The people that sell you the glasses are nothing but salesmen. They tell you what you want to hear. They tell you, to get scratch resistant lenses, and if you have any issues to just bring them back and they will repair or replace them within a year. I bought them in September, in November we need a lens replaced because it was scratched. Was told there is no warranty, even though we paid extra for this lens that was scratch resistant and was supposed to be replaced within a year. This is not the first time they have told us! Vision Works you know you are wrong, get your Sales people in check and stop being crooks. We have a family of 5 that spend a lot of money there, you lost my business, we will not return. read more

Last month I had an eye exam scheduled for a Saturday so, as expected, Visionworks was very busy and my appt. time ran late, but the staff was professional and friendly. Dr. Brumit was the most competent optometrist I'd ever been seen. He was thorough, understanding and took the time to provide explanations. Both of my glasses were ready, and correct, within the indicated time frame. The associate was kind enough to let me take only one pair initially to see how I liked the new prescription (which I do so I'll be picking up the other pair next week). The eyeglass selection at Visionworks was good and they had no trouble adjusting for my insurance. read more

This was my second time visiting this Visionworks, and I have to say I was rather disappointed in my experience. The front desk employees were wonderful and kind, as were the two women who completed my pre-screening. It was more so the doctor I saw that I was disappointed in. He didn't examine my eyes at all, and only used the machine to find the correct prescription for me. Maybe best practice has changed, but I was shocked. He also seemed confused about why I came in, when I came in for a routine (and recommended) yearly exam. The woman who performed my contact fitting (gave me a pair, didn't have me try them on) was rather pushy about purchasing glasses/contacts there, even though I repeatedly told her I only needed a copy of my prescription (because it hadn't change, so therefore I didn't need new glasses). Not sure if I will return given that I feel like my exam wasn't thorough. read more

This is not my usual visionworks location, but my glasses were in dire need of adjustments (they were killing me!) ! I work long hours and it's hard to get to one of the offices before they close. I happened to be in the area yesterday and stopped in to the State St. location. Amber Hall performed the adjustments AND took my lenses out to clean inside the frames. I have had some great service from Visionworks over the years but recently, I feel like they went over and above. The doctor there was just simply the nicest. I really appreciated his kindness and attention. Also Amber helped me with fitting my glasses and insurance. I thought she was very professional and clearly knew what she was doing. I've been to a couple of visionworks locations, in Louisville and Paducah and those were ok, but this one in new albany went above and beyond! The girl administering and registering me was so friendly and fun, and so was amber, the girl that helped me pick out glasses. She looked at three options to determine which payment would be cheaper for me, and that was so appreciated. In addition, she was so patient with making sure that I found the right pair of glasses. No pressure was placed on me at all! I ended up getting a pair of glasses and sunglasses because of it, and every pair she handed me ended up being my favorite and what I ended up walking out with! I should also mention that the Dr was extremely knowledgeable and kind as well. I strongly recommend this visionworks location as it reminds me of how I was treated at my optometrist back home. The staff does all of the prerequisite testing before you see the doctor. There's the machine that has the moving dot and the machine that blows air into your eye that freaks you the fuck out every time even though you know it's coming. There's this nifty machine that will take deep space photographs of the inside of your eyeball thus eliminating the need for dilation. It takes a few minutes to get right because your eye has to be in *just* the right position to get usable pictures. No one tells you that your insurance doesn't cover this awesome newfangled test until *after* they've done it and they present you with a bill in hopes that you'll feel somehow obligated to pay for it. It's $30 so if you have enough guilt in your bank to cover that, maybe go ahead and buy it. Or you could do what I did and get all pissy about it and get dilated so you can get those really cool disposable sunglasses. The doctor was a smallish man who talked to me like I was Forrest Gump's slow third cousin. His slow sing-songy tone was likely intended to put me at ease. It was creepy and irritating. He was nice enough, I suppose, and he managed to get the prescription right so if you can handle being talked to like you just got harpooned with Thorazine, have at it. The optical technicians were great at being completely invisible until I had questions and promptly provided adequate information regarding what was and wasn't covered under my plan and then left me alone to decide on the frame. I selected something from the clearance display because I'm a frugal bitch and wanted to get the most bang for my optical buck. Unfortunately, less than a week later, the damn things came apart and I haven't been in the area to take them in to get repaired so I'm still wearing my cheap ass, lopsided, made-in-China mail order glasses. read more

This eye appointement was one of the best eye visits I have ever had. The optometrist was very easy going, and easy to talk to when it came to my eye care concerns. The staff were friendly and eager to assist you with any of your eye care needs. They also tried to make the appointment as affordable as possible giving me the biggest discount they had at the time, very generous I might add. I ended up not having much of a change to my eye sight but learned why some of my concerns about my eyes could be easily fixed. I have been a customer for many years and have never had issues with customer service before. My daughter needed a repair on her frames, so I took her today when i got of from working my 3rd shift job. They were quick to sign us in and I had begun browsing the frames section knowing in just a few months I would need an eye exam and new glasses myself. I picked up a pair of frames and tried them on all the while feeling the burning of eyeballs staring at me with aggrevated intent. This nasty woman was helping two ladies all the while anticipating scolding me like a child for touching them. She jumped up out of her chair away from her customers to say "ehh! Dont put those back on the wall! They go here to be sanitized!" then began to question me if i was checked in properly. She sat down and apologized to the ladies for the interruption!! Rude does not begin to explain her behavior. I am a customer as well, and a great one at that. I was mortified! I almoat lost it on this woman, and atill questioning wether I qill return. This woman could have handled this situation totally different and with a bit more respect. read more

We are so happy to be patients at Visionworks! I take all 4 of my kiddos (11, 9, 7, & 2) here. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The facility is clean and organized. Dr. Cora is wonderful with kids and really takes time to make sure parents understand everything. I got new glasses from Visionworks and had them for a little over a year when I noticed what appeared to be "crazing" developing all over the lenses. This "crazing" appears as tiny, almost invisible cracks or etching which causes light to refract similar to a prism making it difficult to focus on close objects. When I went back to Visionworks regarding the problem, I was told they had never experienced this problem before, had no idea what might have caused it and since it had been over a year since I had purchased them, there was nothing they could do about it. Sorry for your luck. I feel as though these glasses are having a worsening effect on my vision so I am taking my business elsewhere. read more
