Yooo, saw a grilled cheese sandwich and I was ALL over it. For real, real. They randomly popped into my head one morning and I was pleased to see they were open. Peeked their Instagram and saw a corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich. Say what? Less than 5 minutes later I was texting my order in. Unfortunately, no one actually ever answered my text (please don't tell people to text if you don't reply). Being impatient, I said screw it and just drove myself there to check. They are located in Kahului Industrial in the Ferguson's parking lot, across the way from Lee Bear's. It's a really, really random spot and parking could be a challenge if it gets busy. If it's slow, you could park right in front of the trailer. The family that runs this food trailer is born and raised in Guam and their menu features Chamorro cuisine like arrozcaldo, corn soup, etc. It didn't seem like it to me at first because everything was so so familiar to me, but my friend who was raised in Guam reminded me of how it's heavily Filipino influenced and mentioned that the grilled cheese sandwich was her childhood growing-up. No wonder (I'm Filipino)... Anywho, got my corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich! The corned beef isn't like your St. Patty's day corned beef, but more like the Palm brand canned corned beef. The bread was also slightly sweet and was the perfect vessel for all this deliciousness. The sandwich was so tasty and had the perfect amount of meat and cheese. Definitely a great way to start my morning and can't wait to have it again. My friend also recommended trying their corn soup & their red rice whenever it's available. Hidden Gem! Great food! Friendly service! Just what we needed to cure our Super Bowl hangover! Love the fact that you can text your order in advance. The corned beef grilled cheese was perfectly grilled & the egg was an unexpected treat! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with this sandwich but was pleasantly surprised. Hubby got the 2 egg Portuguese breakfast plate. Over easy eggs cooked properly, sausage was ono and it came with LOTS of rice, so much so that he actually didn't finish it all, which is shocking! The food trailer is located in Ferguson parking lot in Kahului. The workers are nice and welcoming. The trailer looks well kept and clean. I ordered a mini pork belly plate which filled me up. The potato mac was loaded and I was surprised how much they gave. The flavors are unique and are Chamorro style. I definitely recommend you give them a try. I went while it was still dark, so I did miss it the first time & had to turn around. The corned beef & egg grilled cheese that's all I need to say is to die for! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The corned beef isn't like the one you'd eat on St. Patrick's day, but more like canned Palms. The bread was a little sweet which complimented the sandwich perfectly. Everything just works together, the cheese, corned beef, egg, & onions. The perfect breakfast, I'm glad I don't work in town. I'd be there more often. Go stop by & get yourself one, you won't regret it. They open early (6:00 am), so you can definitely stop before work. First time here and I love it! The food that they serve gives you that comforting feel. I ordered a breakfast plate with corn beef and onions. The portion size to price is great and it fills you up. I couldn't even finish my plate! The staff here are super nice. I was helped by a sweet lady and she greeted us right away. Its cool how food from Guam and Philippines are similar. I went for breakfast and I would definitely want to go back and try their lunch menu. The location is in an awkward spot to find if it is your first time here. The parking here is also a little confusing because they are located on a parking lot that shares with other businesses. I would totally recommend this place!! I saw this food truck on ig before and finally was able to give it a try since I won the valentine's yelp giveaway :) I got a free corned beef grilled cheese which was really ono and quite fulfilling. I also texted another order ahead which was the Nengkanu Breakfast, and they replied quickly. Lived on Guam for several years, wife's family and my brother in law are all born and raised from both North and South Guam. The BBQ culture of the island is a big deal there and these guys are bringing that Chamorro flavor with aloha style. If you're not familiar with Chamorro cuisine it leans towards savory-spicy-sour as opposed to Hawaiian which would be typically savory-sweet. The offerings at Nengkanu are Fiesta foods done right. If I'm not mistaken they have Bbq pork ribs, pork belly, bbq chicken, empanadas, and chicken kelaguen. Most of them I believe come with red rice, potato salad and the must have Finadene sauce. (Say it with me: "fin" "uh" "den" "eee") if you like spice ask for Pika. The sauce is quintessentially Chamorro (read earlier comment about Chamorro vs Hawaiian cuisine) and enhances the flavors on the plate that you get. Ask about portion sizes as I'm still trying to figure that one out. Anyway... Been here multiple times and they are consistently friendly and efficient - and as they say in Guam, the chow is "Månnge"! Five stars and two shakas guys. read more

My FAVE place for Chamorro food in Maui!! It's a family run food truck located near the airport on the parking lot of Ferguson's. I always order the Crispy Corned Beef with Onions... so fresh with bites of chunky meat and onions, definitely not from a can! Red rice is a MUST of course and it comes with the finadene sauce to pour all over. It's delicious!! Also got to try the soup of the day, Arrozcaldo, and it was amazing!!!! The girls here are amazing and the food is excellent. If anyone has a baby, they have a chicken rice soup that my one year old LOVED!!!!! It's kind of hidden in the Ferguson parking lot but once you know it's there, it will definitely be a repeat visit. Only thing to remember is that they close early so get there early. read more

