DO NOT ever bring your vehicle here for service. First of all they wanted to charge me $48 just to put fuel and engine treatment in the gas tank. $37 for an air filter. Then it cost me over $500 just to replace 2 tire pressure sensors. RIDICULOUS. these parts are $40 for a set of 4 original factory, they charged me $111 EACH. And a $43 fee for disposal. The sensor is the size of cigarette lighter. And to top it off after my card was swiped there was a$15 surcharge. I brought it there for an oil change and tire rotation. They offer Free oil changes for the life of you vehicle if you buy from them and keep their name plate on the front of your vehicle. Trust me it is not worth it. Zero stars read more

I received a recall notice for airbag service on my GMC Sierra pick up truck. I took it to the dealership and during the repair they cracked my dash. I talked to Chad, the service manager, he said that it is about $1500 to repair the crack and if they would give me a $500 allowance toward it. I ask why if they did 100% of the damage do they offer 33% of the restitution which he had no reply. Do not expect this company, this dealership, to do the right thing by their customers. Company truck continues to break down. Take it in with a list of repairs service they call when they've completed one item on list and say truck is ready. Never again! We had our truck in to get the rear differential repaired. They told us that they put in a new rear differential but only repaired the old one. We drove the truck for less than 5000 miles and started having issues with the repaired parts. I took it to another dealership who advised that the parts were good, but the work quality was bad. The bolts inside the rear differential had come out and were bouncing off the gears before busting a hole in the differential cover. The dealership reached out to the service manager at Gerry Lane who wouldn't return his calls and when we did finally get ahold of him, he claimed that because we drove about 5000 miles in less than 9 months that he wouldn't cover the repair. My car was towed into their shop on Thursday afternoon with suspected engine issues. The service engine light was on and I was worried about potential problems with overheating. They told me it would cost 399 to diagnose the issue and it would be done by Friday. Here it is Tuesday and they hadn't even touched it and they gave some BS reason because their mechanic saw an unused COVID mask on the passenger seat and the back seat is a bit trashy. What checking the engine has to do with a trashy back seat is beyond me, but that was their excuse for holding my car for 5 days and not even diagnosing the problem. I took it to Turbo Auto Repair down the street and those guys diagnosed and fixed it in around 3 hours. Only thing I feel Gerry Lane can be counted on for is to waste your time better spent elsewhere. read more

I have had two of our new work trucks sitting on their yard for over 2 months each, Twice they have said the repairs were completed only to fins out it wasnt done when we picked up the trucks. I currently have a truck thats been there for over 2.5 months for an alternator issue, there is no correspondence on whats going on and no idea when it will be ready. This is by far the worse service department I have ever dealt with. If I did not have to deal with them I would drive to New Orleans to avoid these problems. Here is a list of what your customers can count on when dealing with the service department: 1. They can count on the service department taking hours to complete a scheduled oil change. 2. Overpriced with terrible customer service. My truck was in the shop for 3 weeks and they charged me $2,600 for the work. I had to bring my truck to another mechanic after leaving gerry lane because the engine light was still on, and Gerry lane told me it "was probably the spark plugs and wires" and they could change them for around $600. Come to find out it needed a camshaft position relearn, which should have been done by gerry lane when they were reprogramming the new ECM they installed (which the truck probably didn't need in the first place). My mechanic in Ruston also told me that some of the parts that gerry lane changed probably didn't need to be changed. He also quoted me $1,800 for all the work that gerry lane did if he were to preform the same tasks. read more

