Went on a whim because it's newly opened and really glad I did. The service was incredible and the prices are also very reasonable for all their dishes. I overheard that it's farm-to-table as well, and if that's the case then the prices are definitely great. We came at 5:30pm on a Wednesday and the place was already bustling. Patio is walk-ins only so definitely get there earlier than 5:30pm as we were the one of the last groups they squeezed in for the time being on the patio. We ordered the Ricotta + Honeycomb (toast), the Mushroom Sacchetti, and Stinger pizza. My favorite was definitely the Ricotta + Honeycomb small plate, the ricotta was so fluffy and paired really well with the honeycomb and toast. The mushroom sacchetti was really delicious and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. The server was also very accommodating and split the pasta between two separate plates before serving it for my friend and I to share the dish. The Stinger pizza was a bit spicier than I anticipated and I personally would have preferred a crispier crust/bottom, but a good pizza nonetheless. Definitely will be coming here again to try their other dishes again. One thing to note is that reservation is for indoors only. The place is very popular at the moment so I would recommend making one to make sure you get a table when you want it. read more

Absolutely love the inside of this restaurant. It's on old library built in the late 1800s that they've brought to the 21st century. Drinks were great, I had the spicy pear margarita. There wasn't much spice to it but it was delicious. We started with the Arancini and some sort of butternut squash tortellini, I don't think it was called tortellini but it was shaped that way. The filling was yummy. The arancini was light and just enough. We both had the balsamic grilled chicken salad as our entree, so good. I didn't want anything too heavy for lunch and a salad with grapes, nuts and strawberries isn't something I'd normally order but I'm glad I did, it was delightful. I feel that matter what there is "always something", good, bad or indifferent when you dine out. My always something for this was, the butternut squash tortellini was a bit doughy. Maybe it was suppose to be that way since it wasn't really a traditional tortellini I probably wouldn't order that again. This is a very popular downtown Naperville restaurant. Called for reservations and they only had 9:30 pm but told us Patti was first come first serve. We took our chances and got a table right away. The patio faces busy Washington Street, so it's not got much ambiance. The menu has a good selection of small plates, pasta and pizza. We had the Italian salad, roasted cauliflower and a pizza. The cauliflower and salad were both delicious. The salad had olives Anna cauliflower, greens and soppresetta. We shared the Hammaker pizza. It was wood fired and topped with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. The flavors were delicious. Our only complaint was the crust was crisp on the edges but soggy in the middle. I have been to the GM in St. Charles, and Wheaton. Love them both. Naperville has the new patio in the downtown area. Love their lunch specials, the indoor restaurant has high and low top seating. Stopped in tonight around 6:30 thinking it would not be busy, but there was a wait. It was our first time at a Gia's. We found seats at the bar. Really like the look of the restaurant. Started out with the calamari and the meatballs. The calamari was cooked perfectly. It was nice size strips lightly breaded and very tender. The meatballs are big and full of flavor. When then split the Rigatoni. Loved the pasta and it was also very delicious. Met Laura the GM. Saw her bringing out food and helping behind the bar. She was very active and speaking to many guests. I've gotten about 10 dishes at Gia Mia at this point, same for my girlfriend, and one thing is clear--they're all good (especially the hot honey pepperoni pizza!) I don't know that there's a better bang-for-your-buck upscale establishment in the entire Naperville/Aurora food scene and it definitely leaves you wanting to come back. It feels like fine dining, and the aesthetic matches, it just doesn't hurt the wallet quite as much. Service is good, can run slightly slow during peak hours with as packed as the place can get, but once you take a bite you immediately get why it is. read more

