We mostly order pickup for our grocery needs. I usually never allow substitutions. we usually get a text asking if we want a suggested sub for out of stock products which I am happy to receive. The last time we went to pick up I was relieved that GE had everything on the order as no texts had been sent. unfortunately not all we ordered where included. if I had been notified I could have avoided not having some ingredients for a birthday dinner. not sure why we get texts and then when we don't. read more

This particular Giant Eagle has been renovated and updated and is now branded as a Market DIstrict store - just a Giant Eagle but with additional product offerings, an expanded wine department, more housewares, etc. It is a fairly large, spacious store with plenty of convenient parking. read more

Giant Eagle has it all, especially since the transformation into The Market District. You'll find bright strategically placed displays, spacious aisles, and a store that's easy to maneuver through. Unfortunately, I don't shop here regularly. Partially because of location (distance from my home) and prices. But there are two items that I swear by - the beautiful and delicious holiday cookies and the best, as close to home-cooked fried chicken. I've purchased the cookies for years and they've stayed consistently good. FYI - these aren't the mass produced frosted sugar cookies that are sold at all grocery stores, these are baked in house. They're not cheap but they're worth it. What I recently experienced and strongly recommend is the fried chicken. Word on the street, in the foodie community, is this is the place to get your large order, special event chicken. The streets don't lie, this chicken is as close to home fried as you can get! You can purchase it hot/ready to serve or get it out the cold display labeled picnic chicken. The price is very reasonable - 8pc. under $10. I may not be a regular shopper but I'm definitely a loyal customer for the cookies and fried chicken. If you're a fried chicken fan, you may want to give Giant Eagle a try. read more

Giant Eagle seems to think that they can do an interior renovation, slightly expand the product selection, slap a Market District sign on the front, and have a top-notch grocery store. No, unfortunately, it's not that easy. The original Columbus-area Market Districts, in Upper Arlington and then Grandview, really were great grocery stores, and might still be. The Dublin one is above average but not up to the mark of the first two. This one is a distant imitation. The primary thing it's missing is the staff and management, but that shows up in the product as well. Let's start with the positives. The guy at the seafood counter has energy. That whole area seemed to be operating well. They're the only major grocer in the area with clams, and the seafood is fresh. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't have much expertise in seafood, and had no advice on which clams to buy, but overall, the seafood/meat counter area gets a 4/5. The olive bar, on the other hand, is a 0/5. It did not take me long at all to notice that there were expired olives, the oldest I found being 12 days past the date. I notified a worker nearby, and bought some that were still a few days before their expiration date, but even these were much more pungent than the same type of olives when I buy them at Fresh Thyme or Meijer. You know how fish that's been out too long is pungent? That's the Market District olives. I wound up taking them out of the dish I'd put them in and throwing them out, they were overpowering everything else. That area isn't being run properly, and even the date (three weeks from when it's packed) is probably too far out - perhaps food safe, but well past the peak. I bought a baguette from the bakery, but it's actually "French bread" whose texture is very similar to Giant Eagle bakery bagels. Which are okay, though not great, bagels, but I don't want a bagel with my French main course. 1/5 for the bread. Points are awarded for having capers in salt, rather than brine. The "wider variety" claim of a Market District has some truth to it. I went through the staffed checkout, hoping they'd have a more clever way to package the cod I'd bought at the seafood counter to minimize the chance of juices going everywhere. Nope, it gets put in my reusable bag vertical, maximizing the chances of spillage. Seafood Guy did a good job with the plastic wrap, and it hadn't spilled by the time I got it to my car and put it flat on the back seat, but I would've been better off packing the groceries myself. The staff vibe was very much "mediocre Giant Eagle" rather than "Market District", and I wouldn't be surprised if the pay is also "mediocre Giant Eagle." The staff in general was in decent supply, but unenthusiastic, other than Seafood Guy and the employee who'd learned she had 12-day-past-date olives out that needed to be sorted quickly before a health inspector swung by. Combine all the disappointing aspects with prices that are much higher than Meijer, a store that has the fundamentals down solid and also has a pretty large selection, and why would I go to the Market District, other than to buy clams? read more

Very disappointed in the new Market District! I use to buy 8 packages of Organic Valley cheese on a regular basis, and when I spoke with the grocery manager he told me that it has been replaced with the Giant Eagle brand organic Nature's Basket cheese. This cheese is not made with humanely raised cows, which is why I always bought Organic Valley. I use to shop at Kroger, then switched to Giant Eagle because of their availability of Organic Valley cheese and milk. Needless to say their prices were much higher than Kroger, but I switched my main grocery shopping over to Giant Eagle. I honestly wish you all the best Giant Eagle. read more

