I'm truly shocked by some of the negative reviews here. Over the past three years, I've purchased a total of five firearms and many various accessories from 'Get Some,' and every transaction was a positive experience. (Maybe that's the difference: I actually make purchases rather than shopping for what will ultimately be purchased online.) They've even taken a couple of pieces on trade AND given me fair prices both times. Here are some other specific things I like about Get Some Guns & Ammo. Prices As far as firearms go, they have the best prices in town. I shopped all the local dealers, including the national chain stores, and Get Some had them all beat. Accessories and ammo is hit and miss: often times lower, sometimes a bit higher, but always within reason. Personnel The sales staff are real people with real opinions, and I for one genuinely appreciate having conversations with salespeople like Brandon, George, Boyd, and Mike who aren't just reciting a corporate script. It's great when two of them have intense differing opinions about one thing or another. When that happens, I realize they've spent a lot of time thinking and learning about the products they sell, and I'm the direct benefactor of their experience and educated suggestions. But once I've made up my own mind, they respect my choices. Buy Local I have an affinity with local businesses and reaping the benefits of long-term relationships with the owners and staff thereof. I'd much rather have my money stay in Utah, instead of being sent to who-knows-where and who-knows-who. Plus, if you need something right away, you can run right down to their shop and usually* find it in stock. (*Because I buy less-than-popular items, they've had to special order things for me, and they've arrived very quickly.) Politics Aside My political ideology differs from that of the gun culture. For that reason, I get uncomfortable when a conversation (or the signage in a business) goes down that troubled road. But politics have never been an issue at Get Some, and I have a feeling that if that topic--for whatever reason--ever came up, their attitude would be 'to each his own.' The 'Old-fashioned' Way Like any business, they too can get busy, especially when it rains (no one is out shooting) or on the weekends. But they've always assured me and the other waiting customers that we'll be helped ASAP. I much prefer that system over queuing up and waiting for your number to be called. If you don't like that DMV-inspired method, try the old-fashioned personalized service at Get Some Guns & Ammo. After so many positive outcomes, I can't imagine buying from anywhere else. read more

Good selection but bad customer service. They have doubled their ammo prices with the shortage going on. Range fees are high and they charge for targets, ear and eye protection. A rip off in my opinion. read more

I have purchased 5 guns from Get Some. I use the range quite a bit (twice a month maybe). I am giving them 3 stars mainly for the way they treat new customers. Until you start spending some serious cash there, they act like dealing with you is a huge pain. If there was any other place that had their selection besides Cabelas (which is a drive for me) I would go elsewhere. I am forced to give them my business because of their good selection. Their employees are hit and miss. Boyd is awesome. He is to the point and pretty knowledgeable. Some of the other employees are real dicks though. Their is an older gentleman that is real great. I bought a Glock 21 from him recently and the transaction went very smoothly. The range is pretty sweet and well ventilated, and they have some serious firepower that you can rent (machine guns, Barrett 50 cal, etc). The range can be super packed on weekends and right after work (don't go in Sundays). Anyway, if you need a good selection of 'tactical' guns (as opposed to hunting), Get Some is awesome. I would give this place zero stars if I could. My mom is a survivor of domestic violence and is paralyzed on the left side, I brought her here to teach her how to shoot to protect herself against her abuser should he return. Beth approached us very unprofessionally making comments about my mom wiggling too much when she was shooting, we explained to her my mom is paralyzed and I was teaching her, she proceeded to tell me I could not be in the shooting area with her, Which I understand for safety reasons although no signs were posted of this anywhere.I was only inside to help her get proper form to shoot safely and I explained that and Beths reply was "maybe you should take her somewhere else to learn" as if my mom being paralyzed was an issue for their range. My mom was harshly discriminated against by Beth when my mom was only there to learn how to protect herself. My mom is still eager to learn however I know my mom felt humiliated and embarrassed by this encounter from Beth and I will never take her back here. read more

I have to say, I've been here and bought many things from what's always been a friendly staff. They sold me my M&P Shield, they let me test it out on their range for free before I purchased! Ive found more selection of accessories at this place than anywhere else. They have silencers to rent. . . many guns. Great shop! read more

The first time I went, about 2 years ago, I didn't enjoy myself. I pawned it off as too much ego in the place, it wasn't female friendly and decided I wouldn't come back. This weekend I really wanted to shoot and didn't have time to drive across town. I went in and was treated very well. I bought some items that required paperwork 1st of all it took me 6 weeks to have them do my fingerprints when i told them i could just go to BCI but every time i went in Brett was never there and when he was there they didn't have fingerprint cards then something happened to my paperwork now its a year and a half later and i still don't have my stuff in. Come to find out they lost my paperwork. Dude im pissed off i will never buy from these people ever again! read more

