Thai Mee Up food truck is always our first stop! We always grab lunch before hitting Costco for essentials. I've tried several of the different trucks in the ara but they are one of my favorites! A couple of my go to orders are: Panang Curry - Sweet with a touch of heat! Coconut curry is simmered with fresh vegetables. Get it with chicken or tofu. Served in a bowl over jasmine rice. Lemongrass Fried Chicken - Marinated in a variety of fresh herbs and spices. Dusted in flower and deep fried until golden brown, it is served with jasmine rice, cucumber salad and homemade sweet chili dipping sauce.
After watching lots of food reviews on YouTube, Thai mee up was a must visit on my list. It's right by the airport so we stopped by with a huge appetite. We ordered the drunken noodle and it just looked.. really sad. Whatever this is was not drunken noodle, the noodles were still white and there was no depth in flavor. If you've had drunken noodle before, it has a smoky and deep flavor from the wok and soy sauce + some spice but this was just noodles with a LOT of garlic. This was probably one of the worst Thai dishes I've had. I think if it wasn't categorized as Thai food, it would be pretty good but I can't call this Thai food.
I always call in an order for myself and usually takes about 15 minutes and it was about that long once I ordered and got there in 5 minutes and paid for it. Cashew Chicken is usually my go to and it always comes in a savory sauce and a bountiful amount of yummy vegetables like onions, broccoli and stems, carrots, green onion, cabbage, zucchini and garlic over Jasmine Rice. The sauce is so yummy and is in most if not all their dishes. I'd recommend trying the Pad Thai, Fried Rice with Shrimp and their Lemongrass Chicken is popular too! Priced very reasonably. Add a refreshing Thai Iced Tea too!
We went straight there from the airport. The lady who took our order was very nice. Unfortunately, they did not have sodas, just juices and water. I ordered Pad Thai and hubby got the crispy shrimp. They were both good. Hubby wanted more rice. He must have been very hungry after the long flight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The area to sit down was clean and quiet. Very relaxing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Aloha!

Stopped at Thai Me Up right after landing in Maui and grabbing our rental car--thanks to a few YouTube vloggers who raved about it--and I'm so glad we did. Tucked inside the food truck park, this place absolutely lives up to the hype. The food was perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. The papaya salad, even as a side, completely stole the show--fresh, bright, and full of just the right balance of tang and spice. The tuna with garlic roasted veggies was incredible, everything cooked and seasoned to perfection. We also tried the cashew tofu, which was simple, fresh, and satisfying without being overly complicated--just great ingredients prepared really well.

I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp (+$1), which brought my total to just under $19. A bit pricey but the price range is average for foods trucks. Also, Thai food tends to cost more, I've seen--food truck or not. I received 5 delicious, plump pieces of shrimp so the $1 was worth it. The noodles and veggies, on the other hand, lacked the kick and flavor I was wanting. The dish tasted like it was half-heartedly stir-fried in oil and dressed in a sweet chili oil. I did not really taste of any spice or shoyu (not umami in flavor). The portion was fair but smaller than expected. Overall, I would be open to trying other dishes that they're maybe more known for like their pad Thai to reevaluate my eating!

I'll admit I try a lot of Pad Thai at a lot of restaurants and am hardly ever disappointed. Thai Me Up is no exception. The food is fresh and delicious and is ready fast. Can't go wrong! We got a brunch of different food around the food truck area and I heard a lot of good things about Thai Mee Up. We got the curry and the shrimp ( idk what the names are) both which came with rice so it was a lot of food. I highly recommend the curry, one of the best curry I have ever had. The food comes out fast. They said 15 minutes, but we got it an eight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Depending on when you come, it can be quite windy and it's a little bit hard to eat when it's that windy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They're also lots of bugs that like to join you so keep that in mind when you decide to eat on site or take it to go[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]there are only porta potties on site although you could go to Costco and use their restroom so just plan ahead.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are lots of food trucks in this area at least eight. But be warned if it says it's open online, it might not be open but if it says it's closed it might be open. It's a little hard to tell when it's actually open and when it's not. We got the salmon and ahi special. The flavors are good. They're definitely flavorful, but I found both of them to be a little bit salty, which made it a little bit harder to eat. The portions were a little bit on the smaller side as well. Definitely glad to have checked it out. Food trucks in Maui are hard to go really wrong. I did have my eyes set on the Geste shrimp place but again it was closed, even though the Internet said it was open. read more