Just what my husband and I have been waiting for! Authentic Chamorro BBQ! My husband grew up on Guam and I was always told as a child that I was Guamanian but had no idea what that meant. After getting married, we moved to Saipan for a couple years then to Guam for a couple more years. My love for Chamorro BBQ grew as I lived on Saipan and Guam. We've been missing it these past few years and luckily found this amazing food truck through Instagram! The people there are your typical, friendly Chamorro people. I met Jen who went to school with the owner of Hafaloha which is an awesome shaved ice company on Guam. Just like Hawaiians have the Aloha Spirit, Chamorros have the Hafa Adai Spirit! I felt that immediately when I walked up to pick up my food. Now, let's get to the good part! The grindz! We got the fiesta plates, both ribs and chicken, and then got two orders of chicken kelaguen wraps. Let me tell you... we got a Chamorro portion of food! It was packed with what you would typically find at any Chamorro fiesta. EVERY SINGLE THING on the plate was delicious! From the red rice to the potato salad... everything was so ONO! And the pika (spicy) finadene was on point! Poured that baby on everything! Si Yuus Maase for starting this food truck! We'll definitely be back for more! TL;DR - Unique delicious offerings from a Chamorro food truck from super friendly people! I feel it is important to add some narrative to this. My girlfriend and I were going to stop at the foodtruck market by Costco for lunch en route to the beach. On the way towards Costco we saw one small food truck with "Nengkanu" written on it as we passed. Both of us were stumped and had no idea what that meant. We continued on but realized when we arrives that the Costco foodtrucks arent open on Sunday. We didnt check first, so our fault. But we agreed to go find out what this mysterious new red and blue truck in the KMart/Uhaul parking lot was, so we went back to try it out. We were both super happy that circumstance steered us back. I was raised in the Midwest and had never heard of Chamorro before I came here, and now I had found a place that served its cuisine! I love trying new things so I am grateful that this place is sharing their culture like this! That said - I have never had Chamorro food before, so I cannot make educated comments about how this stacks up to other Chamorro BBQ. So instead of that kind of judging I am going to share what I learned from my experience today to help others who might not have tried this style of food before. First - ask the ladies working there! My girlfriend and I are not bashful so we just asked away, but the ladies were incredibly gracious and obviously proud to be sharing their culture with newcomers. There was no intimidation or laughing at our expense, they were as nice as could be. Do not be afraid to ask them about the food if you are unsure of what it is! We got the Nengkanu plate (basically a sampler of most of what they offer) and two empanadas - one spicy and one regular. We ate the empanadas first. My girlfriend thought the spicy was too much and claimed the regular for herself. The regular was not spicy at all, in case you are sensitive. I thought the spicy had a nice kick without going too far. I would say the heat level is on par with a solid dose of sriracha. Next my girlfriend pulled the plate out of the bag and immediately laughed at how heavy it was. This Nengkanu plate is no joke. Splitting was a good choice for us - but we had also noticed that they offer different plate size options. I love it when restaurants do this! The ribs and chicken seemed perfectly normal and delicious to me. Had I been served these meats at a Midwest barbecue I would be confused that they were missing barbecue sauce, but other than that it was just good honest barbecue. Both of us were actually a little confused at what made this particularly Chamorro. Next we tried the Kelaguen. It is a cold chicken salad served "dry" (as in it is not a creamy mayo based chicken salad) and had some really bright herb flavors. It reminded me strongly of larb from Thai/Laotian restaurants that I have tried, but it was not spicy at all as some larb can be. I also dont think it had fish sauce, but the cold minced meat and strong herb flavors were there. Then we considered the little containers of watery looking sauce that was included. Apparently this is "finadene" and it was a game changer. BBQ is often all about the sauce and that is true here. For mainlanders, this sauce will remind you of the vinegary North Carolina style BBQ sauce. Once we got into that our eyes were opened. This next part will probably either makes Chamorros laugh or cringe... I don't even know because I don't know if this was proper of not! We started by dipping chunks of meat in the finadene and that definitely changed it from something familiar to something new (and delicious). Then we got ambitious and sprinkled it on the kelaguen and the rice and all over the meats. Apologies if this is wrong or offensive, we just got into this sauce! They had actually given us two cups - one unmarked and one with a "p" which I guessed was for "pika" which I had looked up and found means "spicy." We both like this sauce better and it was not strongly spicy but had a nice zing. After the meal my girlfriend (who had also monopolized and enjoyed the pickles, I am not usually a pickle person) noted "wow I think these people like vinegar!" It was not meant in a bad way as we had both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I noted that even though this was a heavy meal the bright acidity from the sauce made me not feel like I had just had a heavy meal, which was really nice! Later in the evening we both agreed that we are going to end up craving the sauce and probably return soon Thank you to this food truck for sharing your culture in such a friendly way, and I truly hope people that have not had this kind of food give it a try! read more

I've had the pleasure of eating here more times then I can count. My daughter who is two, loves when I order from here. She always steals my red rice. I love that they offer something different then what we are always seeing and eating. I like to order the bigger plates, and I always have enough left over for a second meal. My favorite is the BBQ chicken with the finadine. It was my first time trying out Chamorro food and it was phenomenal. I ordered the fiesta plate with pork belly and bbq chicken and along with the meat I had all potato salad and also got some chicken Nengkanu I'm not sure if I spelt it right. The pork belly was so moist and tasted perfectly cooked. The chicken was so big and had a good char. The chicken Nengkanu was probably the most flavorful out of the other meats, it literally tasted like a super refined version of poke but for chicken. And last but not least I'm not forgetting about the spicy sauce, the spicy sauce brought everything together and just the heat from the sauce made everything taste amazing. I stopped by this place not knowing what to expect as I've never had Guam-style barbecue before and oh man it was SO GOOD. I'm always skeptical of pork belly because it's usually gritty and chewy--this melts in your mouth and has a perfect crunch. The potato salad tastes like the beach.
