I have gone to this VisionFirst for several years. I used to see Dr. Reynolds, however she has left VisionFirst to open her own separate office (Reynolds Family Eye Care). She's absolutely amazing & I highly recommend her. I chose to continue to go to VisionFirst because I don't have an major eye issues and just needed an updated RX to order new contact & lenses. I called on a Thursday & was able to get an appointment for an eye exam for the following Tuesday. Parking is super convenient. They now have a mobile check-in kiosk which is nice but takes away from the connection with the ladies behind the desk. I saw Dr. Wilder for the first time & he was great! If you need contacts or frames/lenses, I highly recommend Neal. He is an optician & he is absolutely amazing. His energy is great & he is the best. read more

Professional eye exams, a wide selection of frames, lots of options on lens features, and setting up an appointment was easy. VisionFirst works with most local vision insurers and lay out your options on your first visit. There are a couple of add-ons like the eye scan thing that I opted for rather than the dilation exam because it checks for early signs of glaucoma and I hadn't been to an eye doctor in, like, eight years. The full exam results were thoroughly explained to me by Dr. Braaten, who was personable and straightforward. I ended up not needing any glasses because I have the eyes of a polar eagle, but my wife was able to easily swap out the lenses of her existing frames and get a second pair for a good price. If you have any eye needs, I highly recommend going to Vision First on Charlestown Road. The staff was beyond friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and was directed to the best person to help for my needs. The representatives, there, are beyond professional, caring, and helpful. If you are going to have to spend a decent amount of money on glasses/contacts/eye-wear, go to this location. The salesperson who helped me was so kind and made me feel like a truly valued customer. What has happened to customer service? How did we get to this place in America? I TRIED to make a simple appointment for an eye exam. I gave the scheduler my name and asked what they had available for appointments. She then asked for my birthdate, which I provided. I then volunteered that I do not have vision insurance and would be paying cash. She started asking more personal questions I refused to answer. I explained I do not give out my personal information until I determine IF I will be doing business with them. I asked when she could get me in. She would not provide any appointment options unless I divulged all my personal info. Really? They passed up a cash paying customer because I would not give them personal information before I even knew if I would be doing business with them! How absurd. It could have been so simple. She could have told me what was available, if she had something that would work for me I would have booked it, then I would have given her my info! Apt exam started with assistant. She states she is going to take photos of the eyes for the medical records but the dr. will read from dilation of eyes using drops since I chose not to pay for the photos. The information will be in the photos but dr. will not read those. If I want the dr. to read the photos rather than using drops to dilate my eyes and have the dr. look directly into my eyes instead of the photos costs $43. This is ridiculous. The same medical information is in the photos but I have to pay to have those read by the dr.??? this BS. I left the offices. All they care about is money and I took control of my finances rather than letting them dictate what they will charge me for. Medical information in the photos could have been viewed by the dr. without having to dilate my eyes. The assistant stated the photos will me in my medical records but dr. will not read them yet they will bother to dilate my eyes and dr. will read my "eyes" post dilation. Dilation costs nothing yet dr. will read the results. No concern shown for saving the patient time and discomfort of dilation when the same info is in the photos. Don't fall for this. If photos contain same medical information as dr. "reading" my dilated eyes which is at no charge then the photos should be no charge. Holding Medical Information for RANSOM is what VisionFirst is doing! read more

Dr. Humphrey was great with the exam & explaining my options about cataract exam. Mary & Angela were great about explaining my benefits which I didn't know I had!