I just did my first delivery of groceries. Wow! My shopper communicated with me on items out of stock. I was able to substitute items and add to the order. Delivery was prefect actually early. I will do this again. read more

I went to pick up my daughter's birthday cake to find that the decorating instructions had not been followed at all. The instructions were simple and I did not request anything fancy. I said I would have to take the cake "as-is" but they took it back and made it look even worse. The bakery staff was not apologetic or friendly. I then called the store manager on my way home to relay my experience. He said he was sorry and would talk to the bakery team. I will not order any cakes in the future with Giant Eagle. read more

This review is about their pharmacy...avoid it if you can, they are all rude and act as if its a real chore to serve you. I went there once and will not be going back again. I would like to say first of all that I think its funny that this GE is getting a 5 star rating from me. BUT! it really is worth 5 stars, Mostly because of the deli/dining section. Everyday for lunch I go here because of their good prices as healthy choices. This GE has a Salad bar that is pretty impressive. Has just about everything that you would want to have on your salad. Four different lettuce types, from spinach to ice burg and in between. It even has a section of fruit for a side. (yum!) If salad isn't your taste of the day, then move on to the "Deli Section" ( I guess you would call it) Daily they have different items in the cooked section, from Mac and cheese, fried fish, fried chicken, grilled chicken, and every once and a while STEAK!!!! Oh Sweet Suzie I love me some Steak. and for cheap too, I'm talking like 5 buck meals. GET ON IT! (sorry I'm getting worked up). They got sushi, turkey, grilled Salmon, roasted veggies, coleslaw, and potato salad. It's a solid deal, I can choose what I want, and if they don't have it, then you can check the grocery part of the store.... bc its a grocery store. if they don't have it then its probably not food... they have a soda fountain, microwave, and a sitting area where you can watch the TV, or read some magazines they have on a stand. I never shop at Giant Eagle - their prices are always higher than Kroger - but I do hit 'em up for their salad bar! Since work has me traveling to different suburbs of Columbus, this GE is my go-to store when in Westerville. Same fresh salad bar as all the other GEs - consistant and tasty. read more

This review is specifically in regards to the curbside express. This service has truly made the last 4 months tolerable in my house. I tore my hamstring in August and then strained my lower back at the beginning of November. Add to that being a mom and small business owner.....(the last two things make the injuries almost unbearable when it comes to keeping things in line). However, add to the mix sending my husband to the store with a grocery list and the whole thing becomes excruciating (he means well, but...well.. It's just not a good thing). Curbside express is so easy, and the associates I have dealt with here are incredibly pleasant. I have had a few bumps with products I want being out of stock, bit that's not the end of the world. With the last pickup yesterday there were a few more issues than I would have liked, which is why I knocked off a star. They forgot to have my loaf of bread sliced AMD I didnt ever get my free product (which I have gotten with every other pickup). Also, I requested green bananas and they were all very yellow. However, when all is said and done, the minor issues are well worth the convenience of the service. I honestly wish some of the other stores would offer it, but since they don't I will continue here. Oh...one more note. Your first 3 pickups are free, and after that it is a $4.95 fee. read more

Hooray! A 24/7 location store by my new house! This is great for someone like myself, who is usually out the door before 6:30am. I have a tendency to forget important things, but with a 24/7 store I can go anytime! It is fantastic! This Giant Eagle is a bit nicer than the ones I've been to in Dublin (Avery Murifield/ Bethel) and I've found that the produce is a bit fresher here. However, sometimes the produce does have a limited selection (ie. they didn't have fresh bunches of dill here). Their bakery is the BEST (get cakes here versus Kroger...you wont be disappointed!) and I often buy baked goods for my fiance's sweet tooth. They have a very large wine and beer section, though they are no where near each other in the store. The wine is close to the produce, while the beer is closer to the pharmacy. The meat/poultry/fish department is a little small for my liking, but I always find good prices. I don't often buy massive amounts of meat, but week-to-week I can usually get exactly what I need! Everything else is pretty standard! My one word of advice is be careful in the parking lot....there are a lot of crosswalks that say "STOP" on the ground but there are no actual stop signs. Many other drivers tend to ignore this. Personally, I like to come here either really really early or really really late to avoid the large shopping crowds! read more

Third and last visit to Westerville Giant Eagle. The have 16 checkouts and all 3 times (early afternoon) only 2 were open. Fist time, lots of customers so I tried the express checkout lane and it didn't work. Second and third time, lots of people, clerks chatting with customers. We'd been waiting in line and A "traffic director" asked if people had 20 items or less and checked them out ahead of those with more items. I asked a clerk at the pharmacy about something and she said, "around the corner." No more trips there for me to many groceries to choose from. I'll go to the one on 23. If theres a long line, they'll Open a checkout plus the pharmacy people are far far more helpful. read more

