This place is all view, no substance. The waterfront setting is genuinely nice, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. The service was terrible from start to finish. Slow, inattentive, and disorganized, with long stretches of waiting and little communication. To make matters worse, there's an automatic 25% gratuity, which feels completely unjustified given the level of service. I'm fine tipping well when it's earned, but forcing it at that rate while delivering poor service is ridiculous. As for the food, it was fine. Not bad, but nothing memorable or worth the price. Everything felt average at best, and definitely not enough to make up for the service or the inflated expectations. If you're just looking for a nice view by the water and don't care much about service or standout food, maybe this works. Otherwise, there are far better places in the city that respect both your time and your wallet.

Our waiter was wonderful. We went here for our 8 year anniversary the food was amazing. Hubby had the steak and sharing. I had baby lambs and potatoes. It was very romantic and low key for it being a week day. I love eating by the water.

We hosted my daughter's bridal shower at Giando on the Water and it was truly a beautiful experience. The view was spectacular and created the perfect setting for such a special day. The service was top-notch, with everything running smoothly and each course served with perfect timing. The meal itself was delicious, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout. It made the entire celebration feel effortless and memorable. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

Came for a birthday party. This place was beautiful for the view you get to see the whole side of the Brooklyn bridge and the city while you dine. The food was giving event space taste, typical, steak, salmon, chicken franchise & shrimp with broccoli and potatoes. Fair enough it was a prefix menu but it was just mediocre. The service too was mediocre, very get the job done vibe, no real genuine service and no real bartender, (while we waited for the party we had to call a server over to help). I wasn't impressed, however I would go back to try the regular menu, only because the birthday girl did rave about her coming since she was 16 years old.

Took a trek to Brooklyn for a few friend's bridal shower. The venue has spectacular views of the Brooklyn bridge and river. Great photo ops. The food was surprisingly good as was the service. It's definitely worth a visit to the restaurant if you are in the area.

Review from Colette and Flamur From the moment I walked in, I was treated like an absolute princess bride. Joe, the manager, is not only extremely professional and honest, but also funny--which made the entire experience even more enjoyable! Needless to say, we booked the venue that very night. From that moment forward, Joe and his entire staff went above and beyond to make sure every question was answered and every request fulfilled. They even let me rehearse my first dance at the venue three or four times before the wedding, which meant so much. Joe is truly professional, down-to-earth, and committed to making everything perfect. Our wedding was nothing short of spectacular--the wedding of the year! Flamur and I have been married less than a week, and our phones are still ringing off the hook with guests raving about the incredible food and the breathtaking views. The staff was so attentive and helpful, and everything came together flawlessly. If you're considering booking any kind of event--from a shower, to a birthday, to a wedding--this is absolutely the place. We now feel like family here. A huge thank you to Joe, to Emily (who was such an amazing help on the day of the wedding), and to Lucy, Vanessa, and Maritza as well. You all made our day perfect!

Cool spot on one of the busiest locations in BK. Drive slow or you'll miss the entrance because at first glance all you see is a black wrought iron fence and you immediately think it's gotta be an empty lot but look just beyond into it and you see a huge Giando sign on the side of the building. Valet parking only and you walk towards some unassuming glass doors into a beautifully appointed "lobby" where you're asked what party you're here for and they take you upstairs or into the main room and I think they have a party room downstairs too. Event I was here for was a small wedding reception set up in the back area of the main dining room. Gorgeous view of the BK bridge, sunset and downtown city skyline. Room was packed half with the wedding guests and the other half with diners with reservations but the noise level was never intrusive to our party. Meal was your basic Italian catering items... You got a delicious dressed salad, a penne ala vodka pasta, your choice of steak, chicken marsala or salmon fracaise and for dessert they served the wedding cake, coffee/espresso and a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream, that immediately became affogato for me. Servers were attentive and present! I definitely would host an event here!

