It has been a long while since seeing a dentist and I must say it is never something I look forward to. I haven't had the best experiences in the past, and my teeth are not in the best shape. My husband has been going to Premier Dental for a while now and suggested I give them a try since I recently got new insurance coverage. I went in a couple of weeks ago for my initial appointment. I was greeted by Asia and Jessi at the front desk and they were both nice and friendly. Special thanks to Jessi who helped me with the cost breakdowns for the procedures I needed. She sent everything I requested to my email for my husband to review in a way that we could clearly understand. I initially received a photo copy that was missing a page, and she resent everything on more clear PDF's that we could review. Nina took lots of x-rays and was very pleasant and had a very positive vibe. She had Alexa playing some nice tunes that kept my mind off of my worries and anxiety about the dentist. Dr. Lamancusa was my dentist and he was very nice and upbeat. He did his exam, pointed out areas of concern, and made a plan to address everything. He put my mind at ease about my concerns and let me know that all my issues are fixable and not the end of the world. I ended up needing 2 crowns ASAP. The anesthetic when preparing for my crowns was not strong enough and I could feel the drilling initially (ouch!), but Dr. Lamancusa quickly addressed the issue and adjusted my dosage so that I was completely numb. He said he also noted my file for future reference that I require more time and more anesthetic. For some reason that stuff just does not work on me like most people. I left with temporary crowns and was told the permanent crowns would be ready in two weeks. It was rough eating on one side, and not having bread or anything hot, but I managed. The crowns ended up being available 2 days early and they called and moved my appointment up. I must say having the crowns put on those exposed, sensitive, drilled down teeth was not fun. The cold water, the cleaning of the exposed teeth, the removing and resizing the crown over and over, the ice cold cement, it all hurt. But, the pain subsided a bit after lots of Tylenol. I have never had crowns so I did not know what to expect or what was normal, but the dental assistants assured me what I was experiencing was on par for getting crowns. I was not sure about the fit of the crowns initially, so Dr. Lamancusa told me to try them out and come back in a couple of days if I felt something was off. I went back this morning and he drilled the crowns down a bit to adjust. I haven't eaten yet to know for sure about my bite, but it seems to feel much better as of now. I had a cleaning and laser treatment with the Hygienist, Angela, who I must say is the BEST! She was so gentle with her equipment, she explained everything along the way, and she just has an overall kind and warm demeanor that made me feel at ease. She made sure I was numb enough throughout the process which I really appreciated. I will not be scared to keep up with my regular cleanings going forward, as long as Angela is there! All in all, I am glad that I finally went back to the dentist. Definitely recommend. read more

