This place is somewhat near my place, but a 15 minute drive in the plaza we go to just in case we need to take the back road once in awhile. The service was awesome as they kept on giving us bread. The bread was original as it was garlic and pretty big and was addicting. I only had one bread though as I did not want to get full. This review is a little late . My husband and I were recommended this GEM by his BIL, and let me tell you - definitely worth it. We kept debating on what to eat for dinner on Sunday night (yesterday) and we just couldn't decide. We are new in Forney so we just couldn't decide. We ordered: Appetizer - Caesar Salad Alfredo Pizza + Chicken The Pasta Trio Tiramisu First - the bread rolls came so fast, were warm, with a dash of Parm on them and the perfect amount of butter........Second - the Caesar salad was so fresh, crisp, and had the perfect amount of dressing on it. I could have that salad every day for dinner, that's how good it was!!! Like......I want some right now.... Next, was our entrees.....and babyy!!! The pizza was FANTASTIC!!! The amount of sauce and cheese and chicken was perfect....the ratio was perfect, and the way the pizza was cooked to perfection. The perfect amount of crunch but still light, and buttery. Let me start by saying the food was good. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Pesto pasta and the Lobster Ravioli. We also ordered two tiramisu dessert as well. The spicy pasta was our favorite though the Ravioli was also good. The tiramisu was light - a good ending to a carb heavy meal - but not necessarily noteworthy. They get 2 stars for this and this only. So, why the low rating from a first time patron.... 1. When I was midway done ordering via phone for a pick up order, the man I was speaking to suddenly said he was gonna get somebody else. No explanation. It felt like I was taking too long for him...like I had too many questions. When I asked the woman, she said why he abruptly handed off the phone she said she didn't know and maybe it was because he couldn't understand. 2. When my Mom went in to pick up the food, they were dry. 3. My Mom forgot to sign a tip so I ran back up there today to drop off a tip. When I went to the bar, they asked how they could help (two men). And I told them what happened. One said something and turned away. And the other said you can drop it in there. A thank you would've been appreciated. Yet another dry encounter. 4. The food was overpriced in my opinion. I paid $56 for 2 plates ($18.95 and $16.95) and 2 desserts ($7.95 ea). For that price, the entrees should have come with house salads. They did not. The portions were okay. I would've happily paid that much for this meal with salads, drinks (we typically drink water ir club soda anyway) and gratuity included. I called to voice my experience and spoke with a Peter since the manager was not available. Although, Peter tried to assuage my frustrations it was game over at that point. He invited us to come in and he would personally wait on us but I am not interested in spending my money at this establishment. He offered up excuses that were inexcusable and not likelyover the course of multiple interactions over the course of 20 hours. Coincidence. I think not. The food is not so good that it will cover all the other blemishes I experienced on my first and last visit here. Perhaps this would be a very different review had the customer service matched the quality of the pasta dishes. We will never know. I am looking forward to trying Manny's next door. On this rainy Saturday I finally had my first opportunity to try Gianni's in Heath. This new restaurant opened at the beginning of the year and got bad luck being hit by the pandemic shutdowns before they really got going. They are next to the new Tom Thumb, if you don't like to google directions. On today's visit we arrived around 1:45pm and sadly, were the only patrons in the restaurant. No other customers came into the business during the hour and fifteen minutes we spent there. This particularly broke my heart. Service was prompt and attentive, after all, we were the only ones. Bread basket was huge, fresh, and unlimited. If you like the bread style and taste at Luigi's in Rockwall you will love it here as it's nearly identical. We ordered side salads, which were fresh and crispy. No complaints with anything, really, the modern/minimalistic decor and ambience was fine. The place was very very clean. Still looks brand new. Italian music echoed off the empty tables and chairs. But the Star of the show, pictured, was the main dish. Spicy Chicken Pesto. This. Was. Amazing. Bursting with flavor. BOLD. Unbelievable texture. Savory, juicy chicken and roasted peppers. Every bite was so good, you felt guilty. This is a showstopper pasta. Worth the trip. Seriously. Hop in your car. Now. Right now. And easily worth the price at $14.95 To be honest I could barely finish this pasta, and if I was a better man I would've only eaten half of it and taken it home for leftovers. But I couldn't resist. Helplessly, my hands continued to shovel bite after bite of delectable spicy, savory, creamy pasta into my mouth. I didn't want to leave a single milliliter of sauce on the bowl. Even when the pasta was gone I found myself savagely wiping up the sauce remnants with a part of the complementary bread. I became a glutton. It was glorious. Despite the lapse and health-conscious judgment, I felt completely satisfied, if not a little upset with myself, for not having come in here sooner. Then it set in, that many people have probably never even tried this place whatsoever, much less in the middle of this wild national situation. I hope that this empty eatery, while nearby Chick-fil-A had literally 80 cars wrapped around the entire building at the same moment, will not be the reality for them much longer. This review is for catering and dining. We have had dinner here many times and the boys love the chicken fettuccine Alfredo as well as the white pizza. The bread is divine and always fresh! With that being said, I had the idea to hire them for catering for my husbands 40th birthday and they did not disappoint. I will say however, that the per person estimate for the large pans of pasta serves more than 10+, especially with the tons of bread and salad included. We had SO MUCH food left over that I didn't even know what to do with it all. I could have easily ordered half of what I originally planned. This is not a complaint at all. The price we paid was so reasonable and all our guests took home leftovers. Just know that portions are very generous and it's a an excellent value for a crowd. We had so many people compliment the food and ask where it was from and many family members are no interested in hiring them for catering in the future. Working with Gianni's was a breeze and staff was helpful loading the food in my car. It was nice to have our food hot, fresh, and within a 5 minute drive back to our house. read more

One of my monkies had his confirmation ceremony and he wanted Italian food. We had been here before and had a good experience. The taste allowed us to make this a no brainer and took thw 30 minute drive. When you arrive, the restaurant is located in a strip mall with many businesses. The parking slots are small so if you have a big SUV park far away ans avoid the door dents. You walk in and it's a large open area with booths by the wall and a bar area. If you have a big family like us, 5, the booths are good size for all to eat. The waiter was professional yet not friendly. He took our food and drink order quickly. He brought us fresh bread to eat while the order was being prepared. Since prices have been going up we skipped the calamari +$10. One monkey had a slice of pizza, the other 2 were true originals and ordered fettuccine alfredo. To not be out done, in our adventurous ways, the parents had chicken parmessian. The table bread ok but not as good as last time. The chicken was warm and the spaghetti has a rich tomato sauce. The portions are not big. Something weird, both boys didn't finish their meal. The 2 year old also left most of the slice of puzza. I don't know what happened but this experience was missing something compared to last time. We will try again but for $86 this meal average at best and this fat guy had to eat the complimentary bread. read more

A friend & I met at this hidden gem for lunch today & we were immediately greeted with fresh, warm rolls. It was our first time there and the waiter let us know about the house specials. We ordered calamari to start & this wasn't your typical frozen/chewy calamari. This was fresh, lightly battered with great texture. We both ordered the lobster ravioli for our entree & it was fabulous. The ravioli was accompanied by fresh chunks of tomatoes & lobster in the sauce.
