Some of the best shrimp here! It's conveniently located right next to the airport so we came here for our last meal before leaving. It came out around 10 minutes of waiting. got the garlic shrimp and rice! i felt like the shrimp wasn't the best quality and it was pretty salty. i didn't taste much but salt and butter, i'm not sure if they forgot to add garlic but i was pretty disappointed because i know this place is super hyped. i will also say that waiting for food took extremely long despite there not being that many customers. read more

3.5 stars. We ordered their most popular item, which was the Hawaiian Scampi. I thought the it was good, but nothing memorable. I do appreciate the large shrimps and generous portions. We headed over soon after landing in the morning, thinking we could eat as soon as they opened. Turns out, they opened 20 mins late and didn't seem bothered by it. There were also so many flies at the picnic tables. We had to constantly shoo them away while eating. read more

If you're flying in and you're hungry, be sure to stop by first before heading to your hotel-- you won't regret it! The truck is cash only-- so make sure you have some on hand!! You're gonna want to try everything! My son is 5 and won't stop asking for the shrimp scampi from here! We also got the hot and spicy and ooooou it was spicy haha. The Mac salad is also so good! This was one of my favorite places to eat in the island. I'd definitely come back during our next visit! The staff is really friendly and there's some picnic tables to share in a common area between all of the other food trucks. read more

Absolutely delicious!!! After seeing so many rave reviews about Geste on instagram, we stopped by after landing from our flight!! It was only 7 minutes from the OGG Kahului airport and was the perfect pick me up when you're starving after a flight. Something to note is that they are cash-only, but I saw they also accept Venmo via a QR code! All the 12 shrimp plates are $20 flat. Geste shrimp truck is located in a little food truck area with other vendors. The tables were clean and cutely decorated and there were sunshades overhead to keep us cool and away from the intense noon sunlight. Spicy Pineapple Shrimp 10/10: Such a great portion, two people shared the 12 shrimp plate and it left us both full. The shrimp was so flavorful and garlicky without being overly salty. It also wasn't too spicy (maybe a 3/10 spice level !). The pineapple added such a nice bite of tanginess and sweetness, we wish there was more of it! The mac salad was also so delicious, fresh, and creamy. I'd highly highly recommend Geste's and this cute food truck area if you're flying in/out of OGG!! read more

Located at the food trucks across the street from Costco. * CASH ONLY* They have their own parking lot for food trucks which is nice. Was craving some butter garlic shrimp and Geste Shrimp truck came up as a rec on Yelp. Thought we'd give it a try. It turned out to be the perfect dinner after doing road to Hana. My husband and I shared one plate of the shrimp plate (Hawaii's scampi flavor) which is just butter and garlic. The plate is served with 12 pc of shrimp, two scoops of rice, and one scoop of crab Mac salad. The portion size is pretty large. It was a little salty but overall, still delicious. Sauce ks super garlicky and buttery. Everything you would want on the shrimp! If ever you're craving a shrimp plate - this is the place to go. Please be aware that you'll have to wait a little bit to get your food. It's made fresh to order but nothing too long. Maybe about 10-15 minutes. After 10+ years and here's my update. It's still the best garlic butter shrimp I've had, even after trying a few trucks in O'ahu! When I last went it's $13 a plate, now it's $20; but at least their quality is keeping up with the inflation. I love how they give so much sauce to eat with the rice. It's definitely not for the health-conscious folks but hey if you're on vacation, yolo. The shrimp was succulent and plump, and it's easy to shell. Everything was delicious! The lady said it would take 25 mins but my order came out in less than 15 mins. She's also friendly to answer my questions. And CASH ONLY. The truck is now in a food truck complex with other trucks around, and even a big tent with picnic tables, away from the sun and rain. Pretty open and comfortable, the only thing is the amount of flies that would come pester you. So if you have some sort of fly repellent, bring it wear it. always a great stop to go to right after landing at Kahului! read more

