I wished that I would've tried this place at the beginning of my trip because then I would be stoping by every time I pass through Kahalui. Instead, I decided to try it out on my last day right before going back to the airport. I got the hot and spicy shrimp and it was DANK!! It wasn't spicy at all, but then my spice tolerance is pretty high. Shrimp was packed with flavors. Definitely one of the places that I will return once I'm back in Maui!

We came here right at opening, and the person at the window was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the pineapple shrimp plate, and it was ready in about 10 minutes, just as mentioned. The food was absolutely amazing. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the pineapple sauce had a great balance of sweet and spicy flavors. The portion size was generous as well. I personally didn't enjoy the crab slaw as much, but my husband really liked it. Overall, we'd definitely recommend this place.

10/10 time and time again! Only down side is that they only take cash.... Typically I order the shrimp scampi - this time I opted to ask the cashier what her favorite flavor was and she said it was the pineapple, flavored shrimp. Man oh man! It did not disappoint and it's definitely my new favorite.

Bomb Bomb Bomb! Loved the buttery garlic shrimp plate and mac salad was amazing too! So good we hit this truck 3x in 5 days. We will definitely be back.

Love this food truck by the airport! They specialize in shrimp plates. We got the spicy pineapple and it was so good! I like a little extra a hit so they were able to make it extra spicy. Just a heads up the tails and skin are on. If u like no skin you'll have to peel but it's edible. Seating area is nice outside under a tent with shared seating for other food trucks. They also only do cash or venmo.

A great meal to start a trip to Maui with as it's really close to the airport. The shrimp had a delicious sweetness to it from the pineapples and the sauce. I wouldn't say it was spicy, but it had good flavor. It's surrounded by other food trucks so you can try more than one place. We did eat outdoor on some benches and the wind was really picking up at the time. We had to really make sure our plate didn't fly away

Omg YUM. I'm not typically a shrimp fanatic but we got some of the garlic shrimp and it was delicious! A bit pricey but definitely some of the freshest, sweet shrimp we've had with awesome flavors. Unfortunately they were out of the Mac salad by the time we arrived (around noon on a Saturday) but the shrimp was totally fine on its own.

After watching an IG feed of a guy I just adore, it was time to come check out the best shrimp he has ever had. Cash only and wait is a good 15-20 minutes for a dozen #30-35 shrimp that were overcooked and lacking in spiciness with a few pieces of canned pineapple. Yes, there are two big scoops of rice and Mac salad with the fake crab meat in it. Price is okay for what you get and I like the sweetness of the sauce but very little heat. Love the seating which are painted picnic tables under a sturdy cover which helps to protect from the sun. Not sure if come back again. Compared to Oahu shrimp trucks, they are better for me but you always judge for yourself please. Mahalo

My family needed our first meal of the day in Maui after having the longest flight from SFO. Customer service was great, friendly staff. My bf ordered the spicy pineapple and I ordered the combo plate Hawaiian. My goodness the flavor was very rich and buttery with the sausage and garlic and the crab Mac salad. My son never eats shrimp and he loved the Hawaiian flavor. My bf demolished his plate he loved the flavor of the spiciness. The atmosphere was very nice and pretty with all the plants with all the food trucks.

Superrrrrrr salty. It could have way more potential if there was less salt on the shrimp and the hot dog.

Honestly maybe the best thing we ate in Maui. Came here for a quick lunch on a weekday afternoon, and ordered the pineapple shrimp plate to share. There was no line, and this truck is cash only but I would highly recommend! The shrimp had a lot of sauce on it and bits of pineapple (canned but still good). The sauce was a little spicy but not overwhelming. Also came with rice and mac salad, as typical plate lunches do. I almost wish I got my own plate haha. This will def be a place I go to again next time I am in Maui .

Got to stop by the food truck park during my time in Maui. So many different options for you to try. I went with the hot and spicy shrimp platter. There were plenty of other flavor options as well including garlic and pineapple shrimp. The portion size was great. I had some to enjoy and some to enjoy later! I wish my shrimp had a little more spice and flavoring, but overall it was a good dish to try. The service was good, of course it was a busier day so it took a little bit for our food to come, but the staff was very friendly. There are plenty of seating options under there covered tent in the center of all of the food trucks. The parking lot is a little tight, but there are parking options. Take note that their restroom options are Porta potty so keep that in mind before you come!

