If I could give more than five stars, I would. Lots of restaurants in the area within walking distance but this one caught my eye. Interior is definitely old school, Italian feel with a touch of modern. Immediately greeted by Donny, who rolled out the red carper for me. I came solo, sat at the bar. The restaurant has a lot of wood, dim lighting and a nice size bar. Upstairs, they also can hold large parties. My bartender was great, gave free, fresh, warm bread and who doesn't love that? My drink was tasty and I took a recommendation for food. I ordered scallops along with a piece of halibut snd a side of pasta. The fish was buttery and light. The scallops were tender and juicy. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Also had an espresso martini that was to die for. I came the next day because I enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend. Don't miss out on this spot.

We booked last minute for Christmas, and sat at the bar at 4 pm. Excellent service, superb food and drinks! I like sitting at the bar here more than the tables (shhh). We had two margaritas (yum), meatballs app, Spinach Ravioli, and a sausage rigatoni. Everything was excellent. And, they offered free bread, and oil for it that was warm. The food tasted very fresh.

Overall (A) It's a great safe bet place for an authentic nicer lunch or dinner. If you are going out with friends or family - you won't go wrong by picking Francesca's in downtown Naperville. Value (A) We paid a bit under $300 for eight individuals including tip tax alcohol appetizers. So around $35 a person. Plan on $40 a person and you will be good. The portion sizes are great and you may have left overs with the pastas Service (A-) Ours was good just not great since we went on a Saturday night and they were busy. Would have been an A but I was not informed of the specials (which I would have ordered) and it took them a while to get us drinks and come by. Overall they were super nice, friendly and food came out in a well paced fashion. They also did a great job with the desserts since we were celebrating 2 birthdays. Honestly if we didn't have people showing up at different times on a busy Saturday night - I'm sure it would have been an A Food (A) Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all the food that they got. We have the bruschetta and calamari for appetizers which I would recommend. The sauce for the calamari is really good. The bruschetta tastes great and the four large pieces are easily shareable. For dinner I got the carpaccio which I am a huge fan of. They do it with avocado. Everyone else got an assortment of pastas and pizzas. It's all great safe bet food. It may not be the best ever but it's really good and you will enjoy your meal. We got some desserts for the birthday treat which was nice of them and those were good also. It was some pastry with ice cream thing. They also have bread service when you arrive which was good If you are looking for a nicer Italian dining experience - try them out. Both Francesca's and Rose Bud do a great job in downtown Naperville and you can't go wrong. Even on a super busy night they kept things moving and the food tasted fresh. Ignore the negative reviews and try them out.

Review based on dessert service only. Stopped by on a Sunday evening for a post dinner treat. There were a couple of groups - including a large birthday celebration- but we never felt like our service wavered. Our server, Margeaux, was attentive, offered suggestions and was a pleasure to be around. We ordered the sloppy sundae, sticky toffee carrot cake and tiramisu. All of them were delicious and worthy of recommending. However the sticky toffee carrot cake was stellar. It was definitely a sweet dessert due to the caramel topping and cream cheese frosting. The most interesting element was the pairing of sour cream gelato with this cake. The sour cream was not overly off putting and was very well balanced. Both the cream cheese and sour cream offered a nice sour tang that complemented the sweet cake. This dessert alone would warrant a repeat visit to the restaurant. I recognize that the dessert menu does change but when this is on it, it's a must order!

Our team had the absolute BEST experience at La Sorella di Francesca! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was incredible, and the service was next-level. A huge shoutout to Donny Greco, who went above and beyond to make us feel right at home--like we were dining with family. It's rare to find that kind of genuine hospitality and care these days. If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine with heartfelt service, this is the place. We can't wait to come back!