Food: I have to admit that I didn't expect the food to be as well seasoned and delicious as it was. OMG...everything on the plate was delicious and it was so much that I couldn't finish eating everything on the plate, lol. Generous portions for sure. Service: The service was impressive and impeccable!!! From the doorman to the food servers and everyone in between, our family couldn't have asked for better service. Ambiance: I traveled from Houston to celebrate mi 92 year old abuelita and tío's birthday in Brooklyn, NY. The locale was well situated and the venue was decorated in a very classy style with a breathtaking outdoor setting. Just perfect!

There are not enough words to express how blown away and grateful we are for Giando on the Water - the gem of all wedding venues in New York City, hidden and somewhat under the radar, this venue is bold and refined and we're so glad we found it by simply walking in Domino Park in July of 2024. From the very first day we met with Joe and Liz at Giando, we knew we were in good hands - literally, as we shook his hand and confirmed booking our date - New Year's Eve 2025. From July 2024 until the very last song of our wedding, working with Giando was nothing but a joy. Joe and Liz are true working professionals - they know how to run an event and run it well. Their operational aptitude is unmatched and with every request, idea or vision we had to bring our dream wedding to life - they listened, responded and provided real feedback on how we can make what we want to happen, happen in a way that was operationally sound and would be successful for us. Joe is a MASTER operator - he laid our every minute of our wedding with perfection and Liz is a TOP notch seasoned organizer, reviewing every detail (which we had lots of) with precision and assuring no stone was unturned in bringing these details to life on wedding day. We met with them in-person multiple times leading to the wedding and their ability to work with us on everything we wanted to do was so appreciated. Now when it came to wedding day, we were even more blown away and our expectations were not met they were exceeded. Every single vendor involved (and we had many) we welcomed in and helped set-up and produce this dream wedding of ours. We had our ceremony inside the ballroom since it was New Year's Eve and they did an incredible transformation to flip the room from dreamy white pipe & drape ceremony to moody black/gold reception in less than an hour. We also had a STELLAR cocktail hour - the food was insane (especially the tortellini alfredo, eggplant rollatini & fried calamari) and the drinks were strong (which everyone appreciated). The cocktail room looked gorgeous because of Giando's wonderful holiday decor matched with the amazing NYC skyline views and our design. Then the reception was our dream event - the salad and pasta course set the tone for food and then the generous entrees (steak, salmon, chicken marsala) were even better than expected with tasty vegetables, potatoes & bread - more than plenty of food for any wedding and some of the most I've ever seen at an event! The bartenders did an amazing job during the reception too and the servers were incredible keeping champagne flutes full, wine bottles on every table, beer buckets on tables who wanted them and meeting every need of every guest. Theresa, our bridal attendant was the STAR of the show - she assured my gown was kept white even when a few guests spilled or food got on my dress (she literally cleaned my dress with a tide pen/club soda multiple times throughout the night), she set us up with a plate of every cocktail hour bite to eat, brought out every entree for us to try and never left my champagne glass empty or my husbands hand empty of a beer. She also helped me change from my wedding gown to reception look and made sure my veil during the ceremony was perfect walking down the aisle. The service team at Giando are best of the best, know what they're doing and do it well and with charm. They even allowed us to have a late night snack L&B Spumoni gardens vendor pop-up and helped with laying out hats to give away at the end of the night, special rock candy to go into our champagne, custom matches for our cigar vendor and assured our custom napkins, signage, etc. were where we asked for it to be. They made it so easy to bring in the vendors we wanted and perfected the wedding night in working so well together with each of them. This WILL NOT be the last event we host at Giando on the Water - the hidden gem of NYC with the most stunning view of NYC, incredible and indulgent food, top-notch seasoned service and a best in class leader - Joe. THANK YOU GIANDO ON THE WATER.

I have been here twice and I have no complaints, their food is great, views are impeccable and the service is always top notch. I had my wedding dinner here and they were so accommodating, we had the best views and pictures. Our party loved the food and the service, this will be a place I continue to go to for celebrations.

