Several weeks ago, I arranged for my vehicle to be delivered to this location. They contacted me once the car was ready, informing me that everything appeared to be in order, and they had driven the vehicle to confirm its condition. I flew in from Las Vegas to retrieve the car. However, upon starting the vehicle, I noticed that the odometer reading was exactly the same as when it was initially delivered--an oversight on my part, as I could have inquired about this at the time. I only realized the discrepancy after refueling before commencing my drive back to Vegas. Within approximately 48 minutes of driving, the check engine light illuminated. Having already paid over $2,700 for repairs, I contacted the them, who advised me to bring the vehicle back in. The car began to exhibit rough running symptoms, as if it needed a tune-up or similar maintenance. I opted to stay overnight in a hotel, reasoning that they would need additional time for a proper repair. When I returned, their receptionist, D, informed me that same-day service was not possible. A technician later called to inform me that the vehicle required a tune-up along with repairs to an electrical component, which would cost an additional $1,800. He mentioned that such issues often go undiagnosed initially and that their initial diagnostics could not have identified this problem. He also stated that there was no guarantee the vehicle would function properly if I paid for the additional repairs. The next morning, I returned to pick up the vehicle and noticed that the check engine light had been cleared. It was unclear why the codes had been erased if the repairs had not been completed. I declined to pay the extra $1,800, as I believe the problem should have been identified during the initial inspection. Subsequently, I had the car towed to a reputable shop in Las Vegas, where they diagnosed the issue as a damaged ignition coil--a simple tune-up fix. Since then, the vehicle has been running reliably. Had the Sacramento shop properly driven or fully inspected the vehicle as they claimed they would, they would have identified the damaged coil during their initial assessment. My primary concern is the lack of accountability demonstrated by this establishment. Their failure to diagnose the issue correctly and their inconsistent communication are extremely frustrating. I can confidently say I will never conduct business with them again. Love the gentleman working behind the desk, but even they're being taught to lie to customers. Regardless if their computer couldn't catch the coil damage, a simple look at that area would've told the technician that it needed to be replaced. Don't charge someone almost 3k, then come back and tell them they have to pay an additional 1.8k for something that is routine. NEVER AGAIN!! read more

10/10 service -- both in workmanship and customer service. I won't name drop, but I originally took my E46 to a shop in Rancho that held onto my car for three weeks with no real service done. The only thing they managed to do was tighten caliper bolts, yet they still couldn't diagnose the issue. I told them I believed it was a wheel bearing going out based on the noise, and I literally had the part in hand already, but they insisted it wasn't the bearing. Not to mention, in their care my check engine light popped up as well... I decided to bring my car over to German Star Motors, which is conveniently just down the road from me, and I'm so glad I did. They properly diagnosed the issue (surprise -- it was the bearing), completed all the work in under three days, and charged a very reasonable price. The communication was clear, the turnaround time was fast, and they actually listened. Overall, this is a great shop that clearly knows BMWs. You're better off going to an actual BMW dealership to get your car serviced correctly. Had to take it back to Neillo BMW where they corrected the installation of the spark plugs. No issue now with my car. German star state they warranty their work but after receiving only one message form them they ghosted me. Will never take my business there and advise you to take your car elsewhere if you don't want to have to pay for a service twice. read more

I wouldn't recommend taking your BMW here or buying a vehicle from these folks. I normally use another shop but used these guys for a extended warranty alternator replacement on my BMW. 5 months later, I had not been driving the car much do to Covid(mileage reflects this)but took a trip to Tahoe where the engine began to smoke from the engine at the top of Echo summit. Upon first inspection it appeared there was a leak from the rear of the valve cover. I had the vehicle towed to my family's place in Tahoe and went to remove the engine covers to take a closer look - and this is where things get interesting. I found the rear two engine cover screws missing, and once I removed the cover I found a thumb sized hole in my valve cover- guess where? The n54 valve cover has two screw holes in the rear, and mine was missing one leaving the hole in the valve cover! The last shop or anyone to touch my vehicle was German star motors. There is no possible way to re-install this cover without realizing the screw could not be installed because the hole for it and the plastic around it was missing I spoke with the shop manager who denied them having damaged it, emphasizing they haven't seen the vehicle in 5 months ago(I've been working from home, again mileage reflects this). I let him know I would be replacing the valve cover in Tahoe and could not bring him the vehicle for him to inspect it. I offered to bring in the parts, photos, and video I've collected as I meticulously combed through their past work. I found more bad work, including missing screws, clips, and engine wiring not routed correctly. I told him I would be towing the car to my preferred shop in Sacramento for further inspection as I was concerned plastic had entered the valve train and could cause issues. I told him it wasn't possible to bring him the vehicle at which point he told me there was nothing he could do and then accused me of having "another agenda". I think the photos speak for themselves. At this point I'm into the repair over $700 in parts alone. These guys can't even replace an alternator without causing damage, I'd never let them touch my vehicle again. read more

The dashboard in my 2013 'toy' - 5-speed La-Z-Boy (Fiat 500) with 105,000 miles was lighting up like a Christmas Tree with all kinds of dire sounding warnings. Turns out to be a crummy sensor issue that cost with labor like 200-bucks to fix. They could've ripped me off, big time, I had no idea what was wrong. These guys got my trust. I was furious. After me explaining the issue, scheduling appointment, taking time off work, driving for 40 minutes, they said 'oops'. Really unprofessional and didn't even apologise. The person took my name down and I was set to come in at 9:30 am. Over the phone they told me it wouldn't be longer than an hour. When I go there they quoted me 2 hours. I was unhappy but had to get it done. When it was finally done it was 3 hours later! The next day the low coolant and low windshield washer fluid light came on. Im not giving these guys any stars because of the way they did my car. I have a bmw m5 and these guys didnt do anything to my car all they did was hot wire rig it to get me out of their hair. My car sat at their shop for 3 months and they couldnt figure out what the problems were so they left my adaptaions not run my smg wiring harness was thrashed they put used parts on my car and charged 3 arms and three legs for all their shitty work. Took my BMW here to get my water pump replaced, and less than 16 months later, it goes bad. Called them and they said water pumps are only guaranteed for 12 months. Would not give me any discounts for my previous work. Also found out they used an aftermarket water pump, but they never told me this when they did the work. I do not recommend this place. read more

Since then they have performed multiple replacements and repairs, some at no cost to us. EXPERT SERVICE MANAGER AND MECHANICS Roman the service manager and mechanics are technically very competent. He diagnosed and fixed problems with the A4 and programmed an Audi Q5 successfully. The main VW dealership that we bought the Q5 from did not know how to program the car. ****BEWARE**** Took my Mercedes here for a oil change & new spark plugs, initial inspection was told cars fine no leaks everything checks out. A few days later engine light on (that has never happened)car acting like its going to cut off, so I took it back and a 2nd inspection was done and they say it was a "defective spark plug" mysteriously after bringing my car here it now has a leak and need some transmission work. I wonder if I even got new spark plugs for that matter an oil change, seems like they are rip offs looking to make extra money lying.
