This place is, by far, the best quick take out in metrowest. The pizza is consistently amazing, the subs are spectacular, and the salads (especially the caesar) are top notch.
We've tried nearly every pizza on their menu... the classico, the neopolitan, a standard pepperonni, their sicilian (a must for a dough lover), and everything in between. While the flavors are diverse, each one has been hot, fresh, and tastier than any other place around.
Their subs are big, and each one is well thought out. If you view their menu and think to yourself "I'm not sure if that goes with that..." don't question it, it's been thought out. Their Il Panino is spectacular, so fresh and flavorful. The standard italian is just about the best I've ever had. Heck, their meatball is meaty, saucy, and cheesy... just like a good meatball sub should be.
I could rave on and on about their menu (as I said, the salads are fantastic, you definitely get your money's worth... and even their pasta sautees are better than anything you'll find at one of the chain restaurants on Route 9), but just know this... there really isn't a miss on the menu.
I do feel like I need to address a bunch of the negative reviews below. First off, yes, Gianni's is cash only. So what? It says so here on Yelp, it says so on their menu, it says so on their website, it says so all over the shop... so if you're complaining that you didn't know, maybe you need to submit a one star review on your own reading comprehension skills. Besides, this is a family owned and run place, why should they pay for every credit card transaction? I doubt people would complain about the cash only policy if Gianni's passed on that fee and charged consumers an extra couple of bucks for the convenience of swiping their card.
As for the "attitude" these guys have... they're literally slammed with orders from about 4:30pm to close. Each. And. Every. Day. They're not being short with you, they're busy making sure the person who walked in behind you will have their order filled on time too. If you know what you want when you order, keep your questions to a minimum, and are ready to pay when you pick up, you won't experience any problems. No, they're not going to shoot the breeze with you and they're not going to hold your hand and tell you "it's ok, take your time" while you hem and haw over your order. They're busy making sure everyone who knows what they want gets theirs while you dither about. I've yet to experience what I would consider rude or crass behavior from the staff... it's a pizza joint run by a bunch of Italian guys, what do you expect?
So, stop reading reviews, start reading their menu, and enjoy your next pizza. I think it's time I followed my own advice! read more