This place is terrible I bought a gun from them and they told me a week for delivery. After a week I started calling them if it came in no luck. I went into the store just to check in they had my wrong phone number but still no gun. Finally after three weeks of waiting I called very upset so they checked my order sheet and then the vault ended up having the gun for a week and a half. Just saying if you spend the money they should be more aware of their customers how do you lose a gun. I will not be returning bad way to run a business. read more

Was in today to buy my husband a rifle and shotgun for Father's Day. Brett was extremely helpful and their prices were great. We spent some time on the range and that was great too. This is out "go-to" place for everything to do with guns and ammo. read more

I came in from out of town looking to shoot some machine guns! I flew in on a Sunday and this was the ONLY range I could find that was open on a Sunday so this is where we ended up going. They have a ton of guns and goodies inside but it was really odd how dark it was in there. When I opened the door and entered I had to let my eyes adjust before I could see anything. I'm not too sure why they do this. Anyways, everyone there was really nice and helpful. I really wanted to shoot their MP5 that they had listed on their website but when we got there half the guns they had listed was down including the MP5. They had a great deal for 2 shooters, unlimited handgun rental and 100 rounds of 9mm with a lane for only $45, that's a no brainer if you're going with someone else. We did end up renting a P90 and an AK which were both full auto and all I can say is DAMN, what a waste of ammo but it was DEFINITELY worth it! read more

I've bought many guns from Get Some and haven't had issues with them in the past, back in the day when Mike Pappas worked there (Mike taught me everything I know about building my own AR-Type rifles). Recently, however, the service has just downright sucked! The employees offer no real insight when browsing or even purchasing a firearm, unless you want to buy a suppressor or an AR-type rifle. That's nothing compared to the guy that always wears the blue Get Some shirt (don't recall his name). He is the rudest, most crankiest d-bag in the world! Every time I have been in there and have had the unfortunate opportunity of dealing with him, I actually left there in a worse mood than arriving! I feel bad saying this, but I've been disparaged one too many times...I'll start going to Impact Guns instead, they have a million times better customer service. I just wish they had more stores in Salt Lake County. read more

On March 12 from bought a Kimber CDP II from Get Some Guns For 1200.00. They did price match Gallenson. I asked them if they had the Kel Tec PMR 30. They said no, but could put me on a waiting list for it, so I did. Get Some called me on April 10 and told me the Kel Tec came in. I told great I will come get it. Then I asked what the price is, they told me 599.99. I told them that I pay MSRP from Kel Tec of $415.00 not $200 more. They could care less. Any other gun store will sell this gun for $379-$399. If you want to get ripped off go to Get Some Guns and Ammo. Their Customer Service is always Terrible. I will never buy a gun from Get Some Guns and Ammo!!! read more

These guys are great. Very knowledgeable and eager to help when I needed it. My new Sig P238 was shooting tight groupings to the left of center. Their expert (he asked to remain nameless) took time to shoot several rounds through it and then mechanically adjusted the rear sights for me...FOR FREE...even though I purchased the gun elsewhere. only place in town that I feel comfortable taking my wife and daughters. staff is busy but friendly. range is well lit and clean. they always seem to have time to answer questions or simply help a little kid to make them comfortable. thanks guys UPDATE: I have been saving for a CCW for a little while. I had my mind set on a couple of choices. Art pulled all 3 off the shelf and a couple others for me to touch and see what felt best in my hand. he spent more time with me, than he probably should have. answering all of my questions, listening to my concerns. He knew my budget, and helped me make a very good decision. The store was crowded like it usually is on a Sat, but he was so patient, wanting to make sure I was comfortable with my purchase. Best gun range in Utah no doubt! I have bought almost every one of my guns there and several NFA items and took my concealed firearm course there. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They know everything there is to know about guns ammo and safety. I have been coming for about 6 years now and the staff still knows me by name and has offered me many great deals and advice. This is my first indoor range. I have not found any reason to not go there. I've taken my 9yr olds and family members.

I have been a Get Some customer for many years. Their have some of the best prices on firearms in the valley. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They always answer my questions, give me their opinion on something if I ask for it, and I've never felt pressured to buy a particular firearm from them. They have a good selection of weapons and accessories and if they don't have something, they can usually get it in stock pretty quickly. Sometimes the store and the range get really busy but they still try really hard to make sure that everyone gets the service that they are looking for. Overall, Get Some Guns is a great gun store, with great employees and I will remain a customer of theirs. read more

One of the best places for a wide range of guns to buy from pistols to ar15 to shotguns to 22lr I've been buying all my guns here for a couple years and shooting on my lunch breaks it's a good all around place that answers all my questions and finds parts for gun builds that makes my life 10 times easier and there customer service is unbeatable I know if my wife swings by to buy or have a question answered she always leaves getting what she was there and there is no egos involved !! read more