I came in for an inflamed gum//pain concern. Was told I would need a Crown, after drilling the informed me I would only need a filling on my tooth. The doctor who performed the exam TOUCHED HIS NOSE AND PUT HIS FINGER IN MY MOUTH touching the tooth they were actively filling. I am beyond concerned for risk of infection now. I called after the Numbness wore off explaining I had terrible pain in the filling and excruciating pain my gums. THEY DID NOT SOLVE ANYTHING. Shout out to the first-class staff over at Premier Dental Care. They been taking care of my teeth for about 5 years now. The office is clean. Staff is friendly and approachable both in the front desk and the back. The hygienest do an A+ cleaning. Today, met my new hygienest, Angela, RDH. Such a sweetie. Easy to talk to. Did my xrays and cleanings efficiently. Angela has a great attitude with serving clients. Also met the other full-time hygienest, Liz, RDH. Very friendly and relatable. Good mindset and experience. This place unfortunately has gone downhill. I used to come here for all my services, even while living in Summerlin, because I was so impressed with the services and the exceptionally friendly staff. Now you can barely get an appointment and the staff (particularly behind the desk) is useless and misinforming. I've been dealing with this woman, Asia, who was referred to me by the wrong name and told me things pertaining to my insurance that were not true. I walked out in a complete rage from my appointment the other day and will not be returning. So I took my wife here for a teeth cleaning, after that they sit you in an office and talk about other issues that are needed. Only recommending the most expensive stuff, when I know that there are alternatives to each. You're not a care salesman lady!!! This was the most uncomfortable dental visit I've had in my life, and this review is for anyone who is drawn by the high rating this place has. There is some serious issue with the hygienist Elizabeth. She is rather rude, and has the worst bedside manner and behavior I have ever seen from a medical professional. I don't know if she was just having a bad day, or personally disliked me. I remained polite and respectful with her. From the start of the visit, Elizabeth began repeatedly scolding me that my most recent dental visit was 8 months ago rather than 6 months. It will sound like I am exaggerating when I say that I had to hear her tell me this nearly every 5 minutes... "that's why we recommend every 6 months" / "yeah if you're here every 6 months you won't be in as bad of shape and this will go a lot faster", seemingly bemoaning the cleaning she had to do. Elizabeth also repeatedly made negative comments about the appearance of my teeth (color, shape), and tongue also. Beyond what was medically necessary - there were probably 20-30 comments about how bad my teeth were. I laughed it off, but a lot of people are self-conscious about this, and you will have a really embarrassing experience with her if you are. After describing how bad my teeth were over and over again, Elizabeth brought up a front desk person while I was still laying on the chair to have me sign to pay an extra fee for the cleaning - when I had been told upfront my insurance would cover the visit. The explanation was that according to her, my teeth were in such bad shape that I had to pay $60 out of pocket to cover them. This is really interesting because I had a cleaning at a different dentist just 8 months ago, which my insurance fully covered, and there was no extra charge, nor lecture about some horrific state of my teeth. Neither my eating nor dental habits have changed - if anything they've improved. All my dental visits in my life have been really positive experiences, and I have never been charged extra. I think this maybe just came from whatever personal issue she had with me. Everything she said, she would repeat a minimum of 10 times. For example, maybe it's prudent to tell a patient: "be careful not to grind your teeth," once or twice during the exam. Elizabeth would loop, and keep lecturing me not to in a condescending tone of voice every few minutes, and when I responded that I did not think I did so, she continued each next repeated lecture insinuating I did. After hearing a lot of these various negative descriptions of my teeth, I finally asked her what specifically she advised me to do or not to do dentally to fix what she was identifying. She responded that she could give me no advice because she's "not the doctor" and we have to wait for him. Well the best part is... the doctor finally comes in, and starts remarking about how good the condition of my teeth is! He looks in detail for 5-10 minutes and identifies basically no significant dental health issues - contrary to the various many Elizabeth said I had. Elizabeth is deferent to him, but does eventually try to insist to him "but isn't this color a problem?", to which he responds it's fine and within the normal range. She was real quiet after this. So I've endured an hour of insults for no reason, and am out $60. I have visited many dentists and medical professionals in my life and I've never had someone treat me this rudely, it was extremely uncomfortable, and I would recommend not going unless you would like the experience I had. I will try to be fair and grant that maybe she is in fact very competent and skilled at the technical parts of her job, but she is horrible at patient communication. I want to emphasize that my issue isn't with her being critical (that is a part of her job) - it's how annoying the incessant repetition of everything she would say was, and her very condescending tone of voice and attitude throughout the entire visit. It's a shame too because the dentist himself (Dr. Lamancusa?) was really excellent! He's very competent, polite, efficient, professional. The front desk staff are also very nice and pleasant too. If I had simply had a different hygienist it would've been a great experience. (There's a lot of other bad stuff I'm leaving out, but one last great gem of this visit: it was very hard for her to get the X-Ray photos she wanted, so she did maybe double or triple the amount of X-Rays required to correct the errors. This felt terrible and I'm a bit uncomfortable with the triple radiation dose, but I empathize it's probably hard to do on her side. According to her, I was the problem causing this. The only control I have is biting down on the uncomfortable large jutting plastic thing you put into my throat. At one point the sensor falls on the floor, and she reacts in a rather sarcastic tone: "oh...! expensive sensor falling on the floor... yeaahh we don't want that... ") read more

Last Thursday I called to make an emergent appt for my gran because of a broken tooth that was cutting her tongue. They got her in the next day. After she arrived they took complete advantage of her and her age (89). They took as many Xrays as they possibly could, then after making her sit in the chair for over an hour said they couldn't help her (not even a grind down) and sent her out with an oral surgery referral. The oral surgeon got her right in and ground down the tooth and made an appt for her to come back for the extraction. Premier dental was an hour and a half behind and when we left there were five people waiting in the waiting area. I HIGHLY recommend you do not go here. read more

