Cost per pound
L I S A H.

BEWARE...... And this just took place, what a surprise- so deceiving. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture before I opened the package ...check out my photos...its not the PRICE, its the POINT especially with the cost of of food today.... Must of been over a half a pound plus of fat....charged and paid for..... MISLEADING! FRAUDULENT ! DECEITFUL !

The salmon was very fresh I had to buy a big piece.

I like this Giant. Bigger and better. More selections of many things. Today I bought "thick cut Angus Beef NY Strip Steak" on sale and am happy. I also found very fresh salmon at the seafood section and bought a little over a pound for less than $8! The lady working there did a wonderful job scaling the fish for me. It had no fishy smell at all. It was that fresh.

The colonnade giant grocery store on union mill road.

The union mill Giant is upping their game on the produce dept for sure ! Perhaps the competition of the produce depts at the international grocery stores has caused them to up their game but today the fare looked beautiful . Good sales too and I was in and out in 20 minutes as they had lots of cashiers in lieu of just opening the self check lanes . It was a pleasant surprise, I have to admit !

Beer aisle today - really?!?!?

One of my favourite supermarkets in the area because of the variety, self-checkout counters and fairly helpful staff.

From the "Sometimes Yelpers Be Basic" Review series…read more.. I love fried chicken. I always have and probably always will. I don't eat it all the time since it's not the healthiest food out there, but I have been known to indulge every so often. Fans of this treat have their favorite purveyor to satisfy their deep fried craving. Some people swear by KFC, Popeyes, Church's, while other's are more new school choosing Chik-Fil-A, Raising Cane's, or Zaxby's. While I've sampled some iteration of "fried chicken" at all of these places, do you know where my favorite fried chicken in the DMV is prepared? The Giant Food deli. Sounds crazy, I know; and even I wouldn't have believed it until I picked up an 8-piece order (I prefer the dark meat) and became a believer. This "conversion," if you will happened in early-2021 during the pandemic and almost purely by accident. I actually drove to KFC and then to Popeyes and couldn't get any chicken due to labor and supply chain issues (you remember those fun times, right?). So I popped in my local Giant Food and saw that an 8 piece order was on sale for $5.99 . I figured, the price was right and the food smelled good, so what did I have to lose? And when I got home and had my first bite, it was an enlightenment. The skin was perfectly GBD (golden/brown/delicious) and crispy, and the meat was moist and seasoned with just enough salt and spices. While I was only intending to consume 1-2 pieces and save the rest for the next day, I "may have" had 3-4 pieces since it was so tasty. As for any leftovers, I find popping them into an air fryer at 300 for about 10-15 minutes is perfect; an oven at 325 for about the same time also works well, but the skin won't be as crispy unless you use the broiler feature for the last 5 minutes of reheating. When I went back the next week to get another order, I was chatting with the guy at the deli who explained that all of the fried chicken is hand dipped and battered in each store, and fried constantly throughout the day. Explains why it taste so good. But admittedly, the trick is you have to time your visit when the chicken is fresh out of the fryer. Usually most of the deli's put their first batches into the fryer around 11:30am, so it's done at 12:15-12:30pm for the lunch rush / and then again around 4:30pm so the next batch is ready around 5:30pm. These are approximate times, so I'd check with your local Giant deli for their preparation schedule. As of this review, an 8-piece container is $7.99, which is still a heck of a good deal. There are usually combo deals available, where with the purchase of an 8-piece, you can also add a few "heat and serve" sides, and have a meal for less than $20.

I'm not sure why this place has such negative reviews. It's a typical grocery store. A bit ancient…read morelooking, especially when Wegmans is down the street. But it does the job and they have anything anyone is generally looking for. They also encourage self check out as there might be 1 normal register open.

I did not find it much different from a trip to Whole Foods, Fresh Market, or Mom's Organic and found a lot of Safeway-esque sprinkled within. Store was quite empty, hot food bar looked picked over, and their bakery section was lackluster. Luckily their prepared section won me over. My best friend and I picked up a few roasted chickens and sides for a Sunday night family dinner and were surprised by how tasty everything was! The salad and cut fruit were super fresh, crisp, and tasty. The creamed spinach was steakhouse quality. And our rotisserie chickens blew Whole Foods dry-as-the-Sahara birds out the window. Each bite was so moist and well flavored that I thought about it for a few days afterwards, I guess there is a reason why Balducci's catering is so legendary. I'll definitely be looking into their menu more as the holidays roll around.

I have never had a long wait in the checkout line. Maybe one or two customers were ahead of me in the checkout line but it didn't take long for me to checkout, because it always goes fast. Cashiers have always been friendly and helpful. The only problem with Wegmans is their enormous size inside their store. From produce to cold boxes is a long walk for an old man like me and sometimes I think I may have to show my passport. Back to their groceries. I am amazed at the freshness, quantity, and variety of their produce. It stays the same for their other grocery items too. Whatever strange grocery item you are seeking, seek it at Wegmans and you should find it. The store has always been clean and a well lighted place. Next time you need some groceries, try Wegmans.

Clean, intuitively laid out, and well stocked, I appreciate the interior environment as a pleasing place to shop. The location is fantastic, sharing a plaza with Old Navy, Five Below, Dick's and Ross. YES: vegan friendly

Great food bar. It was delicious however, at $15 per lb, I spent $20 and change with no drink. Great food. Not a great deal.
