We have a social group so there are around 25 people at our luncheons. The waitress was magnificent. She was willing to give us separate checks. The food is always terrific there. Gianni's Pizza is a backdoor walkout Italian house on the bottom floor of an much larger and older building on Bustleton Pike in Richboro, Pa. The fit out is smallish, and has the feel of a nicely finished basement. The menu has the usual suspects of most pizza parlors, the service is friendly, and the prices amazingly low. We sat in a booth in the newly painted dining area. It was comfortable, if a bit tight. We ordered the Old Fashioned Tomato Pie with Mushrooms and the Chicken Parm dinner, with the intention of sharing both. No problem getting them served at the same time. The dinner came with a house salad and pasta. The greens were a basic romaine mix with a few red onion shavings, cherry tomatoes, cukes, and a standard balsamic. It was cool and refreshing. The Chicken Parm plate at $10.99 was what the cost implied. Prefab chicken breast patties covered in sauce and mozza. Not bad, but not all that tasty. The side of penne with aglio olio was better, but needed more garlic to really announce itself. The Tomato Pie had a thicker airy crust, perhaps to hold the weight of the too loose sauce topside. The wetness above caused the bottom layer to get soggy, and impossible to pick up without a tomato slide. It was a situation where less would have been more. Keep the sauce thicker and chunkier, and the moisture would not have been an issue. In fact, we brought most of it home and re-baked it the next day, and produced the right texture and flavor. This place has some nice things going for it with location, ambiance and service, but our sampling of the food suggested that perhaps in the attempt to keep prices low they sacrificed some of the finer points of Italian cooking. There are better choices around if looking for good food from the boot. read more

We ordered take out at Gianni's. It was the first time there . We ordered a white pizza with tomatoes and wings. The pizza was just ok. A little bland. Dough was not the real crispy Italian taste that I remember from my youth. We ordered wings. They were delicious and will order again. I'm going to try the Trenton style pizza next time. We are simple people. Give us pizza , salad and fries, we're happy folks. Stopped in here , ordered a Caesar salad , traditional plain pie and fries. First up the salad. It was good, not great. The dressing was watery and the lettuce in my salad had some brown pieces. My husband's was fine though. The pizza was great. No pre-made dough here. Hand tossed , what it should be. Cheese was of good quality and not super greasy. Definitely recommend. Fries. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH...... picture Homer Simpson drooling. I'm a French fries aficionado. I know my potatoes. And I know pizza. These are pretty freaking great. They were cooked perfectly, right amount of salt. Totally worth going to an early grave for. We ordered a large vegetable pizza for pick-up around noon on a Sunday, and the wait was reasonable--around 20 or 25 minutes. The parking lot and entrance are in the back, and there is also some outdoor seating next to the entrance. The interior of the shop is pretty small with a few tables, but clean and quaint. When we went, there was a group sitting outside and another person picking up a pizza. We didn't see anyone sitting in the shop eating. The pizza itself was like that of other pizza places in the area, but a plus was the amount of toppings. It even felt unusually heavy. Prices are about average. read more