My car has spent the greater part of 2 months at this dealership for a coolant leak. Over $300 just to look at it. It took the dealership 3 weeks to perform a repair on my car to replace a heating core and ECU. I had to contact the dealership daily because there was next to zero communication on what the delay was. After paying over 4k for this repair and replacing the ECU I was told my alternator was also going to need to be replaced and it would cost an additional 1k. I said no and picked up the car and learned to replace the alternator myself for $350 and about 45 minutes of work. Discovered the leak was not repaired and took the car back to the dealership. Was told this was now a different problem thermostat and it would cost over $500 to repair. Btw this was not under warranty of the original repair. Spoke with asst mgr and was able to work with the price by about $100. 2 weeks later my car was ready. Drove it for a day and discovered the leak still isn't repaired. Now the car is once again back in the shop and I just can't wait to hear what they will try to tell me next. Funny side note, since they replaced the ECU they did not reprogram the key fabs or replace so now my remote start/car alarm/keyless locks don't work. I assume they will try to charge me for this too. Why wouldn't the fix this? The facility is covered in trash parking lots and surrounding areas. I regret bringing my car here. Maybe I should have just said no to the original repair because I seriously question the integrity of the mechanics and managers at this point. Nearly 5k in and two months later I still have a coolant leak and no car. Picked the vehicle up again a few days later after being assured by service representative that the car would be fixed and that they would do a 20 mile test on the vehicle. It has been just over a week and once again the car is leaking coolant... this would be the 4th time I will have to return to have service work done on a repair I am already making payments on. What accountability are these people taking for these kinds of mistakes? Good mechanics fix a mistake, bad mechanics let them drive out the shop. Spoke with the service manager over the phone seeking to either have this repair expedited or to see if the dealership could accommodate traveling while my car was returning to the shop and was asked to take is review down. When I asked him why I should do that he told me I was a liar and that the dates I wrote in the review were off. You're here arguing with me about how many weeks the car was in the shop when your people have told me 3 times that the car is ready and I'm frustrated and looking for answers from the person in charge. He said that they had done their best to accommodate me and resolve the issue and that he thought I said I was never going back there again. The issue is not resolved! I asked him "do you think this issue is resolved?" How shady to ask a dissatisfied customer to remove a review and call them a liar to boot. When they change the oil, one of the screw was missing plus it has oil all over the driver door. Absolute worst experience I have ever with an auto repair shop. We had an appointment for September 1st to drop our car off there for a noise that it was making, as well as recalls to be checked on vehicle. The car was there by 9 on that morning, and we were contacted later in the day that it was a wheel bearing, and they would have to order that part. They said they didn't know when the part would be in due to Hurricane Ida having just hit, and we completely understood that. The following Monday rolled around , September 6th, and we'd still heard nothing. We called back and got a different story. They were having to MAKE the part for the vehicle at the MANUFACTURER, and were running behind due to COVID. We knew for a fact that the part could be shipped overnight, as we'd checked other sources. But, listened to their lies. We told them we needed the car this week, and they assured us the part would be in by Thursday, September 9th, and that we would be notified as soon as the part got there. By lunchtime that Thursday, the part was not in, and my husband called to let them know that we would be there in about an hour to pick the car up, as we weren't going to continue letting the car sit there and them do nothing. He told them they could call us when the part came in, and we'd then bring the car back at that time. We showed up about 3 to pick the car up, they panicked, and said we couldn't have the car as they had to check and make sure it was in proper running order. My husband told them he'd called 3 hours earlier to let them know that he'd be there to pick the car up in an hour, and that their time was up. He asked to see a manager to no prevail, and finally someone pulled the car up , said HERE, and walked off... Well lo and behold, about 1/2 mile up the road I realized what the panic was for. We had filled the car up with gas the prior weekend due to the hurricane going to hit. It had a little over 3/4's tank in it when we dropped it off that Wednesday. When we picked it up a week and a day later, it was below half a tank of gas. So, not only had they lied to us about parts/delivery/etc, they had also either driven our car and used a half tank of gas OR just taken the gas out of the car for someone else to put into their car since there was an obvious run on NO GAS due to Hurricane Ida... LIED AND STOLE FROM US. Absolutely pathetic. And I will let everyone that I come into contact with know not to trust the name GERRY LANE. UPDATE: IT IS NOW 9/14, AND WE HAVE YET TO GET A PHONE CALL LETTING US KNOW THAT THE PART IS IN. NOR HAS MY HUSBAND GOTTEN THE CALLBACK HE HAD REQUESTED TO FURTHER DISCUSS THE ISSUE. I came in to simply get a new key programmed at 7 a.m on Thursday. After 3 hours of waiting for them to finish programming one key, they came and told me it was all done. Got the new key fob from them only to discover there was no key with it. They didn't have a key in stock neither. Buyers beware; they do not honor their warranties. I purchased a used Lincoln MKZ in February 2021. On the test drive, I noticed that the AC was not functioning. I agreed to buy the car on the condition that the AC was repaired and Gerry Lane provided a one-year warranty on the system. The salesman agreed to my terms, but then refused to provide written evidence of his promise. When my AC broke in August, I paid them over $1000 to repair it and they refused to honor the verbal agreement. There seems to be a major disconnect between what their salesmen promise and what management actually allows. Do not trust them. read more

I experienced very poor service from the service department I had an 8am appt and I was on time, I waited all day for a call no one called to update me so I called the dealership about 430pm and the rep told me they just pulled my vehicle to the back and wouldn't have a diagnosis until the next morning and she would call us. The next day came no call, I went to the dealership around 1pm and asked to speak manager he checked on it and they were just getting started so still no diagnosis sp they would have to call me. Mt 2016 Camaro sustained water damage due to flooding in this area. and I wish I had never bought my car from Gerry Lane or taken it there to be repaired. I received Horrible customer service from Service Manager, O'neill Grainger - blamed me for the length of time taken to repair vehicle, accused me of trying to hide the water damage (really? after I brought the vehicle there with an open insurance claim stating water damage???), and refused to accommodate me in any way. His tone and attitude was very nasty with me over the phone. It took 3.5 weeks to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle and an additional 2 weeks to repair. I was told that if they couldn't prove water damage, that my insurance wouldn't pay and neither would warranty because of water damage (what??). However... water damage was proven. Despite having purchased my vehicle from Gerry Lane, I was denied a loaner for a week until my car was finished. Had to pay $200 for a rental on top of $700 ($500 deductible and additional charges). Car was returned to me filthy, 29% oil life (even though new cars purchased from Gerry Lane get free oil changes!), and gas light on, and despite insurance having paid $11k for repairs ($13k before my insurance's appraiser presented them with a lower estimate from AllStar Chevrolet), car is still not running as I thought it should be after driving it for a few days. I expected more from Gerry Lane. It's funny how I've never purchased a vehicle from AllStar Chevrolet, but they were willing to provide a loaner and repair the vehicle for less. I was just ready to get my car back and stop paying for a rental. I would like to recognize Jessica in Service and Jassie in Sales. They very efficient in keeping me updated on the status of my vehicle, and I appreciate their effort. Pedro and Rose were also extremely nice to me when I picked up my car. read more