This five-star review is long overdue!!! Geste Shrimp is one of THE best bites on the island and absolutely worth waiting for. Located at Plate Lunch Marketplace, this food truck is right by Costco. There's a shaded outdoor seating area with plenty of picnic tables. When we went, it was pretty windy, so hold on to your hats (and food LOL)!! Husband and I ordered a Hawaiian Scampi plate, which comes with 12 pieces of shrimp, rice, and crab mac salad. SO INSANELY YUMMY. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and bursting with garlicky buttery goodness, and the crab mac salad was SO savory and flavorful -- the BEST mac salad I've ever had. They had me at garlic shrimp - YUM! There's plenty of parking in this food truck area- plenty of options so it's good for big groups/indecisive people. They charge $20 for a plate of shrimp (12), 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of crab mac salad. They have 5 different flavors of shrimp but the most popular is the hawaiian scampi which is garlic butter. This was SO flavorful, a little on the saltier side by itself but perfect with rice. I just wish the shrimp was peeled. My friends said the mac salad was too peppery but I didn't notice that. read more

If I could give this 10 stars I would. I got the hot and spicy shrimp and it was packed full of flavor. The crab mac served on the side was delicious best mac ive ever had. And the rice i would literally take the rice soak it in the sauce and eat it like that it was that good. I can see why people rant and rave over this place and I will be back soon to try another flavor that I hope is just as good. read more

We landed at the airport and Geste was very close by. It's right in front of the Costco close to the Maui airport. We ordered the Hawaiian Scampi and Spicy Pineapple. My favorite was the spicy pineapple but both were very good and seasoned very well. There's a lot of food trucks close by but I'm glad I ate this. It was a very filling lunch because we were both so hungry. There's a lot of different food trucks in the same area which was very convenient to try different food options. read more

I had heard all about the shrimp trucks in Hawaii and was eager to give one a try during our trip here. We stopped by Geste's after a stocking trip to Costco and it was just alright. It's located in a food truck park with a lot of seating in the center area. It's a great spot to just hang out and try a lot of the different food truck options that are available. I ordered the Hawaiian Scampi plate which was just garlic butter. I regret not ordering something a little more unique (like the pineapple) as garlic butter is pretty standard and can be found anywhere. The food was VERY buttery and VERY oily which some might love but I found it a bit much and overwhelming as I couldn't really taste the shrimp/garlic. It felt like there was some leftover film or oil in my mouth after each bite from the aftertaste. The shrimp shells are also left on, so it gets messy fast - grab lots of napkins! The mac salad was great though and my favorite part of the dish! I'd be happy to try another one of their plate options the next time we visit. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for just the Scampi plate though. read more

Geste's Shrimp Truck is a must-try in Maui. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The spicy pineapple shrimp was my favorite sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of heat. The Hawaiian scampi was also amazing, loaded with garlic and classic local flavor. Portions were generous, the rice soaked up all the sauce, and everything tasted fresh and made with care. Located across the airport, food truck galore!! This caught our eye since we were craving shrimp! Lots of flavors to choose from, I chose the Hawaiian scampi which was basically garlic butter! You can never go wrong with that! My shrimp bowl was PACKED with flavor ugh so good. The only downside was that they kept the shell on :/, BUT they did butterfly it open. Rice was overflowing too. Geste shrimp truck is a laid back spot serving hawaiian plates and a great stop for new visitors. I tried their hawaiian scampi shrimp plate and it was very delicious and filling!! My friend and I found ourselves very thirsty afterwards as the entire dish was quite salty and heavy. I've tried a few shrimp plates in Hawaii and I think their Mac salad is one of my favorites! Soon as I landed to Maui, I crave for something different, food wise, I stumbled upon this place by Costco food truck... and I can say I really love the seasonings they put on their sauce, the shrimp was amazing and not gummy or hard. I even ate the shells, that's how good it was. The place is a friendly area, where people get to talk and share the food while enjoying the time eating. Stopped by this food truck during our recent visit to Maui and hands down they have the best shrimp plate. We ordered the spicy pineapple shrimp place which come with 12 shrimps, 2 scoops of white rice and crab mac salad. The spicy pineapple shrimp was delicious and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. The sweetness of maui pineapples coupled with the spices added amazing flavors to the overall dish. They are cash only and service is quick. Yummmm! Exactly what I imagined when you hear Hawaiian garlic shrimp! Sooo delicious! Maybe not good for you but tastes amazing so who cares! You're on vacation anyway unless you're lucky enough to live here in Maui! Takes me back to the original shrimp trucks in Oahu. Before the whole food trick craze Hawaii has always had shrimp trucks and this one does not disappoint. Was deliciously cooked scrimps in butter and garlic makes you lick your fingers good! This is located in a food truck court. You sit and eat on outside benches. It can get warm depending on when you go. Service was good, wait was decent amount of time. Not really. People bring chairs & towels or sit on the few logs. We ate in the car. Bring wet wipes for your fingers. Yummy but a little messy!