.All I can say is that, due to some shipping issues and stocking issues a credit was needed on a purchase. It was handled as best as possible given the confusion surrounding all of the causes and conditions of the situation. Bottom line it was handled. My family has purchased many fire arms here as well as taken CFP classes all with no complaints. everyone there has never been anything but nice and informative, going out of there way to answer any questions ( no matter how inexperienced you are about a firearms subject), they never make you feel stupid. Basically, " there is never anything you don't know about firearms, only things that you haven't learned yet" and that's about it. yes, there are other places in town that may be a better fit for you, but decide for yourself. read more

The following is my personal opinion. The "Get Some Guns and Ammo" in Murray is the most likely the worst gun store in the state of Utah. Please keep in mind I only think this about the Murray location. The other Get Some locations I've been too have been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and treated me like customer. The biggest problem with the Murray location is the employees. The older employees treat customers like they are wasting their time, while the younger reps are wonderful to work with. When I ask a question to one of the older reps, even a simple one, I normally get brushed off with a quick, and sometimes even rude answer. This happened almost every time I went into this location, and I've been going there for over 2 years. When I work with a younger rep the exact opposite happens, they willing to help me out, are very friendly, and have me on my way quickly, feeling like they should train the older reps on how to talk to a customer. I only live a few miles from the Murray locate, and went there when I needed ammo. If I ever needed to buy a fire arm that only Get Some carried (this has happened 3 times) I would drive the extra 30 miles to the Orem location just to avoid the risk of getting stuck with one of the reps at the Murray location who made it overwhelmingly obvious I wasn't worth their time. I can understand working at a gun store if you love guns, but I can't understand working at any store if you hate customers. read more

I have become a regular at Get Some Guns & Ammo over the last year to the point several of their employees know me by name and are always friendly and willing to help me, regardless of my ignorance and dumb questions that I bombard them with. They always help me and are friendly regardless if I buy anything which shows they care about their customers which is rare. A lot of people do not know, but they also price match which is convenient. Overall, I like them and will continue to go there until I'm treated poorly, which I do not see happening. I would classify my rating as a negative one star, get some guns in murray are very dissrespectful and have an elitist attitudes towards less experienced gun owner or buyers. I have purchased firearms through then because of decent pricing. But the guns i have bought are the final ones i would ever purchase, even if they were giving them away, due to the dissrespect and lack of customer service and caring for the customers. if you walk in be prepared to be ignored if your an average joe. If your a muscle head asshole GI joe or swat guy then they will be at your beck and call or if your gonna buy a large ammount of outragiously priced ammo. i have visited this store many time and have been ignored on mutiple occasions, sorry to say i had nine hundred to drop on a gun but dissrespect lost the sell. check your egoes at the door "get some". read more

Went there to today with my husband and son. I walked into the range and walked out within 3 minutes and sat waiting in the store for them to finish. The unfriendly counterperson charged us $3.00 for an observation fee; and that was after paying $82.00 for bullets. That will be the last time we buy from them. Next time will purchase bullet from Gallenson's. That $3.00 fee will cost them in the long run and perhaps learn to treat patrons better. On a positive note, did take a gun safety class from John which was very imformative and would recommend. read more

Today was my first time visiting a Get Some Guns and Ammo, it was also my last. It was without a doubt the worst shooting experience of my life. The guy they had working the shooting range counter was a massive tool and seemed like he was roid-raging the whole time. Before I could tell him what I wanted, he said "you know we close in 40 min." I went in a group of five and although the range was not very busy at the time, we were crammed into two booths. He instructed us to pay after the shooting, which is different from other shooting ranges but I thought nothing of it. After we finished shooting, another guy began ringing us up. This guy wasn't unfriendly but he made up for it by being incompetent. He couldn't figure out how to charge each of us the range fees so i had him just add up whatever mess he was trying to charge me and divide it by five. I paid my part (not sure if it was fair or not) and stepped to the side. At this time i was already annoyed that they weren't organized enough to figure out how much it cost. Then to add insult to injury the tool came to the counter and started making it worse. He couldn't keep anything straight and kept coming back to me saying i still had to pay more. Additionally he hounded the other four people to pay over what we had been informed the range fees were. As we all tried to help him sort out his mess his roid-rage kicked in again and he said "can't one of you guys just pay this and then you figure this out on your own time." I think my jaw dropped when i heard that. How dare I expect him to do his job? I mean it's not like i overpaid to use his range... Oh wait, actually I did. I will be avoiding this place. Go to Doug's Shoot'N'Sports on redwood road instead. It's cheaper and the staff is extremely friendly. I've been going there for years and I have never had a problem like this. The ammunition was also more expensive here then other places (specifically Sportsman's Warehouse around the block and Scheels). The interior is slightly more modern than Doug's but not enough to make a difference. Doug's also offers more space. read more

They also wanted to charge me a restocking fee to switch my money I had put down on another gun for a Glock, I have been waiting over 4 months for them to get one in (a restocking fee on a gun that they don't have and potentially will never get!).