My husband and I got married at Giando's on Dec 28 2024 and it was utter perfection. Before we were even engaged I had a vision of a stunning nighttime ceremony, lit by tons candles, and a cityscape backdrop, and the space at Giando's as well as Joe and his staff truly made my vision come to life with all of that and more with not one but two bridges to light up our photos PERFECTLY! Even though it was one of the cloudiest days (and rained a ton), the skyline came through and painted the most beautiful background for our night and our guests were truly in awe. We got SO many compliments on stunning room, views, and the amazing food which was so important to us (people particularly loved how they got not one but two filets!). They have a hugeee, bright, and beautiful bridal suite complete with a bar and more of that city skyline, where I took my getting ready photos with all my girls and family (I'm one of nine just to show you how much room there was), and I particularly loved the awesome elevator photos we got, SO CUTE! It was better than my pintrest board could have ever predicted! The staff was also incredible! I'm a bit type A and got married right around the holidays so extra stress but Joe and his team were more than patient, accommodating working with our many DIYs, flipping the ceremony space so fast despite all my little details, and they truly treated us like family. We could not be happier! Everyone says you won't eat and at least one thing will go wrong but we ATE and we had zero regrets all night! It was perfection. Little bonus that we can come back every year to the restaurant for the same amazing food and views for our anniversary 1000/10!!

    Yes they do.

Do you need a reservation? Can I make a reservation for today (2/27/22) at 4pm for a party of 5?

    Yes

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Hi yes it is wheelchair accessible and they have an elevator!!

Is there street parking easily available?

There is plenty of valet parking right at the restaurant. It has its own large parking lot just in front of the door, may be valet only though depending on when you come but plenary of parking for sure.

The room is small and romantic, homemade pasta hangs in the front window, and the whole evening felt less like dining out and more like being invited into someone's family table in Florence. We started with the fritto misto, a well executed mix of fried fish and vegetables, alongside an insalata caprese that let fresh tomatoes, burrata and basil speak for themselves. From there we went family style, which is really the only way to do it here. The bucatini cacio e pepe was as much performance as dish, mixed tableside directly in the cheese wheel. The fusilloni di Gragnano from Puglia paired scampi with burrata, cherry tomatoes and arugula for a bright, briny plate, while the tagliatelle verdi brought a rich wild boar ragu finished with fresh black truffle. The two standouts, though, were the agnolotti ossobuco with veal sauce and pecorino fondue rounded out with thyme and lemon, and the lasagna Bolognese. That lasagna, layered with meat ragu, tomato and bechamel, may be the best I have ever had. We paired the meal with a bottle of Salvioni 2022 Rosso di Montalcino, aromatic and beautifully matched to the food. The space is cozy and intimate rather than sprawling, so a reservation is a smart call. Everything else, from the food to the atmosphere to the sense that someone's nonna was cooking just for us, made this one of the most memorable meals in NYC. We would return without hesitation.

Overall it was good, but the combination needed better balance. The gorgonzola had a pretty aggressive bite, and paired with the saltiness of the prosciutto it became a little much. There were some greens underneath, and once I incorporated those into each bite, they mellowed everything out considerably. I actually think the greens needed to be treated as part of the dish rather than essentially garnish. For my entrée I had the special, a risotto with clams and octopus. The octopus was easily the best part. The clams were extremely small and pretty average, to the point that I'm not sure they added much to the dish at all. The risotto itself was also surprisingly bland and not particularly enjoyable on its own. Mixed with the octopus, however, it worked much better and became a genuinely enjoyable bite. That's ultimately where the dish felt a little uneven: the strongest component was carrying the rest of the plate rather than everything working together. Service was fine when I arrived, but became noticeably slower once the outdoor seating filled up. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor sections, but appeared to have only two servers, with the hostess also serving and a barback supporting the operation. Once the patio got busy, most of the staff's attention shifted outside and the indoor dining room received considerably less attention. Nobody seemed lazy or inattentive individually. It simply looked understaffed for the number of tables they were trying to cover. One additional server during the busy period probably would have made a substantial difference. And, admittedly a minor thing, an Italian restaurant having limoncello but no amaretto was disappointing. Nothing here was terrible. The appetizer had good ideas, the octopus was quite good, and the meal had several enjoyable moments. The food and service were just inconsistent enough that I couldn't quite call it a strong three-star experience, but it was close. I'd put it around 2.75 stars, which I'm comfortable rounding to three.

