Pizza very average (Buffalo chicken pizza pretty good). Hardly any meat on pepperoni or sausage pizzas. Cheese pizza was good. We ordered two pizzas and a cheesesteak online around 5:30 on a Friday night. The order was ready in about 25 minutes. We got a cheese and meat lovers pizza. Both were good but I definitely preferred the meat lovers. The meat lovers had a good amount of meat which resulted in each bite having meat. The pizza crust did have a little bit of chewiness but it was right at that this is good vs this is too much level. The cheesesteak was good but ordering it online was hard as there aren't many options to customize and you can't pick the type of cheese. read more

Christmas cheer. We had the most amazing lunch at Gianni's. We came in from DC and were unsure where to eat so we went to Yelp! It was on the spot accurate. the food was amazing. We got two pizza slices before our subs came. the Italian sub was hot and flavorful. the cheesesteak sub was amazing. The bread was soft and you can ask for it toasted if you'd like. The owner of the restaurant and his staff were so customer service oriented we felt like a regular / old friends welcomes for lunch. You really must try this place. I got the Cheesesteak Deluxe. It came with everything: fried onions, mushrooms, pickles, hot and sweet peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup and mayonnaise. Yes, I knew ahead of time my cheesesteak was coming with mayonnaise. No, I did not stop him from putting mayonnaise on my cheesesteak. I will not order mayonnaise but if it comes as part of the package, who am I to argue? It had a very nice roll but I don't like it as a cheesesteak roll. I would have much rather had this roll as a chocolate croissant. It was a big roll so it needed a lot more meat in it. The cheese was noticeable but with everything else, mayonnaise, the cheese got a little lost. The extras, hot peppers and mayonnaise, added a lot of flavor. read more

Firstly: Gianni's is a staple of trolley square. I love their pizza, almost as much as I love the management. Their pizza is always reliably delicious and customer satisfaction is their number one goal. Brian is fantastic and is always eager to please and make sure that you leave fed and happy! Secondly: They accommodated me when I asked on a Saturday during the dinner rush hour for a special request: my friend had been broken up with, and I asked if they could write a "special message" and deliver the pizza to her. I'm not gonna smash on them. They probably prosper because of their location but I'm looking for wilmingtons' best pizza and gave them a try cause I was in the area. The pizza was cold, tough and didn't have much flavor. I ordered veggie which was onions, green peppers and mushrooms. The dough was super tough and it actually tasted like it was an old pizza. I got the hot wings as well. A lot of breading but the flavor started off good and slowly turned into a mouth fire as I reached the last few swimming in the sauce. Funny how buying 4 slices of pizza, 2 beers and tipping 20% resulted in Gianni (owner) outright insulting me. He thought he was so entertaining he even got the other - male construction workers, in Wilmington just to add a bit of context - customers involved in mocking me for looking younger than my actual age (relevant when being ID'ed for the beers.) I forget his amazing joke - his linguistic skills went right under me - but it had to do with me being "ABC's" and how that could cost him a fine. You know what? I don't like my looks, age, or gender being fodder for a bunch of morans' chuckles. So Gianni - show a little respect. I'm 35, an adult, a paying customer, and what you did was not only lame, it was stupid - you have now lost money - and that was discrimination based on age, gender or sex. Ordered a pepperoni and mushrooms pizza to be delivered. They said it would be delivered in 1/2 hour. I've ordered from them many times without issue. Tonight the order was delivered over 45 minutes. It was not hot and actually was very cold. We ordered onion rings as well. They were cold also. Very disappointed. Quite possibly the best slice in all of Delaware. Was looking for a wick bite and their specialty slice at $3.50 was just the ticket. Fresh out of the oven I chose the pepperoni... the thin crust was baked to perfection. High quality pepperoni did no grease up on the top. Well, the pizza is pretty good. The delivery was not. Delivery time on the app is useless. The guy calls 20 minutes before the earliest delivery window and says he's three minutes away. I live in a condo so go down to meet him. He drives past me, calls again seconds later and says he'll try one more time. His tone is angry. Like he'll throw my pizza away within seconds unless I appear. We're talking on the phone and I tell him I'm looking at him. I get the box and he leaves, forgetting to turn off his phone. I have been to Gianni's four times in the last two weeks. The 2 Guys behind the counter are super friendly and customer focused. I think the pizza slices are the best around, by far...... crisp crust, but not super thick, just the right amount of sauce and cheese....and not greasy like some pizza. Don't know how people can knock the slices, but I saw the one guy like Dominoes.......guess our tastes are all different. I also had a sub here once, thought it was ok, probably 3 stars. I'm a Jersey Mike's fan for subs, so there you go. All that said, 5 stars for the slices, 3 stars for the subs. Solid 4 star average. read more

Perfect place to grab a slice on the go! The spinach ricotta tomato is my favorite. The chicken bacon ranch is awesome as well. The crust is fluffy on the inside and perfectly crisp. Gianni's is a bit dingy on the inside but I believe it adds character to this place being a no frills pizza joint with quality pies. We ate on the outside patio with our pups. I ordered 3 subs - 2 for the kids and 1 for myself. 1st, I paid $8 for a large hoagie roll and about 2pcs of turkey! It looks like someone counted the lettuce leafs and I haven't tasted the onions because there is about 4 strands in total 2nd, I ordered mayo on the bread and it was literally a swipe of it so my hoagie was super dry! I had to add my own which defeats the point of ordering out for the night. 3rd, delivery was about an hr (which is pretty standard) but our cold food must've been in with some hot food because it was very warm for cold cuts..