Stopped by this food truck right after landing in Maui. The shrimp was delicious thou I found it not too special. The rice was a bit so so for me. We tried to eat at the food truck park but there were too many flies. Overall a good snack.

    Take out orders?

Yes, you can do take out orders. Call ahead and order at (808) 298-7109. Just be careful on the drive home as there is a lot of sauce and the smell might tempt you to eat it before you get to your destination. Enjoy. Aloha.

Are the shrimp plates gluten free?

Yes. Garlic shrimp and butter. No wheat

    Is this walkable from airport?

I'd say no, especially if you have luggage. Grab a Lyft and you'll have time to enjoy your meal,

Yes, they’re open. Follow them on Instagram at @gesteshrimptruck for the latest.

Not really. People bring chairs & towels or sit on the few logs. We ate in the car. Bring wet wipes for your fingers. Yummy but a little messy!

Aloha! You can always call them and ask Geste (uncle)

Depends if it's raining hard no . Light rain maybe yes

It was a short 5 min hop over from the airport to Da Tambayan Corner and parking in the adjacent lot was easy. All the food trucks are ringed around the central tables and look for the aquamarine Da Soriano truck over by the road. Their food style is Filipino with a Hawaiian twist if you hadn't discerned it from their name. They have a build-your-own-combo grindz menu that you can pick a couple of proteins with rice options or check out the picture menu if you really don't know what to get. My wife went for the combo of Pork Adobo & Garlic Butter Shrimp with Mac & Green Salad, both very flavorful choices. Her friend went double pork action with Chinese Roast Pork Belly & Calamansi Grilled Pork Belly and Pancit Bihon Noodles as her side. The Chinese roast pork belly was as crispy good as any I've seen in any Chinatown. My Seafood Trio had a Miso Glazed Salmon Fillet, 3 Baked Mussels, 2 Shrimp Tempura and topped with Kaboyaki sauce & Thai Chili Aioli. The Shrimp were not the typical panko coated but battered and tasted good drizzled with the 2 sauces. The mussels are topped with a heavy cheesy mayo sauce and baked. Of course, it wouldn't be a Hawaiian plate lunch without a scoop of white rice and a scoop of mac salad. All this wasn't enough and our friend went back to chat with the chef and came back with a double serving of banana lumpia in crunchy spring roll wrap and drenched in heavy syrup. This was an excellent dessert and wrap up to a great lunch. We were so stuffed, we had to skip dinner!

Peeked their Instagram and saw a corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich. Say what? Less than 5 minutes later I was texting my order in. Unfortunately, no one actually ever answered my text (please don't tell people to text if you don't reply). Being impatient, I said screw it and just drove myself there to check. They are located in Kahului Industrial in the Ferguson's parking lot, across the way from Lee Bear's. It's a really, really random spot and parking could be a challenge if it gets busy. If it's slow, you could park right in front of the trailer. The family that runs this food trailer is born and raised in Guam and their menu features Chamorro cuisine like arrozcaldo, corn soup, etc. It didn't seem like it to me at first because everything was so so familiar to me, but my friend who was raised in Guam reminded me of how it's heavily Filipino influenced and mentioned that the grilled cheese sandwich was her childhood growing-up. No wonder (I'm Filipino)... Anywho, got my corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich! The corned beef isn't like your St. Patty's day corned beef, but more like the Palm brand canned corned beef. The bread was also slightly sweet and was the perfect vessel for all this deliciousness. The sandwich was so tasty and had the perfect amount of meat and cheese. Definitely a great way to start my morning and can't wait to have it again. My friend also recommended trying their corn soup & their red rice whenever it's available. Will definitely try those in the future too.

We have tried quite a few of the trucks and there were long lines and I was hungry so we drifted over to Kaipo's as they didn't have much of a line. They were quick to cook em up, just long enough for us to buy some pineapple lemonade from the stand next door (Wailemi). The food was MOUTH WATERINGLY GOOD. I cannot understand how they didn't have a long line!! People are missing out here! My Shrimp Dynamite was served in a small container, full of melty mushroomy goodness, with crunchy courgette, shrimp cooked to perfection and a creamy sauce on top. It wasn't as hot as I like, but I only deem something spicy when I can't feel the front of my face and steam is coming out of my ears so perhaps it is spicy enough for the general public. Nevertheless it was DROOLWORTHY, so good I had to share a single piece of courgette with my husband, but that was all he was getting! No more, Nada, nope. All mine!