Our last meal before leaving Maui. We didn't get to try Mama's fish house so I heard the ex sous chef opened his own food truck, so I had to try! I got the pad thai and it was delicious! It wasn't too sweet like most are. Really good Thai food! Cheaper alternative to Mama's Fish House! read more

thai mee up is a safe option in the sea of food trucks at south maui gardens. my friends and i wanted to check out south maui gardens, so i decided to get thai food as my vegan dinner. i got the green tofu curry, and was a little underwhelmed by it. the color was not as green as i hoped and taste was okay! still, curry and rice were warm and freshly made. we went during a really busy time and had to wait a little bit, but that was expected. we were able to find a table and sit down while we waited! i hope to order a noodle dish the next time i come. read more
Thai Mee Up is always our first stop on Maui. My favorite combo is the Drunken Noodles with shrimp and Thai ice tea. I'm not a spicy eater so the sweet milk ice tea helps take the heat (food and outside temperature) down for me. Best Thai Food in Maui. We stopped by for dinner and ordered their fried pork ribs (served with rice) and their famous drunken noodles - both the dishes were a bomb. We devoured every bite of it and it was bursting with flavors. Portions were good and their spice levels are out of 10. This is a permanent food truck encampment with a tent and enameled pic nic tables. There are spray bottles and paper towels yo clean down your table after dinner. All tables are spotless, so we did the same We all had different versions of pad Thai and vege fried rice. Excellent. Four dishes , no drinks , 60.00. Across the street from Costco. Lots of secure parking. We would go back. read more
Located near the airport/costco. There's a parking lot with a bunch of tables surrounded by food trucks. We got the shrimp over rice. It took 15ish minutes for our food to be cooked. I thought it was good but not the best I've had. We would like to come back and try some of their other items. read more
Hey there Yelpers!! Next time you are in Maui, make sure to stop by the Food Truck Market located across the street from Costco. There are 2 food truck lots - one next to the Courtyard by Marriott and one down the street across from Costco gas. Thai Mee Up is located across from Costco. This is a very cool lot filled with various food truck options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the center area, there is covered picnic tables with cute lights for your dining pleasure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the pad Thai with tofu for my meal....and it was delicious. The team were fast, helpful and professional. I look forward to coming back and try the curry as it too looked a-mazing!! I'm from Oahu and wished we had an amazing food truck lot like this. Honestly, some FIRE Thai food! Service was friendly and the food truck is awesome! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is casual which makes it appropriate for any one of any age![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Best things to eat are is the Satay Chicken, Garlic Shrimp and Drunken Noodles. This is hands down the best Thai food Ive ever had!!! I eat Thai food a lot in general but nothing compares to the dishes here. Im obsessed with this truck's Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodle. My family and I ate here multiple times during our trip because it was that good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was quick and effortless and there's plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun to see the chickens walking around too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Location is conveniently near the airport as well. This place has definitely gotten GREEDY. The first time we came was almost 10 years ago, and we've been visiting every time we visit Maui. . The portions are much smaller now and the flavor just wasn't quite there. Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but not $40-for-two-plates good. I even called ahead to place my order, and we still had to wait in the regular line just to pick it up, which didn't make much sense. For comparison, yesterday at the ABC Store I paid the same $40 and got a dessert, two ahi rolls, a French dip sandwich, curly fries, gyozas, and an ahi poke sushi item. Way more food and honestly better value. It just feels like they've gotten a bit greedy. This will probably be our last time coming here. Look at the portion size... read more
3.5 stars! At the advice of Fran C., we visited the food trucks across Costco, and Thai Mee Up quickly caught my eye. The cashew tofu was the only vegan dish on the menu which made ordering easy. Then the wait began.... tick tock tick tock. Sigh. Phone in orders were being picked up while I stood by sad faced and hangry. When the order was finally served in the compostable container, I could hardly contain my glee. The plate felt light. Inside a large scoop of rice smiled up at me next to a steaming melange of mostly cabbage, a few pieces of zukes and juicy morsels of tofu. The cashews added a nice bite to the dish. Flavor wise, very delicious and almost too salty. Portion wise, it appeared small but with all the chewing of the cabbage, I felt comfortably full. For about $15, it was a good meal. Only wished they could've offered more vegan options or been able to adjust the dishes like pad Thai since everything was made to order. read more
This was pretty good Thai food but would stay away from the curries. We had the satay which was a generous portion with a great peanut sauce but was missing the glutinous rice and instead just had jasmine . Pad Thai was perfectly moist and had great texture . Real disappointment was the Panang curry. It wasn't even red , more yellow and watery with minimal meat . A good stop otherwise read more
We wanted to try one of the Maui food trucks before heading back to the airport. There's a couple of food truck parks near Costco, and we decided to try Thai Mee Up based on recommendations from locals. Garlic shrimp was my favorite! Nicely spiced and I loved the combination with Thai basil. Pork rib was really good too, and papaya salad went well with it. We went around 6pm and the service was quick. We went to South Maui Gardens on our recent trip to Maui. My husband got the drunken noodles and I got the tom kha with shrimp and Tai tea. Service is great everything was cooked perfectly and flavors were excellent. We were excited to try based on reviews we've seen on YouTube. Highly recommend going hanging out there and trying. We would definitely go again on a return trip. Its truly a gem. read more
Lemongrass fried chicken had a subtle lemongrass taste to it. I was looking for a stronger taste. It also could be a bit crispier. Wasn't a fan of the papaya salad. My partner said it had a soapy taste to it. The only thing that saved it was the sweet chili dipping sauce. That sauce was pretty good. We came in for lunch right as the food trucks were opening. It is in a food truck complex across from Costco. The service was great; they were giving free samples to try several dishes. - Pad see ew (5/5): The noodles tasted so fresh, perfectly cooked. Almost tasted smokey.