Excellent, 5 stars all around!! Decided to stop into Gia Mia after hearing much about it. Let me say, the hype is justified. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and relatively clean. Unfortunately, we were sat at a table that had some sticky spots and crumbs, but I assume they just missed wiping that table before we were sat. The food is delicious and fresh!! We started with the Calamari, which was perfectly fried and delicious. We then got a Pizza, which had one of the best crusts i've ever had. I got the pasta gia, which was so flavorful. We also got chicken parm and chicken piccata. All of our dishes tasted so fresh and flavorful. Not heavy at all despite it being an italian restaurant. I would definitely return and recommend this to anyone looking for fair prices, delicious food, and great service. We picked this from reviews on Yelp and it was great! The service and setting were wonderful! The restaurant is in the old library building in downtown Naperville. Atmosphere was casual and there were families and groups of all ages. There is a ramp on the south side of the buildwith a door for those who can't do stairs. When we called for reservations we were told there is a parking garage south of the restaurant, but we found parking in a closer lot since it was Sunday evening I think one could point at anything on the menu and have a wonderful meal. Our group shared small plates of zucchini fries, grilled cauliflower, and arancini. Mains were chicken piccata, beef tenderloin salad and a pizza. Loved it all! Going out for pizza in DT Naperville when I was a kid meant deep dish at Lou Malnati or Giordano's. And while I still have much love for those local institutions, deep dish is more of a Friday night take out option for us. (Literally, Lou's take out happens at least every other month!) However, this is 2023, and "going out for pizza" with my kids means WOODFIRED! This location is easy to access and in a historic old library building. Local architecture with craft pizza? These guys get it! We came for lunch and this place knows exactly how to be kid friendly and on trend and foodie modern for adults. We ordered two of the pizzas and the flavors were excellent. And the dough was really awesome...very important when it comes to pizza and this dough delivers. This is on my list of places to come back to. My husband had a Cabernet we both really liked. We ordered their whipped ricotta with toast & honey comb. It was delicious but I realllllly wish the ratios were better! They gave us a ton of bread with only enough ricotta to spread on about half of them, if we spread it super thin. Same with the honeycomb, very small amount. For the price I feel like they could give a bigger portion of ricotta & honey. Our waiter was great and super attentive even though we weren't ordering a full dinner. I heard of their "Pizza Monday" deals here. So we came a little before 4pm as late lunch / early dinner. We got immediately seated. Not many customers yet. All pizza were 50% off. We decided to try 3 pizzas and some small desserts. Our orders: Pizzas Wild mushroom Stinger (sausage, pepperoni, spicy honey) Burrata pie (caramelized onion, pesto, pistachios, arugula) Desserts Dolchinos (small cup desserts) Ricotta cheese cake Tiramisu Pizza: Wild mushroom - 4 stars Tasted good, but rather simple compared to the other 2. Mushrooms were nicely marinated. And this pizza travelled in the best condition. So if you plan to take some home, this menu will be a good choice! Stinger - 4.5 stars Spice level was a little too high for me, so I could not keep eating. But fancy honey glaze was a great touch to balance the flavor. This one became a little soggy after taking it home, but I still love the flavor as a whole. If you are good with the heat, this will be a great test menu. Burrata pie - 4.5 stars This was my meal of the day this time. Good tomato sauce, crispy and chewy dough, pesto balanced all ingredients well, and big mozzarella cheese ball was fun to cut into the size as you like. I personally don't like much arugula on pizza, but this one I did not mind. It travelled okay, but if you wanna enjoy the mozzarella again, I think it should be heated in the oven again, not microwaved. I would definitely order it again! Dessert Tiramisu - 3.5 stars It was classic. Crispy coffee bean on the top was a nice touch. I liked it, but not that special. Ricotta cheesecake - 5 stars Nothing to complain about. It was the perfect finish in the early evening meal. This was my wife's favorite item during this visit. Dense cheese cake and berry sauce matched really well. Also, the top was torched like a creme brûlée, so there was a surprise crunch! Very much recommended! Before and during the meal, it was fun to see a flying pizza dough between plants in front of their kitchen. Atmosphere was lively and happy, but as it gets close to the peak time, it was becoming more noisy. So it is not for a quiet talk. Also it was a little difficult to find since there was no apparent sign around it. Remember this place was built in an old library building. So it might help you more to try to find the stone Nichols Library sign, than the name of Gia Mia. read more

We're not from the area so this building looked kind of deserted when we were walking up (no one was coming or going). But as we entered, it was definitely bustling inside. We were able to snag a couple of seats at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. There were so many vegetarian items on the menu that sounded fantastic. We ended up going with the Spinach Artichoke Fonduta, Beet and Farro salad, and Wild Mushroom pizza. Everything was great. Loved the Asiago "crackers" that came with the fonduta. Don't get carry out from this restaurant. Placed two orders, they were supposed to be done at the same time. One was done 15 minutes before pickup time and the other was completed at different times - pasta was done but they still had to wait 15 minutes for the pizza to be done. So, when I finally got all I had 2 orders with 3 different temps. And on top of it, the employees didn't seem to care whatsoever. The manager walked past me numerous times without checking in (I was there for 30 minutes, you think they'd make sure things were taken care of). Food was fine but nothing special.
