Our favorite pizza and Italian beef sandwiches are out of this world! This is a very small restaurant and gets busy quickly so if you are dining in.... have some patience. My husband and I were staying at a hotel nearby and this place was recommended. Bad move. He ordered the food to go and we ate in our room. His meatball sandwich was decent. it was my food that was the problem. I ordered bruschetta and Italian wedding soup. The soup was ok but far from homemade. The bruschetta was slices of bread with raw garlic on top. Then in another container was mozzarella, really bad tomatoes, and basil that had been stored in the fridge... you know this because of the brown marks all over the leaves. So I called to find out if this was some kind of mistake... I've never had bruschetta that was even close to what they served. I was informed by the nasty employee on the phone that "if you had ever been to Italy you would know this is how they serve it." Hmmm... ok... I've been to Italy more than once and have never been served raw garlic on non toasted bread. So after being out on hold for a long time I drove back over to the restaurant and asked the person behind the counter to look at what I had been served. She agreed that the bread was not toasted and garlic was raw. She refunded my money and offered some kind of appetizer if I came back. Not once did she offer to make me something to eat now. I would never go back to this place. Whether I lived here or not. Horrible customer service and mediocre, when not raw food. read more

Called in my pizza order was told 25 to 30 min. got there about 5 min. early 3:35 pm on a Saturday. There was a few customers in the restaurant area. Got my pizza right on time. Smelt fantastic. The salad dressings are delicious, the marinara is passable, and the kids LOVED the pizza. I got the gnocchi (nothing to write home about), as well as a toasted ravioli appetizer (meh). For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu which arrived completely frozen. I ended up having to take it with me and let it thaw. After that, it was tasty. We arrived to give Gerrys a shot. Upon arrival, we were a bit nervous about the food because the menu is very large. We ordered the meatsa pizza. We were pleasantly surprised how great the pizza tasted. The mozzarella sticks we ordered were the frozen variety but not bad. Beers are a bit pricey. The waitress was very attentive, the place was clean the tv's were a bit of a distraction. We look forward to trying other things on the menu. The decor is a bit outdated, but it doesn't take away from the quality pizza that we had. We will go again and recommend the pizza. read more

Consistent pizza every time. Delivery time is quick about 30 minutes usually. Price is reasonable for the quality of the pizza. I usually order 4 topping on a large thin crust for about $18 with delivery. Sauce is not too runny (Which is good). The toppings taste fresh. The cheese is a perfect amount. They have been around a long time. I hope they continue to have good business. And people should order pizza from here. read more

This is my favorite pizza place around. Unfortunately I can't say their customer service is the best. The last two times we have delivered they have messed our pizza up. This last time they tried to argue and when we told them we would stop giving them our business along with our other family members, she simply replied "ok have a good day". Called in a pick up order on a Wednesday afternoon, wanted a local pizza place besides Pizza Hut I tired call 3 different places but a lot of pizza places weren't open until later. I have never done carry out here last time I was there was for a party years ago. When I called it in they said 25 mins I came within 45 mins. When I got there a young lady was on the phone and picked up 3 delivery order. Stood there for about 5 She then asked if I was here for pick up I said yes, she said one moment. I stood there for about another 10 mins. She had one big table in the back and a smalll one but the dining was dead. She then came back the mans togo order that was sitting behind me. Went back out to the table and came back for my pizza that's now been ready for 35 mins. Got home pizza was great but wow cut her a break and staff someone else to help the front staff was not happy with waiting 15 mins for a pick up that was way ready before I got there read more

If this place were not near all the area hotels it would be out of business. The pizza is the only edible food there. Any dinners are frozen and then prepared. The people on the phones/desk are rude consistently. The pizza is very hit or miss. We routinely order toppings that they don't put on or its cold. Only keep going back because it is across from my office building and is super convenient when you need quick pizza. That's probably the best thing about them, it is quick. read more

If you like Blubbery microwaved wings and a poorboy sandwich I wouldn't feed to the dogs then go for it. As for service my brother and I waited forever and we were the only ones in the place. I didn't get my soup, and when we complained about the wings she said there's nothing she can do about it, (like re-cook them or take it off the bill since we were grossed out)and it cost us a small fortune. I have eaten here before and the food was pretty good, but I tried ordering carry out and the girl on the phone was so unbeliavably rude I never even placed the order!!! The way she answered the phone made it seem like it was a major inconvenience to take down the order. Absolutley no manners, no greeting,and a whole lot of attitude, and when she couldnt get the address right for like the 3rd time proceeded to shout at me like an out of control teenager. Gerry's is one of the best Restaurants in Rockford. I'm Always Amazed whenever I Visit. Unfortunately Front of house Management leaves a lot to be Desired. I'm from California where there's an abundance of Italian restaurants aiming to achieve the Authenticity found here. Sadly on my last Visit to Gerry's mistakes were made by a server, my wife's meal came out before mine which was incorrect but not wanting to send it back to not delay or complicate matters she settled believing that my meal would be presented together & correct. To our Surprise not only was my dinner MIA it took another 20 minutes to get it Overcooked & Wrong Again. I asked for the Manager on Duty Al or Alfred took his Sweet time making it to our table. We explained the situation & informed Al what had occurred & hoping to inform him so that this would not happen to someone else. Al looked at Us said"yeah & Ok you came in during our Rush Hour " it was after 9:00PM??? Both my wife & I worked in the industry for Over 10 years (Rush Hour in Rockford) on a Tuesday???His tone was Dismissive, Condescending, & Indifferent. Lesson learned next time I'll call in for Delivery & Do Yourself a Favor call it in & Avoid Al at All Cost. read more