Their food style is Filipino with a Hawaiian twist if you hadn't discerned it from their name. They have a build-your-own-combo grindz menu that you can pick a couple of proteins with rice options or check out the picture menu if you really don't know what to get. My wife went for the combo of Pork Adobo & Garlic Butter Shrimp with Mac & Green Salad, both very flavorful choices. Her friend went double pork action with Chinese Roast Pork Belly & Calamansi Grilled Pork Belly and Pancit Bihon Noodles as her side. The Chinese roast pork belly was as crispy good as any I've seen in any Chinatown. My Seafood Trio had a Miso Glazed Salmon Fillet, 3 Baked Mussels, 2 Shrimp Tempura and topped with Kaboyaki sauce & Thai Chili Aioli. They are located in Kahului Industrial in the Ferguson's parking lot, across the way from Lee Bear's. It's a really, really random spot and parking could be a challenge if it gets busy. If it's slow, you could park right in front of the trailer. The family that runs this food trailer is born and raised in Guam and their menu features Chamorro cuisine like arrozcaldo, corn soup, etc. It didn't seem like it to me at first because everything was so so familiar to me, but my friend who was raised in Guam reminded me of how it's heavily Filipino influenced and mentioned that the grilled cheese sandwich was her childhood growing-up. No wonder (I'm Filipino)... Anywho, got my corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich! The corned beef isn't like your St. Patty's day corned beef, but more like the Palm brand canned corned beef. The bread was also slightly sweet and was the perfect vessel for all this deliciousness. The sandwich was so tasty and had the perfect amount of meat and cheese. Definitely a great way to start my morning and can't wait to have it again. My friend also recommended trying their corn soup & their red rice whenever it's available. We ordered the ribeye steak which they cooked the steak medium (as requested) and came with rice, macaroni salad and vegetables. Additionally, we had the chicken plate as well. Both dishes were great, just on the pricy side and maybe ask for the sauce on the side. Parking can be found on the street or across at the lot.

Proof that this food was no joke. Mac salad, regular salad, and dynamite shrimp were all on point!

Like others mentioned, the ice cream was a little difficult to eat because it was straight up frozen & wasn't creamy like your typical scoop of ice cream but the flavor was on point especially if you love Hawaiian Haupia like I do. Luckily for us we got to enjoy our coconut fix while tanning outside the storefront because they only had two seats available. I also appreciated that you could go back in after you finish drinking the coconut water to cut up the coconut to eat the inside too!

Best shrimp so far! I wish their recipe was cooked here in the Bay Area or even in Oahu (I only say recipe because we didn't really care for the way the business is handled; see below). Their shrimp is even better than the Famous Kahuku Shrimp Truck in Oahu. We had the Lemon Pepper shrimp and Hot and Spicy shrimp and it was soooo delicious; not too overbearing or oily like the ones in Oahu. A little pricey but a lot of places in maui are. I deducted one star for their poor customer service and tardiness. We arrived a little before 11:00 am because we've read it gets busy with long lines and we wanted to get an early start in our day. Both yelp and their website states they open at 11:00 am, and they didn't show up until 11:37 am. We were hungry and getting annoyed because this pushes our schedule back and they already open late as it is (would be better if they opened at 10:30 am). While waited, we saw other cars arriving on time too looking for them, but drove off or ate at other trucks because they didn't show up. I tried calling them a couple of times and no one answered; not very reliable when they say on their site that you can call in your order. Their site also states they're located on Kahului Beach Road next to Kahului Harbor, but it doesn't say which side. So for those of you that arrive on time, but don't see the truck because of their tardiness, they parked on the left side of the entrance to the harbor. When we got there there were other food trucks including a different shrimp truck, but not the Geste shrimp truck. After they finally arrived, we walked over (because we were waiting on the wrong side since we didn't know which side they would be and they were late) and found a local there who told us they normally come at 11:30 am even though their site states 11:00 am. Okay, that's misleading; they should change their website. So after they finally get set up it's past 11:30 am, so they're late even for their unofficial operating time. We're the second ones to order and the worker is not friendly even though they just got there and there's no reason to be annoyed at customers this early in their day. It seems they don't feel the need to be nice or on time because they have so many customers anyways. This experience was annoying, but the shrimp is worth trying at least once if you have the time to waste and don't mind the unfriendly staff. We, however, didn't feel it was worth the time, price or rude customer service to go again during this trip. read more
