point he told me there was nothing he could do and then accused me of having "another agenda". I think the photos speak for themselves. At this point I'm into the repair over $700 in parts alone. These guys can't even replace an alternator without causing damage, I'd never let them touch my vehicle again.

These employees really are fine! Roman helped me out

I do not recommend this service. The pricetag is similar to Mercedes dealership and the quality is much less.

He inspected them and showed me how each one was clean, dry, and completely fine. He then inspected the rest of the engine compartment and the undercarriage and showed me that it was all in great shape. Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. I am very happy with the service he provided and the price I paid! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

What was most disappointing wasn't even the noise itself--it was the response when I returned to the shop. I was told that "all cars do that" and that I would need to pay for a diagnostic. No one offered to recheck the wheel installation, inspect their work, or verify that the vehicle was safe to drive. I'm not claiming the shop caused the problem, but mistakes can happen during any service. Tire installations and rotations involve human work, and I expected at least a basic inspection when a new noise appeared immediately after the service. Instead, my concerns were dismissed. As a customer, it's frustrating to leave wondering whether the vehicle is safe to drive and feeling like no effort was made to investigate the issue. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this shop. Don't go here please go across the street your safety is very important!!!!! Thank you for your response. To clarify, my concern was never that a tire rotation requires disassembly of suspension or steering components. My concern was that a knocking noise appeared immediately after the tire installation and rotation, despite the vehicle not exhibiting this symptom beforehand. I did not ask for a free suspension diagnosis. I asked that the shop verify the work that had just been performed. As a customer, I expected basic checks such as wheel torque, wheel seating, and tire clearance before being directed toward a paid diagnostic service. Had someone simply said, "Let's double-check our work first and make sure everything related to the tire service looks correct," I likely would have had a very different impression of the experience. I understand that the noise may ultimately be unrelated to the tire service. However, when a new symptom appears immediately after service, I believe it is reasonable for a customer to expect the work performed to be verified before additional charges are discussed. My transmission had started slipping in 4th and 5th gear, which made it extremely difficult to drive in automatic, so in the intern I drove my car in the manual option. It worked for a while but at times I would slip gears on the freeway and it became unresponsive when trying to shift gears to catch again. Long story short, I came here based on family recommendation, dealer wanted 10k to put a new transmission in. AAMCO wanted to charge 6k. I was quoted 2.8k for the transmission work to be done. My vacuum pump had been leaking for years so I asked about that. Dealer wanted to charge 2k and Jose charged me only 500. Not bad at all! I took a gamble and let his team do the work... I usually do my own work but obviously I can't do a transmission... unless I have the right equipment. Now my car runs phenomenal! I didn't realize how worn out my transmission was. Granted this "new" transmission is used, it was certified and warrantied so it was rebuilt. Sounds new to me! Car runs amazing and my brakes are more responsive after the vacuum pump change.
