If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! I used Yelp to put a blanket request for the Sacramento area, and Stress Free Auto reached out right away! I was able to take my car in first thing the next morning and was greeted in such a friendly and warm way. Knowing they had a few jobs ahead of me, they called a niiiice Lyft and made sure I got home free of charge! From there the communication was excellent. There were continual texts that provided information about their progress not only with searching for the main problem, but also a general overall inspection of my vehicle. Once complete they sent me an estimate, I called to coordinate which things I wanted repaired/addressed, and they sent over a finalized quote that I signed immediately. It was quick, informative, and quite literally stress free The main problem was a cracked exhaust manifold. Seems like an extensive repair, right? Well, they let me know later that afternoon that they were done! Amazing same day service! Absolutely incredible. It's been a month since the repair and I haven't had any issues. So, in my book, that's a job well done! The only small gripe I have is the cost. Again, it was same day service, so it's understandable that I might have paid more than I would have at another local shop, but they did offer a discount on the initial inspection cost. Some other shops roll the inspection cost into the cost of repairs, but unfortunately Stress Free doesn't do that. Plus, a couple of suggested repairs were somewhat of a laughable cost. If memory serves, they quoted me around $60 to replace wipers. I'm not sure if it was a quote for all 3, or just one, but I spent $15 on a wiper on the way home and installed it myself. Whatever, they are trying to make money! Despite my small price gripe, I will be using Stress Free in the future for any vehicle concerns I have!

Dropped off my vehicle and work was done sooner than originally quoted which is a good thing! I paid for what was quoted with no hassles or any sales pitches which I appreciate! The gentleman who greeted me when I first came in right when they opened was pleasant and actually looked like he wanted to be there very easy to talk to and straight to the point. They diagnosed the source of the oil leak, and because I have an extended warranty, I went through the warranty process and authorized the repair. Their labor rates exceeded what my warranty would cover, so I paid the difference out of pocket. Unfortunately, this is where my experience went downhill. After the repair, my car continued leaking oil for more than a year. I brought it back multiple times, and each visit resulted in another attempt to fix the problem, usually by adding more gaskets. It became clear that they were taking shortcuts rather than properly diagnosing and repairing the issue. At one point, I discovered they had even stuffed rags around the oil pan. After several unsuccessful repair attempts, Auto Stop finally admitted they could not fix the problem. To make matters worse, during the course of their repeated repair attempts, they damaged the upper oil pan. Their only recommendation at that point was to take the vehicle to the dealership. That's exactly what I had to do. The dealership corrected the original oil leak and repaired the additional damage caused during Auto Stop's failed repair attempts, leaving me to pay for work that could have been avoided. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into more than a year of frustration, repeated trips back to the shop, additional damage to my vehicle, and significant extra expense.

Two years ago, I took my 1986 Chevrolet van to Smog N Go on Orchard Loop Lane in Elk Grove for a smog check, and it failed due to an evaporative leak. Looking for answers, I brought the van to John at Auto Express. John performed a smog test, and the van passed. I returned to Smog N Go with John's test results, certificate, and a video of the test being performed, and they refunded my payment. From that moment, it was clear that John's integrity and expertise made all the difference. Last week, I returned to Smog N Go for another smog check, and once again my van failed--this time because of a reported gross evaporative leak and timing said to be set at 18 degrees BTDC, even though the correct specification is 4 degrees BTDC. It was a frustrating moment, but it also reminded me of the value of having someone you can truly rely on. I brought the van back to John at Auto Express, and once again it passed the smog test. John discovered that the wrong vapor line had been pinched during the evaporative test, which likely caused both this failure and the one from two years earlier. He also took the time to investigate why the timing had been set to 18 degrees BTDC by carefully examining the distributor, vacuum advance, and vapor lines. In doing so, he found that the vacuum advance was not working properly. What impressed me most was not just that he solved the problem, but that he approached it with patience, care, and a commitment to finding the truth. John was thorough, knowledgeable, and transparent every step of the way. He explained the issues clearly, replaced the faulty vacuum advance along with damaged vacuum and vapor lines, reset the timing to 4 degrees BTDC, and provided a smog certificate for my van--all within just a few hours. I left not only impressed by his skill and professionalism, but also grateful for his honesty and dedication. Even though I live in Elk Grove, I will gladly continue bringing my vehicles to John, because people like him restore your faith that exceptional service, integrity, and true craftsmanship still exist.
