We had the BEST experience working with the manager Nicole to plan a surprise 60th birthday dinner for about 20 guests. Nicole was flexible and a great communicator throughout the planning process - she helped make sure we pre-ordered enough food and answered all our questions. The set up was perfect and no one left hungry. We had TONS of different things, but the shrimp pasta and the vodka pasta were favorites. You also can't miss the bruschetta appetizer. Been wanting to come here ever since I heard a location was opening in Naperville! We came for lunch & ordered one of the lunch special pizzas (the Livia) and the mushroom pasta. Usually I'm not a big mushroom fan, but I was so surprised that the mushrooms were actually the best part of the pasta! They were creamy and added a really nice texture. The feta cheese and spinach added great balance to the dish overall and it was delicious! The pizza was larger than we expected which is always a nice surprise. It was personally a bit too spicy for my taste, but I still really enjoyed the flavor. We were seated outside, and it happened to be a very windy and warm day. Because of the wind, menus were flying everywhere and an umbrella even fell over and almost landed on someone's table. To the restaurant -- I'd definitely recommend finding some ways to better secure the umbrellas as someone could've been seriously injured, & also maybe investing in some menus with cover or bounding so they don't fly away. Lastly, when we were finished eating, it took a long time before anyone noticed we were ready for the bill. We tried flagging down waiters several times and maybe because it was a busy time or there weren't enough waiters, but it seemed like no one was bothering to look our way. There are a couple of very significant issues that stop me from rating this higher. First ~ the noise level is such that I was unable to hear the person next to me, never mind the person across from me. Something really needs to be done about that. I am not the first reviewer to mention that. I asked for a "side" of rigatoni. "We can't do that." Our server looked at me like I had 3 heads. Fine ~ just give me the whole order and I will take home what I don't eat. And thank goodness I did because I ordered the Caprese salad as my entree. I did go back and read the description of the Caprese on their menu because I was shocked to have a plate of arugala lettuce, a few chopped tomatoes, crumbled feta , and croutons placed in front of me. When I said that this was not correct ~ I was told that this is their "take" on Caprese salad. After re-reading the menu I think they need to change the name. Mozzarella and basil (which the menu includes in their description but not on the plate) are quintessential ingredients of Caprese salad. Our server was wonderful and the manager did come over to discuss the salad ~ so the whole situation was perfectly handled. The blueberry gelato was absolutely delicious. Outdoor seating is available but keep in mind that it is on the west side of the building (afternoon sun) which also fronts Washington Street which is the main north-south street through Naperville. read more

Our favorite is the watermelon capris. For an appetizer, I thought the zucchini fries were OK, I've had it better elsewhere, so it's hard to say that these were great. This location and ambiance is so unique being in the old Naperville library. I've been to the location in Wheaton as well and food is great across the board. I've had a variety of dishes including pastas and pizzas and everything has been tasty. Service has also been nice every time. I've been to a few locations of Gia Mia, in Wheaton and Downers Grove, but it was a special occasion so I wanted to visit the Naperville location. I couldn't have been any happier. The ambiance is a lovely remodeled library with an open area, a bar and a back area close to the kitchen. It was my 43rd anniversary and wanted to enjoy some real quality dinner, and I wasn't disappointed. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Ingrid was our server and was as cool as you can get. So attentive to our needs and what a great meal. This has to be the first time I was so engaged in dinner, I didn't even take pictures, but that's ok, you don't need them to know the delight you're going to enjoy when you visit. I started with the most delectable small plate appetizer, Ricotta and Honeycomb. I've had it every time I've been there and was so mouthwatering. It was grilled French bred with whipped ricotta, EVOO, sea salt and a unique Wildflower Honeycomb. Just spread some on the toast and add the ricotta, and you've got such a succulent appetizer. I strongly recommend it. Then I went to the main course, Short Rib Gnocchi. A plate full of soft tasty gnocchi, and drenched with seasoned short ribs, not overbearing garlic, carrots and tomatoes, showered with Parmesan cheese and herbs. Was to die for! My wife had something we've had before and was not surprised it was the best thing on the menu., Panccheri Vodka, a plate of giant rigatoni, filled with Italian sausage and draped with crispy prosciutto and Vodka Sauce. Came in for the first time with my mom last week and we had a great time! I love that they were able to utilize the old Nichols Library and still preserved the roots. The look of the brick interior is so charming. It was pretty busy for a week night but we had a reservation and were seated right away. The food was delicious. We started with the Prosciutto and Fig Bruschetta and the way all of the flavors blend is just perfect. We also had the margherita and stinger pizzas. The wood fired crust is just the right texture. And we finished with the mini desserts which are not only good but much appreciated for a small touch of sweetness to end the meal. Their entire menu looks so good so I will be back to try more.