Do not come to this office if you have a complicated dental picture. "Doctor" Alex Song cannot help you. He told me, "There is no room in your mouth for teeth." That's a verbatim quote. Guess what? I'm having dental implants done by one of the top guys in the country in a few weeks. Why this so-called dentist would tell me that there is literally no room in my mouth for teeth is frightening. At the very least, it is food for thought. But it's only a part of his overall bizarreness. He didn't want to glue in a bridge that had fallen out until oral surgery could be done. He was afraid I would "aspirate it." He used this word a lot. Aspirate means to breathe in, so I guess his worry was that I would swallow the bridge in my sleep. (Note: the dentist I'm having do the oral surgery has no such fears and we didn't have the same ridiculous conversation that I had with Dr. Song. Also let me note that Dr. Song had me sign a legal waiver exculpating him from liability if I did swallow the bridge the first time he cemented it, to buy me time to gather my money. It's been my experience that when people worry overmuch about legalities and waivers it's because they have reason to do so. My oral surgeon and one other dentist I spoke to said nothing about signing a waiver to get a bridge temporarily cemented prior to surgery.)  And I'm going to interject this: I'm wondering if age discrimination isn't a part of what happened. When I asked him to cement the bridge until he could do surgery, his response was idiotic and condescending. He said, "You can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." There was NO ISSUE of doing anything "over and over." The SOLE ISSUE here was me having front teeth so I looked normal until the day of the surgery. And, again, the dentist I'm with now cemented the bridge without hesitation and took my money. My point is, Dr. Song apparently thought that talking down to me, making me the idiot and the fool, was the way to go here -- rather than simply admitting that he didn't have the skill to work on my teeth.  When I made Dr. Song's acquaintance four months earlier and he was open to doing dental implants, he cemented the bridge, with the understanding that I would come back in five or six months when I had the money for implants assembled. Long story short, the bridge fell out after four months. So I showed up, with most of the money in hand, and was told -- now -- by Dr. Song that dental implants are a physical impossibility in my case, because "there is no room in your mouth for teeth."  For HIM they are a physical impossibility. Not for me. And not for the dentist performing the surgery. That's the point of this review. Don't go near this guy if you have a complicated dental picture. He cannot handle it and he will make it all be your fault and something you've done wrong because he lacks the basic professionalism and decency to simply say: "I can't do anything for you because your dental picture is way beyond my particular skills set. But I can guide you to other professionals who can help you."   He actually snarled at me, when I was drinking a Diet Coke, "Why are you drinking that stuff?" I said, "It's sugar free. I thought sugar was the bugaboo." He said, "No, it's acidic." Acidic or not, my teeth aren't in the condition they're in due to drinking diet soda. I have a genetic predisposition towards bad teeth in later adulthood. Both my mother and my grandmother lost their teeth, seemingly overnight, in their forties. My problems began in my late 50's. Prior to that, I cleaned my teeth regularly, all of the usual stuff. But genetics are genetics and will dictate a lot of what happens to us in our lives.  Dr. Song is cocky and arrogant as many insecure people are. That's how they hide their feelings of inadequacy, by lording their imagined superiority over others. Lastly, when he was throwing up his hands, unable to help me, he directed me to a colleague who is a prosthodonist. I called that office twice and left messages. They never even did me the courtesy of a return call.  So I found a specialist in dental implants and am now scheduled for the oral surgery I need and it is a non-problematic situation -- for a dentist with sufficient skill. In fact, there are pictures all over this office of people with far worse dental situations than mine. And I may become a poster child for this dentist's skill as well.  Let me be crystal clear: I am not criticizing Dr. Song because he doesn't have the requisite skill. I am criticizing the fact that he simply didn't SAY SO to begin with. I would have thanked him kindly and not wasted any more of his time or mine.  I didn't need to sit in his office, twice, and be belittled and brow beaten. I simply needed to get to a specialist and get taken care of. Maybe Dr. Song will grow up and learn how to handle complex situations with a little more professionalism and class. read more

I just got back from the dentist today. I had to have a crown replaced. Rowen, I believe to be a dental assistant just rocked it. I had an excellent experience as always. The thing that I really want to mention is when I first went into the office I wanted to give my dental appointment to my son who was having severe tooth pain. This patient ran out of patience. The only good from Premier Dental is their hygienist, Jason. He was great at his cleanings and chair side manner. He definitely always engaged in conversation but was thorough in his process. On the flip side comes their major dental work procedures. Just awful. I'll preface by saying I know my teeth are bad. I brush and floss more than I should but it doesn't seem to help. Since I am cursed I have made return visits between cleanings frequently. Recently I had to have a tooth pulled because of root decay. They hounded me as well as my husband for me to get an implant done. Fact: my husband can't convince me to do anything unless I want to. Leave him out of it. And why are you talking to him about MY procedures when I'm not there? After much debate in my head of whether I should do it, I conceded. Now this is a much more in depth process than I was told. Started the implant in March and finished in August. After the initial post was put in, they decided to then disclose all of the "Don't Do" list. If there is a list a mile long, dentist should always disclose ahead of time. Especially to someone in their 30's and then tell them they can't exercise for a week. WTF? Then come all of the x-rays. Let me tell you this dental office is x-ray crazy. You can't even get a cleaning unless you get an x-ray done even though you tell them no. I get it... you don't have to pay with dental insurance but they get paid from the insurance company. Its a win for them and aggravation for me. Another gripe I have is their disclosure on cost before a procedure. My husband had all of the paperwork beforehand for a crown with cost. Afterward they said we owed more because the dentist decided to go with a different type. Again, DISCLOSE ahead of time! Lastly, I am definitely an on time person. I was always to my appointments early. They call & text & email way too much to confirm appointments. Recently they called about 30 minutes after confirming a time to ask to change the time. Ok I can do that. We had to wait for the one and only special camera they have for implants. After sitting (and standing) for an hour, I had enough. They explained it could've been a 2 hour wait if I didn't move my appointment. Seriously? Sometimes you just have to walk away. read more