The original visit to Gerry Lane was for a diagnostic of the Check Engine Light that resulted in a charge of $112.17 that was described as a flat rate diagnostic fee that would be credited to any required repair. The diagnostic was that the timing chain needed to be replaced because it had worn or stretched to the point where the sensor determined that it was out of tolerance. The engine was running fine so I told him that I would do some research and check with GM customer service before doing the rather expensive repair. I discovered that the stretched timing chain had been an "extended warranty" repair on all Traverse models prior to the 2010, but a new/improved timing chain had been installed on 2010 models. I further discovered that many 2010's built in the first month (July) of 2009 had the old timing chain and were subject to the same failure. To make a long story short, after conversations with GM Assistance I was given a GM/Dealer repair assistance deal that resulted in what was described as a GM flat rate repair with a customer deductible of $704.35 that represented a 55% customer cost share. I brought my vehicle in to Gerry Lane Chevrolet on Monday, March 28, to start the repair process. Late Monday afternoon, the service advisor called to tell me that the Service Manager (Oneill ?) told him to call me and let me know that the final cost might be "higher or lower" than the original $704 based on cost of parts actually needed during the repair. On Tuesday morning, the Service Advisor (Pringle) called back and said that my cost share would be about $200 higher (I don't remember the exact amount) and he needed authorization to proceed. With my vehicle disassembled, I had no option but to say "Okay" but I wanted a detailed listing of what the additional costs were for. He said he would check with the Service Manager and let me know. About an hour later he called back to say there were no specific additional coat details, just that it was higher. Obviously, I was taken aback - not that the estimate changed but that the service rep could not explain why and could not detail any extra parts required. When I picked up my Traverse, I was given the list of parts used and they were all part of the standard items needed for a timing chain replacement. The Service Advisor confirmed that there were no extra or unusual parts on the list. Since the Service Advisor couldn't resolve the issue he suggested I come back in and meet with the Service Manager to seek resolution. I also questioned the lack of a credit for the diagnostic on the final invoice, I was told that the final repair cost of $948 was a flat rate from GM, so the diagnostic charge couldn't be credited. The "Flat Rate" from GM statement conflicts with the additional charges included by the Gerry Lane, that increased from the original $704.35 customer deductible that I was quoted by the GM Customer Service Advisor and the Service Manager. I was obviously confused as to what the process has been and why all of the costs and credits seem to have been completely arbitrary and no accounting can be provided. The GM Customer Service Advisor attempted to get a response from Gerry Lane and was basically told the same thing as I had heard. Apparently, the Service Manager told GM that a gasket had been added as a unexpected part. Since the total cost increase had to be over $400 for my 55% share to increase $245, that must have been one incredibly expensive gasket. And, obviously, when you take the front of the engine off to get access to the timing chain, you don't reuse the gasket that must be damaged in order to remove the engine front cover. Since three different GM Customer Service Advisers attempted unsuccessfully to get a reasonable response from the Gerry Lane Service Manager, I decided not to waste my time going in for a face-to-face meeting. Gerry Lane used to be the best and most reputable dealer in the State, and perhaps the South. At this point, I would neither buy a new vehicle from Gerry Lane (I have owned 8 GM vehicles with 4 bought from Gerry Lane) nor take a vehicle there for repair. The descriptive terms "fraudulent", "untrustworthy", and "unscrupulous" come to mind. I will be sending a similarly worded letter to the Better Business Bureau and the Lousiana State Attorney General's Office to fully document the Gerry Lane unacceptable and fraudulent business practices in the Service Department. read more

I've always been impressed with Gerry Lane's service center and how helpful they were with my 2003 Saturn Vue. When it came time to buy a new car, the sales team has not let me down. They were friendly and knowledgeable and did not pressure me into buying, rather they really seemed to care about my budget and my needs and finding the right car for me. The buying experience was easy and pleasant. As the car wash was already closed by the time I'd purchased my car, I was supposed to come back to get my new car detailed, as well as get the required inspection sticker. When I returned the following Saturday, I was informed that my salesperson had left Gerry Lane..and the car wash was closed. Joshua Tilley quickly stepped in to help me finalize some remaining paperwork and arranged an appointment and a loaner car for me to get to and from work while they detailed my car and got the state inspection sticker. As impressed as I was with Gerry Lane before, this impressed me further and demonstrated that the Gerry Lane team cares about the customer more after the sale and has a true commitment to customer service. not very honest. took a car in for a recall and now I have paid $1,500 for additional work they said I needed. They ordered the wrong part and I had to drive back and forth at 105 miles each time. they finally rented a car from Enterprise and said they would pay for it, but guess what? I got my American Express bill and it is on that bill. They should wear masks like bank robbers. read more
