Over the winter I went on two rounds of prednisone which quickly worsened my cataracts and made it necessary for me to have surgery. Dr. Britt Brockman came highly recommended and I chose to have laser surgery for my cataracts at John-Kenyon. I've had one eye corrected at this time and no complaints at all. I called for an appointment for my daughter to have her eyes examined. She has something going on with them - red, itchy - and has been ongoing for two weeks. I was told that if she doesn't have a diagnoses of cataracts or something surgical they don't see people for regular eye exams. I did not appreciate the receptionist's condescending tone as if I did not understand the difference between a medical doctor and an optometrist. She explained to me several times that John Kenyon is a medical facility and not an optician. I told her my daughter does not wear glasses. If you do t have something surgical where they can make a lot of money off you - don't bother trying to get an appointment. read more

We have had the most horrible experience having lasik surgery done took my 82 yrs mother to have this done her first appointment went great eye some wonderful go back few weeks later and the second eye was horrible the experience the pain that she endured was devistating to say the least we call to tell them what has happened and all they the dr is that they did everything right and how it was a beautiful surgery after I tried telling him that they never gave any meds to my mom in the iv and he said they gave her more than enough besides the pressure he had on her head she felt it burning the whole time surning surgery and she told them as they were doing it and they continued surgery no one acted like they did in first surgery even my mom I knew something was wrong I told him I could take her to hospital and have a test to show what they did or did not give her in the iv giving him time to say ok maybe something went wrong or someone didn't do their job but nope and we have waited and went to reg eye dr 3 times and her eye is still no better so now we will let the experts decide who's at fault since they can't admit any wrong doings but a test can back our statment I would never ever take anyone there they just want to take your money they don't care about their patients act like we are lying she has had 7 kids she knows when things are good and when they are not they better be glad she is not a sueing person and don't want nothing from them or we would own that place and they Didnt even wash the stuff off her face or around her eye I had to do that when we left !!!!! I was treated by Dr. Howard Lazerus at American Eye Institute for a detached retina. He performed a vitrectomy surgery on my left eye and he left me blind in that eye. He would never acknowledge it. I got a second opinion and found out that during the surgery there was a loss of blood flow to my optic nerve and it suffered permanent damage. I will never see in my eye again because of Dr. Lazerus. Regretably, I was not able to prove it was malpractice. If you have a retina problem please do not go to this doctor. read more