Of course, we did what we always do; showed up without a reservation haha... It was packed, and the hostess told us the was no way they could seat us. Defeated, we went outside ans sat on a bench trying to figure out our next move. Then the unimaginable happened. One of the people running the floor passed us outside, started chatting with us, and said, "let me double-check". A few minutes later, he came back and got us a table! He make sure we understood that we only had it for a short window bc they needed it back at a certain time -- but we got at least hour and a half to enjoy it so we were THRILLED. To us that was more than enough. He really went out of his way to make it happen, and honestly wish I remembered his name so I could give him the credit he deserves. And the service from there was outstanding. Even though we knew we had a time restriction, we never felt rushed or hurried for a second. Everything felt relaxed, attentive, and perfectly paced, which made them whole experience even better. Once we sat down, we started ordering as quickly as possible. The grilled clams were insanely good -- flavorful and with just the right little kick. The Nduja & sungold tomato toast was surprise favorite. The tomatoes were so juicy, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Simple, but SO good. The little gem salad was fresh, crunchy and exactly what we needed in between all the richer dishes. For pastas, I had the mafaldini with parmigiano, one of their signatures, and it was delicious. BUT... I have to give the win to my husband's pick, rigatoni alla diavola. I know they are completely different dishes, and Im usually a white-sauce kind of girl, but there was something about that bold, spicy flavor that just HIT THE SPOT. And dessert... The vanilla soft serve gelato and the warm rasberry tart together were the perfect combination -- creamy, warm, fruity, and just the right way to finish our lucky dinner. Lilia was absolutely worth the wait and definitely lived up to the hype. Another Brooklyn spot checked off the list -- and one I'd happily go back to.

The rigatoni and gnocchi were very good - the rigatoni was perfectly al dente paired with good flavor and the texture of the gnocchi was perfect. Highly recommend ordering these. Dessert: they definitely don't skimp on the dessert, we each got our own but the gelato options were definitely shareable. They also had amaro options which I always appreciate but didn't get this time. The space was a little cramped indoors though that didn't bother me as much as the temperature. Oh the old school thrill of an old school beauty of an establishment like Bamonte's!…read more I just love this place so much! I can't say enough great things about the decor the ambience and imagining all of the past goings on in this restaurant. It's been watching over Brooklyn for well over 100 years now! That in itself is a Herculean feat! From what I was told it was very popular with the mob as they say... And that's why the kitchen which is at the very back of the restaurant has full glass windows so that you can see exactly what's going on in there. I guess some of these mob guys were paranoid and rightly so consider considering their history. I arrived with my friend on a Wednesday evening about 6 PM and there were some scattered tables but by 7 PM it was mobbed (pun intended ) in there!! our waiter was affable and patient and a quite enjoyable fellow. As a sidenote, you will not find any female servers they are all male which l lends to the old school vibe in my opinion. My friend ordered the lamb chops with broccoli Rabe. He enjoyed them but did mention that though they had great flavor one of them was slightly tough... It happens... My meal was pasta with Bolognese sauce with a dollop of fresh ricotta on top. It was delicious actually the sauce was excellent. I would've liked to have a different pasta shape but they did not have it. No biggie. I could really say the food was very good but it was not excellent but for me that was not an issue as I fell in love with the place itself. The service was excellent and the ambience was fantastic! I would definitely return again and I highly recommend it if you have never been you must at least go one time!!
