Seth was remarkably patient and worked with me to meet my requests on every last detail (size, aspect ratio, position, ink). (Embarrassingly, I asked him if we could move the template we transferred onto my skin 5 times for one tattoo, having to wipe it away and reapply it. It would have driven basically anyone crazy, but Seth was laid-back and understanding throughout.) The price was also very reasonable. As others have mentioned the private studio was clean and seemed well organized. Honestly, vibe at the studio is not something I care about (I just want a great looking, safe tattoo), but it did have a nice feel. In my case, I wanted something very specific (and relatively simple), rather than something creative from the artist. I got exactly what I wanted, and it looks perfect. Since this was my first, Seth also explained every step of the process to me as we went. In terms of safety, I saw all his new, packaged needles. (One thing I didn't verify was how he sterilized any reusable parts. ...something you could do yourself if you're inclined.) I'll definitely return to Seth for any future tattoos.

I happened to go to Zita's Instagram page and saw another person's script tattoo and decided that if my daughter could deal with the pain of getting one, so could I. The business is very clean and they take the best precautions....I probably could have fell asleep, but my hubby came to hold my hand....in the end though, I really didn't need that because Zita really put me at ease with this being my first tattoo! After searching around, I came across Konkrete Jungle and specifically Alex as a professional piercer. I booked an appointment over the phone with clear instructions. During the appointment, my daughter and I arrived at the shop and were greeted by Alex at the front desk. She was professional and courteous, walking my daughter through the entire process from start to finish. She explained the options she had for initial earrings and why the stainless steel screw-on type were ideal for new piercings. Alex walked my daughter into her studio and talked her through each piercing patiently, answering any questions my curious daughter had. Because Alex uses needles rather than a piercing gun, it was different than what my daughter was accustomed to during her first piercing. In the end, there were absolutely no tears, unlike the painful experience at the chain jewelry store. Alex provided after-care instructions for the piercing and made sure she addressed all questions and concerns we had at the time. It took less time for that because of what I wanted. They give you aftercare instructions. Which is also explained to you. This was my first tattoo with colored ink. They share the space with the lower level. Which is a different business. The tattoo shop is on the upper level. However...there were a lot of red flags and things that I definitely think every person should be aware of before visiting this shop. I have had 20+ piercings in my life with variable experiences, this one being the second to worst experience for reasons listed below. There is a 25 dollar deposit charge PER PIERCING. This does not apply to the service itself or to the jewelry. It doesn't even hold your appointment! It's just an extra charge. I had originally only booked for two piercings online and had the extra 25 dollars tacked on at the end because I got three. The jewelry STARTS at 50...but that's surgical steel. If you have a nickel allergy, like me, and want to play it safe...prices for titanium jewelry START at 110 dollars PER PIECE. And that's for the tiny stuff! I was floored, but at this point, I was already in the door, had paid my silly little deposit that wasn't a deposit twice over, my kids were being watched, and I was ready to go. My ID was never taken. And the piercer HAD TO CHASE ME DOWN AFTER THE FACT to have me sign a form. I was in the elevator! The entire shop reeked of weed. I genuinely do not care about adults smoking weed on their own time...but I don't want to ever worry that my PIERCER is under the influence of anything, alcohol, weed, or whatever else. It's unprofessional. And this is coming from someone who has partaken plenty of times in the past. Also...the piercing jewelry was just rattling around in a box. Even if it was pre-sterilized then put in the box...it should be in a sealed autoclave baggy. Each piece should be stored separately...not rattling around in a box with a bunch of other pieces of jewelry! I honestly can't even remember if I saw an autoclave, but there very well may have been one present. I sure hope there was! Including tip, I paid 500+ for THREE PIERCINGS. Two flats and a tragus. Like, WHAT? I was absolutely disgusted and honestly felt scammed and disappointed by the entire experience. Thankfully the piercings themselves are good enough...but the rest of the experience is a no from me, dawg. Alternatively, I recently had two nostril piercings done at a tattoo and piercing shop in Laurel and paid 200 TOTAL, which included tip and upgraded titanium jewelry...in a shop that took my ID, had me fill out a health form, and had properly stored and sterilized jewelry. They were honestly fantastic and I plan to go there from now on. This shop needs to fix a lot--STARTING with sanitation and closely follow by the absolutely INSANE prices for jewelry and the pointless extra 25 per piercing charge. Having people leave your shop feeling scammed is not the way to do business. And in no universe should it cost 500+ for THREE PIERCINGS. Again, I've had 20+ piercings and never left feeling scammed. I would not recommend this place, unfortunately.
