Our visit to Ghost Block Estate Wines was easily one of the standout stops on our Napa wine tour. We unfortunately can't remember the name of our host, but he was incredible and extremely knowledgeable, not just about the wines, but about the family behind the winery and its history. You could tell he had a genuine passion for what he was sharing, which made the tasting feel much more personal and engaging. What made it even more special was learning that he was born and raised in the area, just like his parents. That local connection added an authentic touch you don't always get, and it made the whole experience feel more rooted. The wines themselves were fantastic and took two bottles home to remember the experience. If you're planning a Napa trip, Ghost Block is worth a stop. We scored when we walked in (they do require reservations so, do that!) Louie was so friendly and his knowledge of the winery and area is vast. Not only did we enjoy the tasting experience, the vibe is so chill and the family lore is truly a reflection of the growth in Napa since the early 1900's. Loved learning about the Oakville Cabernet grapes and the differences in the other cab grape in the area. Purchased a couple bottle and look forward to enjoying them at home. Will be back!! read more

Ghost Block Winery is a family owned, local, farmer based winery that has such original charm, great hospitality, and very delicious wine! Very happy to know I can purchase the Elizabeth Rose blend at my local Whole Foods to enjoy with grilled chicken or pasta. The vibe is relaxed, rustic California farm with very personable hosts. Say hello to JACOBY, the adorable Pomeranian that makes an appearance every now and then while you enjoy your pours of white and red wine varieties. read more

We had a good time at Ghost Block and tried several of their wines. Ghost Block was Day 1, Winery 2 so we were still pretty fresh and ready to go. We met Tracy our hostess and she gave us a glass of a white wine while she was getting our table ready. We tasted 3 of their expressions while there. Ghost Block owns several different vineyards with many different terriors and appellations across the Valley and we tried 3 of their more popular ones. We had a good time and enjoyed the wines. There was no pressure to buy (our tasting included a bottle of each of the wines we tried) and they were happy to ship them to us. Having never heard of this winery before we were pleasantly surprised and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who's in the area and looking to add a solid winery to their trip. read more

Wonderful stop on 29! Rather small place but great selection of wine. One family owns three labels and each with a different winemaker. Very unique tasting experience with Cecilia? who not only was so enjoyable to speak with but also a wealth of information about the winery, the grapes and the area. We arrived before our scheduled tasting and were accommodated. Be sure to check out their wines. Sure to please because of their selection and so reasonably priced. read more

Their recently renovated tasting room is invitingly intimate, bright, modern & eclectic. It shows its roots in style. From the significance of the blue barn doors, to the popping water bottles and mysteriously jumping mini pumpkins, and the friendly staff, this was definitely a memorable experience! Thanks to Louis, who was our host, we not only tasted wine, we had it with a side of Yountville history. I just had to ask the significance of the name. The Ghost Block name was inspired by the Ghost Block Single Vineyard which overlooks the 165 year old George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery at the north end of Yountville. First time in Oakville, and visited Ghost Block Winery! Harry was our host and he provided my family and I with such an intimate and educational experience! He explained each wine in an understandable way, with both passion and humor! The best customer service I've ever experienced at a winery. We were able to try a variety of wines, and they all tasted delicious. My favorite was their Zinfandel (tannin, but still an easy sip from the sweetness of the grapes). If I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely have to pay a visit again! read more

Luis the sommelier was our host when our tour group visited and he was awesome answering our questions and guiding us through our tasting. We also spent some time outside next to the production areas talking about how the wine is made and how their company also produces wine for some other brands. The tasting room is old and quaint and Luis did an outstanding job explaining in layman's terms what we were tasting. Excellent experience, and oh yeah the wine is pretty damn good, too! read more

Had some time after lunch (Oakville grocery) while waiting for our Darioush tasting. Friends had enjoyed their wine before and suggested a tasting. We walked in and they had an opening, reservations are required/suggested. The tasting room was beautiful with reclaimed wood and amazing light fixtures made from tractor tires and post hole shovels (two different fixtures). Our hostess was very friendly and well informed. The price points are incredilble. The juice is very drinkable. Highly recommended Slainte read more

This is one of our must go to wineries. We've moved to Napa and all our friends and family ask...."if we can only go to a few wineries, where should we go?" Ghost Block is in the top of the bunch. Like the wine but girl that answers phone is always borderline rude and uninviting - to the point today was going to stop in and buy a case of Cab and a case of Zin as running low and literally the call made us change mind and go to Plumpjack and pick up some Cade instead. I think it's important for wineries to understand there is a customer service aspect to people spending money on wine - if your people are arrogant you are going to lose clients as we will probably not be back even though we like the wine. read more

