Although I showed up a little late (boo traffic), I was checked in promptly and began the exam with nearly 0 wait time. I saw Dr. Gogel (spelling might be wrong) for the first time. I was anxious because I've been seeing Dr. Olund for a few years and was unsure what to expect. Dr. Gogel is a ROCKSTAR. She absolutely crushes it! She is super friendly, super kind, and explains everything. She took the time to review my medical history before my appointment and did not need me to explain a lifetime of vision problems. You can't go wrong here. The staff is amazing. They truly care about the experience their patients have and strive to achieve greatness in the service they provide. I cannot recommend Focus Eyecare Center enough. I shopped for optometrists for about 10 years before meeting Dr. Olund. I vividly remember my first appointment with her. When I moved out of Southern Indiana I was extremely concerned about my eye care. I truly believe no one is better so I make the commute (only from Louisville, but it's across state lines lol). I waited 6 months to see Dr Hall and find out my cataracts had progressed to the point that my vision was being significantly affected and they needed to be removed. Seriously, I was having significant difficulty seeing. Dr Hall is excellent and I trust her completely. She referred me to the eye Surgeon Dr. Pugh and who took his time examining my eyes and explaining everything to me. I had the cataracts removed from both eyes. I'm about 2 weeks past the surgeries and my vision is excellent. Pain control and sedation were excellent. I highly recommend this practice. There have been several complaints about how long the wait is when you are in the office. I really haven't experienced that. The main thing I wanted was my vision to be improved and it is. My experience at Spring Family Dental was extremely disappointing…read more The office struggles to keep dental assistants, and that creates larger issues throughout the practice. Many responsibilities are not consistently completed because temporary assistants can only do so much while actively caring for patients. Office management is not stepping in to cover those responsibilities, and the doctors are focused on treating patients. not only that but I have yet to get my last check with no communication from HR or the office. One of the most concerning things I observed was the sterilization logs. According to the records I reviewed while working there, instrument sterilization and maintenance procedures had not been properly completed for approximately two months. That is unacceptable in any dental office. What frustrated me most was the double standard. Office management was frequently late and missed numerous days, yet remained employed without consequences. Meanwhile, dental assistants who were only a few minutes late even after regularly arriving early and working hard for the office faced disciplinary action or termination. There is nothing wrong with having rules, structure, and accountability. Every workplace should have them. The problem is when those standards only apply to certain employees. When management is held to one standard and everyone else is held to another, it stops feeling like a professional workplace. Between the staffing issues, payment problems, lack of accountability, and overall management, this office felt more like a circus than a professional business. That is all I have to say.

They all work very hard to accommodate patients especially when you are in pain or have an emergency situation. Dentistry can be painful and it can often be expensive which is why I value my doctor and his staff. They soften both blows with their helpfulness and warmth. I've been going to the eye doctor for over 15 years so I have a pretty good idea of how an appointment should run. I first go to do the basic eye testing (little house on prairie machine...pics of the eyes etc.) the doctors assistant running my tests had no idea what she was doing. She didn't tell me to take my contacts out and when I said something she just handed me a contact case and some empty contact solution bottle. No sink, no form of sanitation, no mirror, NOTHING. When I saw actual optometrist everything was fine...but the check out process was a NIGHTMARE. No one in the office knew how to run insurance, they forgot my credit card in the back room twice, they did t know how to give me a receipt, and this entire process took over an hour! I paid for my contacts but have yet to receive anything and it's been over a MONTH. The lady that does the billing is never in the office because everytime I've tried to call to check on the status of my contacts she's never there!! And she never calls me back! I just want my contacts. I hope they see this and finally get back to me. Last time I called was today at 1:30 and the voicemail box said they were "on lunch"??? Ridiculous.
