Up until a few years ago, I have always been terribly self-conscious about my smile. Among other things, my front two teeth were very crooked. Oddly enough, I'm finding it difficult to write about this even now, but I feel like I need to shout it from the mountain tops about how amazing this place is! When I finally decided that enough was enough, I went to Gibson Orthodontics by referral of my dentist and a co-worker of mine. I actually shed tears during my consultation with Dr. James Gibson and one of his staff members, Tiffany and I can't express my appreciation for how kind and understanding they were. They really went the extra mile in working with me on a payment plan and wasted no time in putting together my treatment plan. Dr. Gibson and his entire staff are professional, friendly, patient and just a bunch of fantastic people. The office is always immaculately clean and their equipment is very modern and up to date. They have office hours that accommodated my Mon-Fri, 8a-5p job and I could always count on them to schedule me in if something unexpected happened with my braces. I looked forward(and still do!) to every single visit even if the visits entailed new rubber bands or something that didn't feel very pleasant on the teeth. When I got my braces off, I was actually a little bummed because that meant I wouldn't be coming in as often - haha! Gibson Orthodontics completely changed how I felt about my smile. Before when I used to laugh or smile, I would hold my hand in front of my mouth. I can tell you that those days are long behind me. Now, when I laugh, I really laugh with no reservations. Dr. Gibson and staff saw both my kids for their braces needs. We have spent about 5 years going to their office. The staff was patient and explained the process each and every time to the kids. My youngest had traditional braces and the oldest did Invisalign. They have a great way of working out a payment plan for what insurance did not cover. I would recommend them to anyone with orthodontic needs. I would like to add they were great at answering any of my questions either in person or over the phone. read more

Rude and unprofessional staff member. After reaching out to the page on Facebook asking if somebody was available to talk, they responded "About what? " and immediately after, they responded with, "I'm available to chat. What can I help you with?" I can see this person typing rude messages to patients and deleting them before sending the professional message, and I wouldn't doubt this is the type of person to go behind peoples' backs in the office and talk negatively about them and their children. Fortunately, they accidentally sent the message to me, and Facebook doesn't allow pages or people to delete messages on both ends, only theirs. Screenshots below. I responded back still inquiring about their offered services and received no response. This person probably deleted the messages on their end that way it wouldn't be seen by anyone else who manages the Facebook page. The lifetime value of an orthodontic patient/client is well over $5,000+. It's unfortunate that one employee can cost an orthodontist thousands of $$$ in revenue every time they can't control their inner-thoughts with a prospective client/patient. I even found another review on Facebook about a rude front-desk employee‍‍. I hope Dr. Gibson sees the value in hiring a genuinely caring, or at least courteous, employee. There are plenty of kind people with 10+ years of customer service experience looking for jobs amidst our current economic crisis, and there will be even more actively searching for jobs in 3 weeks when the extended unemployment benefits expire. Please, consider hiring somebody that will bring your business value for years to come through kind and fair treatment. There's so much power in referrals, but nobody will refer their friends and loved ones to a place that doesn't care about its patients AND lets rude employees get away with gossiping about those patients. Side note: the first message I sent was an automated message I clicked on, so that's why it was worded "to chat" and not "to help" or "to answer my question". Still no excuse for a professional business that is meant to help patients get a healthy and confident smile.‍ read more