We had the most incredible tasting and client care from Luis and Louie (spelling? So sorry if it's incorrect!!) today at our tasting Ghost block. We've been members for a year now after a long time of being fans of the wine and every time we're blow away at the personalization of the tasting and incredible people they employee. Luis led the most wonderful tasting with incredible conversation and empathy as we, in wine tasting elevated emotions, poured out more of life story than anyone who just met us today needs to know. It felt like sharing wine with a good friend. He was personal, conversationalist, and we shared stories and restaurant/winery recommendations for nearly 2 hours. At the end of our tasting, with conversation of local wines, Louie blew us away with his customer service. These incredible men and employees; make sure you keep them! This is a small tasting room in Napa Valley that is still a family run business. They have done a great job giving the room a modern country feel. The hospitality was outstanding and our server did a terrific job telling the story of the family, the wines and the business. The wines were fantastic. I highly recommend a visit here! read more

So happy I made a reservation here. We were looking for a winery with good Zinfandel and good price point. So many wineries have put profit over experience. We want to have interaction with our host and oh my Christian more than delivered!! We enjoyed every wine we tasted. We decided to drop one of our favorite wineries and sign up here. My husband and I spent 5 days exploring wineries in Sonoma and Napa County. We explored almost 20 wineries during our entire stay. One of the most memorable overall experiences, hands down, was our time spent at Ghost Block and their wonderful staff. We were received with a warm and genuine welcome from Karri. Karri guided us throughout our tasting experience. She was truly knowledgeable and took the time to sit with us not only to explain the wines but also to share with us the origin of Ghost Block, the family history and other fascinating facts about the winery. In addition to offering the wine tasting menu, Karri took the time to learn about our individual preferences to customize our tasting experience. Not only did Karri educate us on the process behind the varietals, she added her own personal touches which made the visit far more unique in comparison to other experiences we have had. It was refreshing to learn about wines in a conversation that did not seem rehearsed. We have been to wineries in Napa, Sonoma and the central coast several times. My husband and I had never experienced a tasting flight where we truly enjoyed each and every offering, until we visited Ghost Block. Louie is hands down the best host. He welcomed us and treated us like old friends. He educated us about the local wineries and treated us to some really amazing wines. This place was probably one of may favorites, small and intentional. The history telling by our server was unreal. Fun, knowledgeable, and exiting. I would definitely come back just for the service, they were all so friendly and were able to take us in when everything was booked. We did come a bit early for our reservation and the still served us with a great attitude. We definitely felt valued and applicated. The wines were very delicious and we walked away with the cabernet 2018 their top rated wine. read more

Was busy inside when we arrived for our reservation. Didn't have us in their books but we had our confirmation email. Was seated out front next to delivery gate so ambiance was poor. Brian was knowledgeable and friendly. The tasting included 7 tastings for $25 which gave us a variety of wines to sample. The last two tastings were the winners! I cycled up to the winery without previous knowledge of their wines. Brian spent almost an hour explaining the wines and pouring out tastes for me. It is wonderful to spend time with someone who is passionate about what they do. I bought ten bottles of wine; rose, zinfandel and cabarnet sauvignon. The winery is intimate, cozy and the staff is friendly and knowledgable about their products I highly recommend you visit and you will love the wines. read more

Established in 2006.

Since 1903, our family has harvested grapes in Napa Valley and supplied some of Napa Valley's most prestigious wineries with our fruit. In 2006, we launched our own brand, Ghost Block Estate Wines. Our finest fruit has been selected to produce exceptional and collectable Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each of our single vineyard wines are produced from our certified, organically grown vineyards.

Easy to find, beautiful from the road in, and exactly what you picture when you think Napa. The whites and reds are all worth trying. Each one tastes distinct, and the flagship bottles run $44 to $125, so not cheap, but fair for wines this good. Membership is the real draw. Members get full tastings plus a food menu for themselves and two guests, which we lean on every time we pick up wine. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of tables across the property, including quiet, secluded spots for a real conversation. The member experience runs about 1.5 hours, which is plenty. The food held up too. Tomato arancini with basil aioli, bruschetta, roasted olives, marcona almonds, hummus with crispy pita, sourdough with oil and balsamic. The arancini was the best bite of the spread, crisp outside, creamy in the middle, with the basil aioli pulling it together. Staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful on every visit. A few notes: tastings cap around 6 to 8 per party, specialty experiences like the Cambium vertical are discounted for members rather than free, and your membership carries over to their sister property, St. Francis in Sonoma. We ended up purchasing two wine bottles from our tasting selection - Cabernet Franc and Cambium. Major also gave special attention to our golden retriever, Rex, which made us happy. We love that this place is super dog friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful. Just a perfect setting for wine tasting. We will definitely come back here again!!

It's nestled between a bakery and other businesses, but once you're inside (or enjoying the peaceful outdoor patio), it's a private and beautiful location for a tasting or a drink. The servers were super friendly and helpful as we chose our wine, and made us feel very welcome even in our casual (sweaty!) state. We enjoyed resting outdoors and the wine was really good. Would love to return for a full tasting.