I love Giant Eagle. The store is consistently clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and very very helpful. I love that we get money off of our gas after we spend every $50. The prices are higher than say Kroger or Meijer but I have always found what I've needed. If I can't find it someone will always kindly take me to the aisle to find it. I've been an avid Giant Eagle shopper for a very long time. Giant Eagle has been my grocery store of choice in 3 different homes throughout Ohio. With that being said, this is the worst grocery store I have ever had the misfortune of shopping at. Ever since they reorganized the store they cannot seem to keep anything stocked ever. Just as an example, last week they were out of 5 things I needed including cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, non giant eagle brand spinach (the giant eagle brand goes bad in 24 hours), our brand of bread and the salad dressing we wanted to buy. Today they were out of the syrup we buy and giant eagle brand butter forcing us to pay more for name brand. Being out of giant eagle brand and forcing me to buy name brand is a regular occurrence at this store. read more

I have always shopped here, mainly because of the kids club. My child loves it. The staff in the kids club are awesome. Unfortunately there is a practice of randomly closing it. We drive a distance since they closed other kids clubs. The lines are terrible. The lady who yells out to get you through the lines is abraisive. Too bad she isnt doing something useful like running another register. I don't want self checkout! Of course i would rather wait than have the sick cashier sneeze all over my stuff like that one time... yuck! Since they reorganized stuff, it is harder to locate items and things are often out of stock. Some of the staff just seem not to care. My favorite ..the complaining staff while i stand in line. Really?! Something happened not long ago that has made staff disgruntled is my guess.. Giant eagle has never been the cheapest store, but i always shopped there because of quality and services that they are now cutting. I specifically called new years eve for pharmacy hours. The person who answered the store line said until 6. We drove all the way there and it was closed. Not to mention my fsa problem. I would have went earlier had i been given correct info. Have used this bakery for years and I must admit the cakes are ALWAYS delicious! I was in need of a special order for a baby shower and this bakery team did an AMAZING JOB!! I'm a huge fan of GE and a fan of this store. I try to buy the bulk of my groceries in one trip to limit the times I have to go to the store; thus, I typically have more than one cart after checking out. My cashier always gives Ben a call and he assists with carryout. It's obvious Ben takes pride in what he does and always has a smile on his face. He throws a couple jokes in there and engages in conversation all the way out to my car! The reason I didn't give it 5 stars - they don't keep their shelves stocked very well. Depending on the day you go, depends on if they'll have an item or not. It can be really frustrating, especially when I drive 15/20mins to this store purposely. read more

This Giant Eagle is so disappointing. The organic section in produce keeps shrinking every year. I'd be surprised if they have 15 organic vegetables total. The biggest disappointment for me is that they keep increasing the number of unmanned checkout lines. Now about 90% of the lines are self-service. Ridiculous. This causes the lines to lengthen because customers can't get the checkout computers to work properly. Plus, for any alcohol purchase a clerk has to come check your ID (so much for reduced manpower). Because of this particular store, I have a bad impression of the entire Giant Eagle brand. I'm sure the other Giant Eagle stores are using these same "genius" cost-cutting measures. read more

I have been shopping at this giant eagle for about 15 years. In the beginning, I appreciated the quality of the product, the service of the cashiers, and all the nice amenities that go with it. But those times have changed. Now there are times too many to mention where your product is not stocked. Omg the service!!! I shop normally during day hours. Not weekends. Usually there's only one checkout cashier for large purchases available and there are multi lanes of self-serve checkout lines One cashier, in particular is so busy chatting her customers that normally you wait 22 minutes for her to check you out. This happened today. And I gave her my coupons in advance of my purchase, she forgot to include them. She sent me to service to get the cash. She provided no apology and to top things off, this was the third time that this is happened. I am beyond frustrated with this store. That's why I hear other customers complaining about the slow service. Don't bother speaking to management. They try to placate you and do nothing to change the problem. read more

Their produce is always old, especially their strawberries! I never find fruit that is not either smashed or rotting. Last time I was there, there were gnats everywhere! It was disgusting and dirty! They don't have a lot of options for produce or organic produce! I don't get it! It's such a small grocery store compared to the other giant eagles around town, I don't get why?! So disappointing! First off, Giant Eagle is great for groceries, but the pharmacy at this location has a real attitude problem. I came in to pick up my monthly subscription, and they stated that they had re-shelved yesterday and were closing in 20 minutes, therefore they could not pull down my pill pack since this would require them to get it from the shelf again. I emphasize that this is a pill pack, no pills need to be counted. Nowhere have I had a pharmacy say that they cannot get a prescription together in twenty minutes, especially considering that I am a regular customer. The technician told me to come back tomorrow, which is quite inconvenient. They definitely don't follow the general rule that "The customer is always right." read more
