If I could give them zero stars I would. I have requested the account to be closed since Jan. 5, 2026 due to the sale of the business. A cancellation form was sent to the inside account representative, per their request. However, I have been billed every month since then. I have called every time I have received a bill and have been told the account will be credited and closed. Yet, here again it is April 2026 and I have received another bill - now showing a past due amount. I have sent them a message stating that if their company is not capable of handling this over the phone, I will be more than happy to come to their office located on Antioch Church Rd in Piedmont, SC and discuss their inability to close an account after REPEATED requests. read more

After they allegedly rescheduled my can delivery twice now (never told me about it), I called today and found out supposedly it'll be Friday before they come. They frequently miss pick up dates, so much so, that after 2 trips to the dump this month because of no service, we cancelled. Then we found that because we pay in advance, there are no refunds. All the reviews are spot on. After 4 weeks of calls and a many broken promises they picked up once out of 4. They lie they will be out the next day. One time the person came, I saw him, and he didn't pick up the trash. Now its your employee who is the problem and no-one wants to correct the problem. I had them for a few years. For some reason in July to August they missed my house 7 weeks out of 8. I had to make repeated calls, and they would come back about 3 days later. I was told the reason was a new person was working in the neighborhood. Then I was told there are 2 different routes in my neighborhood, and the person across the street was on a different route! I went on the web page 3 times and requested a call back from a manager. I asked 4 times on the phone for a manager to call. I never received a call back. I finally had to stop their service when they refused to pick up my garbage and told me to wait till next week. I was NEVER offered a discount/refund for all the missed service. I has now been over 1 month, and I still do not have my refund check, they make you prepay quarterly. I have called 3 times for my check, and I am told management is aware and approved of it, so it should be here this week. If I do not get the check by tomorrow, I will have to complain to consumer affairs. This company is just terrible, their only job is to drive to my house and get my garbage, they literally pick up garbage across the street! Absolute crooks! Every 3 months there would be a price increase. This service costs $70.00 more every 3 months than the new service I went with. Even after I canceled their service, they took $110.00 from my banking account unauthorized. That happened on January 18, 2025 and I still don't have a refund. Every time I call, I'm told it can take 10-12 weeks. It has been 4 1/2 months and they still won't give me my refund. DO NOT use them. I'm disappointed in the service that I DIDN'T receive. We were advised that services wouldn't be delayed due to the holiday, so we took out trash to the curb Sunday night since our normal pickup day is Monday. As of Tuesday afternoon, our trash still has not been picked up. When I called to find out what happened, they claimed that the trash wasn't out there. My ring camera shows that the trash was there and no trucks came down my street. The only resolution offered was a $9 credit for one weeks service and that they would pick up any bags around the cans. Used this service since it was Waste Industries years ago. Recently, they have missed 3 pick ups and having to take the trash off myself. I am paying for service that is not being provided and see fewer cans on our street. Pricing has continued to increase and is over $100 a quarter while others are $75. I would reconsider before choosing this company as a service provider. read more

This company falsified records of the services they provided to my address. I haven't put the trashcan by the road since April because I haven't been at the home full time. The drivers have marked that they provided service all the way up until 2 weeks ago when the company reps said they marked that the can wasn't out. When I spoke on the phone with a local branch a lady said "when you don't pay a bill, we stop providing a service ". By that logic the company stopped providing a service on june 1st. In actuality they haven't provided service since April. Yet, they sent me to collections in July for services June 1- Aug 30th. Furthermore, I am not in a contract w/ them like I am, say with my cell phone provider. If I don't have a contractual agreement for recurrent services to be provided beyond what I've prepaid for, it seems unethical to send me to a collections agency. Why wouldn't you just come pick up your trashcan? Since you're supposedly driving past my house and stopping at my driveway every week, there was ample opportunity to pick up the trashcan when you stopped providing service. Beyond the contradictory nature of the staff's statements, their skills in conflict management need training and improvement ASAP. I can't be too upset with the lady's poor skill set. I'm sure the company culture breeds that type of attitude since her manager was standing right there according to the staff and never intervened in the call. I know what the records says. The drivers reported they provided me a service. It is untrue. I'm requesting the company cancel this bill as there are much better ways to handle a stop-service. Don't get paid? Don't provide a service and pick up the trashcan. If I still needed the service, charge a trashcan-redelivery fee, just like cellphone companies do when you have to pay a reconnection fee. read more

I called today to ask a question and the lady was rude and snippy with me. I usually have my can out the night before but when I forget to do that my wife will have it out by 7 am because our driver doesn't show up until around 9-10 am. The customer service is usually good until today. read more

We used GFL for about a year and had no problems. But then, at the start of the new year, we did not realize that our automatic payments had been messed untill we discovered we no longer had a dumpster one morning. We were not notified of any issues and found customer support (Tanya and Tracey) to be quite unhelpful and at some points even rude. I do not trust that this won't happen again so we have decided to look at other options rather than get blind sided by extra fees and a large inconvenience of having trash pile up. read more

We just purchased our home and decided to use the same curb side trash pick-up as the previous home owners. The previous home owners left their dumpster and GFL provided us with a new one. A new blue dumpster. Filled it up and put both dumpsters out on trash day. They did not dump our trash. I was given assurance that they had made a mistake and credited our account. They scheduled the next Monday to pick up old dumpster and empty ours. They removed the old dumpster and left the other. I have trash in this dumpster for 2 weeks. The office lady said that this was a recyclable container, (same color as regular dumpster) . To make a long story short...she would not send anyone out to pick up my trash so we decided to cancel service. Not the best customer service that I have ever seem. read more

do not use GFL Environmental for trash pick up. they are a joke. they increase prices without notice. I cancelled my service on November 15th but was told they would still pick up until my services ran out on the 29th. they have not picked up trash or their cans for over 2 months. I call every week and they tell me they have been picked up .. that's funny because they are still in my driveway. trash that is over 2 months old. and if you ask for a manager, you are not allow to speak to them. the truck passes my house every week so its not out of their way. read more

We are paid up thru July, but just logged into the account , and it says service has been cancelled, without an explanation.