I love this dentist! I have been on a hunt to find a place to replace Desert Breeze Dental since they stopped taking my insurance. :( Everyone here is so polite and personable. From the front counter staff to the hygienists and dentists. They take good care of their patients and they are always giving me detailed steps on how to take better care of my teeth. The office is pretty small, but I think that's what I like about it. Makes it feel intimate and less intimidating. Looks like I've found my dentist for life. GET A SECOND OPINION !!! When I turned 65 and went on Medicare and my existing dentist that I had been going to for years didn't accept the Medicare plan I was on so I had to find a new dentist. Premier was nearby and they accepted my insurance which only covers cleanings and exams so I booked an appointment. On my first appointment they did x-rays and photos, a dentist looked at my teeth and they provided an extensive $16,000 treatment plan. I went ahead and returned for the cleaning, which was fine and threw away the treatment plan because I suspected I was being scammed. One year later it's time again for x-rays and exam and I find they are telling me I need 5 new crowns for $5,000 +. I returned to my old dentist for a second opinion on all of this work. His opinion: "Your teeth are the same as they were when you were last in here (5 years ago), you don't need any of this work." I'll be returning to my old dentist for all future work as I need a dentist I can trust. GET A SECOND OPINION !!! read more

5 Stars for getting teeth drilled and scraped? Look, I hate going to the dentist even if it's for a quick check-up, you know something semi-uncomfortable is going to happen. I mean it's not like the dentist is going to say your teeth look amazing and then offer you some taffy and beer. Although that would be cool! After getting some x-rays and quick look at my teeth. I found out I needed two cavities filled and a deep cleaning. Oh great, drills and scraping on my sensitive teeth just what I was hoping for, but that wasn't the case at Premier Dental Care. I barely felt the drilling and the first initial cleaning only took about 25 minutes, which is pretty insane. I came back about two weeks later for my final cleaning and it was more of the same amazing service. I was done in about 45 minutes and got to watch a movie while they cleaned my teeth. Honestly, anyone who hates or is scared is of the dentist, will love this place, great service and a soft touch. Let me see yo grill! read more

Dr. Song is okay, and the staff there are kind generally, but the professional quality is not good: the assistant really hurt me when scanning my gum; during treatment, the receptionist came in and stopped the treatment, saying I didn't put enough downpayment, while I already paid in half. Today I had Sue cleaning my teeth and she was funny and a plethora of knowledge. I had questions and she actually listened and was honest with her response. I went in here a week ago with my 10-year-old to have one of his teeth pulled and four cavities filled. They pulled one tooth and filled one cavity all while I was in the room. They had somewhat of a hard time because there was two dental assistants in the room both of which appear to be fresh out of school students, how dare they put unexperienced staff in The procedure room with my child, I have a feeling this is why the events of today happened, this place cheeps out with fresh out of school dental assistants, as opposed to using quality dental assistants. So today we go in to have the other three cavities filled, and not until I'm walking my child in the back do they say oh parents cannot be in the room. I say to them "well I was in here last time and nobody had issue with it". They said that due to a meeting they recently had, parents are no longer allowed in the room due to the Nevada State dental board. My Child is a minor under the age of 12, he's already terrified enough and they're asking me to not be in the room with him. Have these people lost their minds? I stepped out of the office to call the state board and was told there is no such policy in place that it is an office policy. I went back in and asked the office manager and she said it is a state board policy, when I told her I just got off the phone with the state board and showed her on my phone that the state board said it was bogus and there's no such policy in place, she had nothing to say. Instead of informing me immediately after their meeting or the next day after it, they wait until I'm there in person loose a day at work with no pay and my son to be out of school. What awesome customer care they have!!!!! I do not appreciate being looked in the eyes and lied to. We all know that I couldn't be in the room because you were going to have a group or fresh out of school untrained staff work on my son again without my permission, and you were probably going to hurt him like last time and you forget to polish his filling!!!! He has a massively uneven bite!!!! They just lost a family of customers, though I'm sure they could care less, it's probably a drop of water in the ocean for them. Needless to say, I will be mailing a formal complaint to the dental board. Learn from my heartache do not go to this office go elsewhere, they do not value their patients time, nor do they care about making children feel safe or comfortable. read more