The food was amazing and our service impeccable! It was a quiet evening in the restaurant for a Monday night, but by the end of the night the dining room was filled. It was my birthday dinner and I am so glad I chose La Sorella! It's been about 13 years because we moved out of state. When ever you have the chance, and you want a fine dining experience you won't be disappointed if you choose authentic Delish La Sorella in Naperville! Shout out to the AMAZING manager Mr. Grico probably not spelling it correctly but in my opinion he made the evening for us. He also entertains and sings too! Very experienced restauranteaur and if you ask me are lucky to have him! Enjoy!

Round 2 and it was fabulous!! Honestly I love the fettuccine Limone e gamberi!! It wasn't on the menu but the owner ensured us he could have the kitchen make it. He also remembered us from 5 months ago and chatted with us for a bit. Definitely recommend on a week day visit to talk to the owner and enjoy the vibe. Can't wait to come back!

Tonight felt especially memorable and worthy of a proper review. We usually avoid Friday nights because Vai's is almost always packed... and after tonight, it became crystal clear why. Diane and I were craving a standout meal, a little comfort, and a relaxing evening together. What we received was far beyond dinner service. We were treated like valued regulars and genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Pete, who I believe is the manager, recognized us immediately and encouraged us to put our name on the waiting list despite the crowd. I'm grateful he did. While we waited, we sat outside near the fire on a cool evening, which added another layer of warmth and ambiance to an already inviting atmosphere. Within minutes, Pete came outside personally to let us know two seats had opened at the bar. That level of attentiveness matters. As soon as we walked in, Eliot and Mallory greeted us with smiles and authentic positive energy. Not forced. Not transactional. Genuine. They made us feel appreciated simply for being there. Even on one of the busiest nights imaginable, they engaged with guests with the same warmth and attentiveness we've experienced during quieter weekday visits. In the background, Morgan was crafting cocktails with precision while still finding time for a familiar nod that quietly says, "Good to see you again." That kind of hospitality cannot be faked. We ordered our favorite dish, the Lobster & Shrimp Rigatoni and once again it was exceptional. Rich, consistent, perfectly prepared, and easily one of the best dishes in Naperville. Without us even asking, the kitchen thoughtfully split the entrée onto two plates. That small gesture perfectly captures what makes Vai's special... attention to detail seems woven into everything they do. From the fire outside to the flowers inside, from the cocktails to the consistency of the food, Vai's creates an atmosphere that feels welcoming, polished, and sincere all at once. Authenticity and respect seem embedded in the culture there. Tonight was a standout evening for us, and I'm genuinely glad we decided to stay despite the crowd. Pete, Eliot, Mallory, Morgan, and the entire staff - thank you for reminding us what great hospitality looks like. Outstanding indeed.

Service was great! Everyone was friendly and prompt and wanted to make sure we had a great meal. The food was fresh and delicious. I recalled a Davanti location in Chicago but never had the chance to check it out, so this was my first time and it was great! The atmosphere is chic and the food was excellent, but not in a flashy, overdone, complicated way, just real good, made in house, hearty Italian fare. The Focaccia Di Recco was AMAZING. Yes, all caps. We packed up half of it to take home and it was still great the next day (reheated and then toasted in our mini counter oven/fryer). If you order just one thing here, let it be this focaccia dish. I understand why it's popular and I blurted out loud several times while eating this in restaurant: "on my god" it was truly divine. As my husband said, "this food might be better than what we had in Italy..." and I don't disagree. The kitchen does not do split portions for pasta but they were able to bring out 2 plates for us to split ourselves. This is a great spot for date night, a ladies night out, or a solo wine & dine at the bar. I can't believe I didn't come sooner. Plus, it's located right next to a parking garage which made our night out really convenient! We can't wait to come back! Five shining stars.

