Where do I start so I go to the dealership and they want to charge me $2000 which is way out of my budget I noticed that there are a few auto repair shops in my community so I went to one and although the price went down and it was still substantially out of my budget I called Top Auto Repair and they agree to look at my car and diagnose the problem with my left blinker although it took time to order parts, they went out of their way to find me the best deal and I very much appreciate that. I took my Chevy Malibu here with an odd electrical issue. They charged a very reasonable rate for diagnosis. They offered to take that amount off the repair bill if I had them fix it. The rate for the entire repair was very reasonable, though I'll admit it did take about two weeks for them to get to me. I've been to Top Auto on two occasions. I needed my struts to be replaced and I read that they specialize in struts so I decided to take my car here. I had such a great first experience! Every time I talk to someone, whether it is on the phone or in person, it is always a great customer service and that is something that I don't find very often these days. After replacing my front struts, my car ran so much better and I was very pleased. A few months later, I started to hear a noise on the passenger side in the front tire and I wasn't sure what it was so I decided to bring it back to Top Auto because of my great experience the first time. It turns out that one of the pieces of the strut that they replaced last time, didn't set right so they fixed it and I was able to pick up my car within 3 hours all fixed up and no charge, again with great customer service and I left feeling completely satisfied. I definitely recommend this place for any car problems, because struts are not the only thing that they fix or replace. Their shop is also kept very clean and organized which always makes me feel at ease. I will definitely be returning. read more

Came here because it was closer in my area than Smog Xpress on Folsom blvd. Also Northgate smog down the road was closed that day. Prices here are about the same everywhere else, no discounts here though like some of the other competitors. First time I came here for smog check, I waited almost 2 hours for only two other cars that were getting smogged before mine. Seems like they take longer setting up, maybe machines are different, i don't know but I do know other smog shops are GET IN GET OUT. I'd rather take the long drive and go to a quicker smog only place. The office needs more coffee utensils, and the certificates on the wall are all crooked!!! read more

Sadly, my car decided it was just the perfect time to have it's fuel pump just die on it out running errands. Thankfully, my dad suggested to take my car to Hi Tech because he had taken his Camaro many times before to have work done with them and was always given a fair price. I had my car towed in to the shop a little before noon. They checked in the car and then were leaving for lunch until 1pm and had no expectation to have the car done by the end of the day nevertheless on a Friday. The owner gave me the estimate which was very fair for having my fuel pump and several other minor things being replaced. At 4pm, I received the phone call that the car was ready to be picked up. Customer Service was top notch. I will be returning to have my future repairs done there. read more

I stopped by Top Auto Repair on Northgate and asked the Customer Service gentleman if they could install my oil filter in my 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier Convertible because Young's Auto Center could not install it although they charged me to do it. As soon as I walked in at Top Auto a young mechanic greeted me with a big smile and asked if he could help me. He immediately pulled my car up and installed my oil filter with no problems. All of the mechanics give Excellent Customer Service! I highly recommend their mechanic shop for any services on all vehicles. I definitely give them 5 stars although I wish I could give them 10! I love this place! These people changed my mind about how I felt about auto motive repair shops! Automotive repair places to me where the biggest rip off! But this place has renewed my faith in automotive repair shops. I brought my daughter's car here to have it repaired so they could pass smog inspection, I dropped it off and the next day I had my daughters car back and passed the smog inspection. I wish I had known from the beginning that they did smog inspection I would have brought it here from the begining. . From here on out I will bring all my cars to these honest people. read more

Upon entering the building, everything seems nice, you're greeted and welcomed. The lady behind the front desk appears to be overly friendly. I want a diagnostic done because I didn't pass smog so I need them to figure out the problems with the codes that the smog shop gave me. She gives me a quote and I abide by it. So as for the diagnostic, she charges me $120. All I want for them is to tell me the problem so that I can get it fixed myself. She doesn't take too kindly to that and I think that was my mistake there. She knew she wouldn't be receiving anymore of my money seeing as how I could fix the problem myself so she tries and milks as much as she can from my little stay there. Time goes by and it's been about an hour or so. She says she hasn't fully diagnosed the car yet, and it will take a little more time. She then charges me an additional $80 to further diagnose the problem. I have no choice because I really want to know where the problem is and I've already spent that much and of course she knows that. So they continue to "look" at it. I go out around the side of the building to see that they're not even looking at my car, none of the workers. They have it parked off on the end of the garage, while the other cars are on the lifts and being worked on. All i can do is shake my head at this establishment. I go back in and sit and wait for them to "finish". Finally, the lady in the front tells me the problems with my car. There is a leak in the evap system (which I already knew, because I took my car to get smogged and they had told me that). All the problems they told me, I had already known, and I had even informed them that I knew beforehand from the print out of my smog test. They offered to fix the leak. They were going to charge me $250, saying it would take 3 hours to fix because they have to get deep into the car. A few days later at home, I took the rear wheel off along with the wheel well and fixed the problem myself in 30 minutes. All in all, in the end, they just want your money. They will appear to help you and want to help you, but it comes at a great cost. Very shady on their part of business and I will never go back here again. read more

Excellent service! Great prices! Glad to have finally found a shop where the mechanics are honest and provide quality work. My car broke down in Sacramento (I live an hour away) and needed a full tune up and a new distributor...pretty much an overhaul. Efrain (the mechanic who I dealt with) had my car ready in two days and was very reasonable with the cost of labor. I have had work done on three different vehicles at Top Auto Repair and they did excellent work. Two of them had check engine light issues. They were not simple to resolve but once the work was completed I have had no other issues with the vehicles. They were courtious, efficient and gave me a ride to and from my home in Natomas at no charge. When dealing with complex emmision control problems it takes the right equipment and a technician who understands how to use it to diagnose and make repairs. Top Auto had both. I will be coming back if I ever need additional auto reapir work done on my vehicles. read more