Took a couple of kids with crooked teeth and gave them beautiful smiles and a whole lot of confidence. This place is so amazing. I would recommend them over and over. This review is long overdue..!! I contacted Gibson Orthodontics to straighten a crooked tooth that was bothering me but nothing major. Dr. Gibson gave me the choice between invisalign and traditional braces, I asked for the difference between the two since he is the professional, he said" there is difference in price, invisialign is expensive and the process is longer but with invisalign u get to brush ur teeth, people won't notice u r wearing retainers but at the end u will end up with the same result". I was sold, I chose invisialign and I paid cash at once 4500$, I was excited to have the perfect smile...but NO, invisalign took longer than the time frame Dr quoted me, failed to see what I see, keeps repeating that my teeth are perfect though they were not. After voicing my disappointment in the service, he offered to go back to braces, he offered it at no charge, I offered to pay him 1000$ more so as he would make more effort in revising the plan to fix my teeth , but even with that Dr. Gibson still could not get himself to listen nor review the plan to achieve a satisfactory result. I was pregnant towards the end, so I just accepted the fact that we were not getting anywhere and I accepted the result that Dr. Gibson was claiming to be perfect on 04/2015. I was so upset and disappointed that I paid so much money and I got nothing to show for it but pain and a waste of 2 years of going back and forth to Gibson office. The staff is super nice, big & high tech office but all these things don't matter if I don't receive a good service worth of the money I paid. I swear to God, I have not received even one compliment after my teeth were done, the only close thing to a compliment was :" they are okey" from a co-worker who wore braces before and she had straight teeth with a perfect smile. Now, I feel my teeth are worse than before, I get the food stuck between central incisor and left lateral incisor, basically, food lays in between the two teeth and I get paranoid when I eat out with friends and I don't smile when taking pictures anymore. I wish I left my teeth the way they were :(. It was an awful experience, now, I am in the process of looking for a good Orthodontist to fix the mistakes that were done by Gibson orthodontist. I learned my lesson, I would never pay cash in advance but pay as I go, I was just a number for this office, I don't recommend going to Gibson Orthodontist for adult braces, and invisilagn is a joke. P.S: this review should have been written a year ago, my feelings are calm now and I feel this was a fair review. I highly recommend Gibson & Leavitt Oral and Maxillofacial Office! My teen daughter had her impacted wisdom teeth removed near the time she had to return to her out-of-state school. I Initially thought that we would encounter a scheduling nightmare, but we did not. Dr. Gibson scheduling staff made it work for us.. The evening after the surgery Dr. Gibson called me to see how see how my daughter was doing. I really appreciated his concern and call. Typically a doctor's office will simply instruct to call them if there is any trouble or go to emergency. So, I was impressed by his call. In addition, after a surgery like this, it is customary to have a follow up appointment. Our only time to meet with Dr. Gibson before my daughter returned to school was on a Sunday. Dr. Gibson insisted that he see my daughter before she went to school and if that meant seeing us then so be it. Wow! My daughter and I showed up at his office on Sunday and there he was suit, tie and lab coat ready to visit with his patient one last time. The surgery was a success, my daughter was happy, and I even received a pay reversal for my overpayment afterwards!! Many thanks for amazing service all the way around!! read more

Truly a rare find in the southern Nevada area....in terms of orthodontists or even in general terms for doctors in the healthcare profession. Dr. Gibson and his staff are genuinely caring people and he takes time to not only take care of your teeth but make you feel like a human and not just another number. Great chair side manner and always takes time to ask how your day has been. I'm an adult and he treats me as an adult patient, but I have observed him working with younger children and teenagers and he has the type of personality that makes people of all ages feel comfortable. He is good at explaining the process and progress of the orthodontia work, and also makes sure you are satisfied with the outcome. He never seems like he is trying to rush things to get you out the door, and he also has extended hours during the school year, which makes it convenient for any adults considering orthodontia. If you don't mind driving....or even if you do mind driving....I would still recommend Dr. Gibson. I went to several orthodontists for consultations before choosing to go with his clinic and hands down he was the right choice. read more

Dr. Gibson is far beyond amazing as well as his staff. My husband and I brought his 13 year old son here after a crazy custody battle with his ex wife. We were referred to him by a friend of my husband's who is a dentist not far from Dr. Gibson's office. My step son needed to have his braces removed and after getting custody we were both left in the dark about his case and his former orthodontist had sent us a retainer that had been sized while my step son's braces were still on (you can only imagine what a joke that one was) and a list of other doctor's who wanted to charge us an arm and a leg to have them removed. After explaining our situation, Dr. Gibson was able to get us in within days and remove his braces and size new retainers without having us pay a small fortune. The staff is so incredibly friendly and welcoming I couldn't be happier. My step son kept raving how nice everyone was and how he only wished his entire orthodontic experience was with this team. As an adult dealing with Gibson Ortho, the office has always been great with scheduling, helping me get the appropriate documents I needed for an FSA claim, and having a generally good attitude. Dr. Gibson himself is a great fellow as well, very reassuring in his practice. My biggest complaint, and definitely not the offices fault and why it doesn't lose any stars, is the location. I wish it was closer to central or north west vegas, because that's where I have since moved! I started my treatment when I lived around 15 minutes away, but I've moved twice and my commute has evolved to a 60 mile drive round trip! :( I (or someone, on my behalf) was going to have to come in next week to pick up my retainers, but today I received a call asking if I wanted them delivered. Heck yes. This is what prompted me to come write this review! Although I'm stuck having to drive an hour (round trip) when I do have an appointment, I'm glad to know I'm in good care. read more

I can not stress enough what an amazing Dr. he is. Dr. Gibson took a chance with my case, referred me to an outstanding oral surgeon and gave me my smile back. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with smiles and friendly, happy people. Everyone in Dr. Gibson's office is genuinely into making your visit a pleasure! My son is getting the best care and his teeth are straightening so quickly, I'm beyond amazed! He is absolutely enjoying the entire experience... unlike me, when back in the day, I had the headgears, full band braces and was in agony for a full week every month. My hands still sweat when I got to the dentist, but I got the pleasure of going in to his last appointment and my hands weren't sweating one bit!