In the ongoing saga of trying to find a restaurant that works for all three of us: my vegan wife,…read moreme (a very NOT vegan) and our picky 8-year old, tonight's episode took place at Fiammé in downtown Naperville. Its very hard to find spots that can accommodate our very particular palates, and even more hard to find good vegan options outside of the city. Thats why I was excited to find this lovely Italian restaurant. The parking lot is small but there's a good amount of sidestreet parking. The inside is warm, cozy and super clean (including the restrooms ). The hospitality stood out right away. The owners and wait staff were very welcoming, and our server was fantastic; honest (which I appreciate), knew the menu well, and once she realized our situation, gave us some wonderful direction on what to order. I wouldn't say that the menu is overwhelming, but I rarely go to a restaurant where it takes me that long to decide what I want. There are lots of interesting options, from braised short rib ravioli to baked ziti, and several tasty appetizers (highly recommend the calamari). But we had come for the PIZZA. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza. It was surprisingly bigger than we thought, and at a great price. The kid only ate half before she said, "I like it...this might be better than [insert famous Chicago pizza brand]." (you MUST KNOW that this is high praise from a 3rd grader). My wife ordered the "They Don't Have Beef With Me" vegan Detroit-style pizza, and I have to admit, it was very good. Somehow they pulled off a buttery (but not butter) crust with melty vegan cheese (but NOT cheese ). Absolutely nailed it. I would have eaten more of hers if I hadn't ordered the Butcher pizza from the wood-fired menu. It was OUTSTANDING. Great flavor, perfect texture. Easily one of thee best wood-fired pizzas I've ever had. We're not drinkers, but they do have a good wine list and some nice zero-proof options, including the Amber Apple and The Drip. We didn't make it to dessert, mostly because the portions are generous, so our bellies (and our to-go boxes) were full. We will definitely be back to try other menu options and for dessert. If your family or friend group includes picky palates or dietary restrictions (the pizzas can be made gluten-free as well), then run...don't walk...to Fiammé. 100/10 recommend.

I ordered the vegetable wood fired pizza and it was good, my husband ordered the Detroit Style double pepperoni and it was also very yummy. Located in Naperville, Rosebud has several locations in the Chicago area and are owned under the Rosebud restaurant group. This particular location is in downtown Naperville and serves high-quality, authentic Italian cuisine. The inside has a modern aesthetic with an upscale, romantic atmosphere. I will say this restaurant seems more appropriate for special occasions and formal dinners. The dress code should is smart-casual or business-casual, this is not a casual restaurant. Service seemed a little off and the kitchen was definitely behind. We arrived 10 minutes after our reservation and our table still wasn't ready. We were seated as soon as it was ready, but you could tell they were swamped. The bread took about 15 minutes to come out and it wasn't super warm or fresh. Our server gave us plenty of time to look over the menu, a little too much. But he seemed very busy keeping up with the other tables, so it was more understandable. We put out appetizers and entrees in together to try and speed things up. The kitchen was extremely backed up. It took nearly 20-25 minutes to receive our appetizers. And at least another 30 for our entrees. While this was frustrating, it happens. They also forgot to add shrimp to one of the entrees, although they did take it off the bill. The other aspects of the service were wonderful though. Our waters were filled very frequently by various staff. We had the manager check-in on us a couple times as well. It was clear they were trying to do their best that night. Our server was very personable and friendly too. For the food, we started with some bread and olive oil. They do replenish the bread too. The second basket we received was much fresher than the first. For appetizers, we ordered the grilled calamari and garlic knots. The grilled calamari came with sautéed peppers and had some sort of balsamic olive oil dressing. The dressing was quite strong and the calamari had a strong charred taste. This wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad either. The garlic knots were phenomenal! With just the right amount of oil, garlic, and parmesan, they were soft and just delectable. For my entree, I ordered the Gnocchi Bolognese. This was a generous portion and had lovely presentation. The bolognese sauce was decent with a good amount of veal and beef. I wish it had more of a robust flavor though. The dollop of creme fresh on top made the dish really creamy! The gnocchi was decently tender, not too soft or overcooked. Wasn't "wowed" by this dish, but was satisfied. Overall, my experience at Rosebud could have been a little better. Communication seemed to be off that night. Kitchen was extremely backed up and a lot of errors were made. Luckily some items were taken off the final bill, which was nice. The food was good, not great. I enjoyed the atmosphere, but again, was expecting more out of the overall service.
